After reading the reviews I felt obligated to voice my opinions of my first experience at Aspen. I was not looking forward to going to any dentist, and have avoided it for years due to past experiences with local dentists in my area who were rude, too rough, impersonal, etc. But, lucky me I broke a tooth and made a decision to get it fixed along with anything else at the same time. I was able to been seen right away, instead of having to schedule a month out or more like most local dentist offices. I asked for a female dentist, as the males I have had in the past were the same ones with the attributes I mentioned above. My first visit I was full of anxiety, nervous, etc. Then I found out that my dentist that day would be a male as no females were on duty. I wasn't happy at first, very nervous, but was assured that he was awesome. Let me assure you, Dr. Kurt Losier is in fact AWESOME. Honestly, I would prefer him in the future. So personable, caring, and an expert in his field. As far as billing/cost, if you don't ask questions that's your own fault. Yes, I was presented with a rather large quote on what I needed done, but when I stated I couldn't afford that, the dentist and the finance rep were able to adjust to what was needed most as far as procedures, then I was informed of an insurance they offered that cost me only $99 a year, but ended up saving me $805 off my bill. Totally worth it. Needless to say, we got to a reasonable agreeable amount. The staff are all very friendly and made this first visit in over 15 years for me, the best I can remember ever having. You don't have to agree to anything unless you chose. You are given a breakdown of what the dentist suggests needs done, but you are also given choices, and information like I was, on addtional insurance if you have none or if your current insurance has ample coverage, like mine. As far as the poor reviews, I beleive they are such due to lack of knowledge and persistence on the writer's end. So if you aren't sure, take my advice and at least give them a try. Too many will write of a bad experience, very few will write of great ones. read more

I'm terrified of dentists and shots. I made them very aware of this. So they pump my mouth full of shots then send me to the lady to discuss prices. I'm not ok at this point, visibly shaking. They made me believe my mouth was in horrible shape and if I didn't get all the treatments, I'd lose my teeth. Just to be clear I had a couple cavities and needed a wisdom tooth extracted. I paid several thousands of dollars for what they recommended due to the stress I was under. I paid the bill in full a couple days later. I wasn't trying to get out of paying the bill but I received another bill for $55 and called to tell them I already gave them thousands and I'm not paying another dime. Also I let them know that filling my mouth full of shots then sending me to discuss prices was not the way to do it. I should have been able to discuss treatment options and prices before anything was done in my mouth considering how terrified I am of everything. Sounds reasonable to me. The lady I talked to on the phone couldn't comprehend what I was saying and told me I was "using big words" . I explained in kindergarten terms a couple times that they need to discuss treatment and prices before pumping people's mouths full of shots. Especially if they make it known they have fears. She absolutely didn't understand what I was saying. I became aggravated and told her I was done with the conversation, the bill is paid and I won't be back. Be very cautious. I'm insured by the largest Medicare Advantage Company. I understood that the office was famiiar with UHC and had thoroughly checked my coverage. I was told by the dentist what "needed" to be done and was given a printout showing the total cost, the insurance coverage and my share of the the procedure which I paid. Through the weeks of the process, I was surprised to pay some extras that weren't covered by my insurance. Fast forward to a year after the work was started, into the next calendar year: I received yet another bill for approx. 1500.00 to pay for other things the insurance "didn't cover" as well as exceeding the carrier's maximum. I called the billing person at Aspen, couldn't speak with her and left a message to call me. Weeks later without a return call from her, another bill, asking for immediate payment. Overall, I feel that I dealt with a used car salesman, not a professional dental office. I'm sure they will respond appropriately as they do for most negative reviews here, promising to used my review to improve their services in the future. Don't walk away, RUN. From Dr. LOESCHERS substandard scheduler this past thurs night , then Friday morning who schedules with a dentist that turns out to be owner Dr. Loescher , yet doesn't know where he is that day or even who he is....to even worse Coliseum Aspen dental office manager Lauren , who knowingly put me in medical danger of getting an abcess who with rudeness and crudeness and unprofessionalism and knowingly canceled my appointment because she didn't appreciate how I could be upset with the "Bait and Switch" tactics of the price. I got quote $125-150 for an extraction only to be called that morning early and told make sure I bring $500+ and couldn't understand why I would be upset. While I didn't even raise my voice, Lauren showed no empathy for my situation and said I don't like how you are talking to me so I am canceling your appt and hung up on me. I wasn't even rude! I did show up 30 min later only to find my appt absolutely canceled and was told my appt with Dr. Loescher wouldn't have happened anyways because he was wasn't even in that particular office that day. THEN LAUREN COMES OUT AND SMIRKS AS FRONT COUNTER LADY TELLS ME MY APPT WAS CANCELLED. LAUREN THEN SAID GOOD LUCK FINDING SOMEONE TO FIX IT OVER THE WEEKEND AND ENJOY THE PAIN. I can't even express how infuriating it is for a medical professional to treat me this way. I am reporting this also to medical boards. read more

Went there twice in Dec 2022; first time saw a dentist, hygienist had called out so had to come back the next week. Received bills in the mail even though I was in-network with Delta Dental, Aspen billed out of network to try to get more $$, after 4 months of fraudulent billing, they just wrote it off rather than bill it correctly as instructed by Delta Dental. Please do not go here! I am still in shock by the way I have been treated by this office, more specifically the office manager Vanesha. I was promised an initial price for work that was being done. I have the paper work to prove so. I was then called in the office and told I owe more money, multiple times, each time having to prove what was promised through the paper work. Besides the fact they are trying to screw me on money, I'd more like to Focus on the extremely unprofessional way this was handled. Multiple time throughout my encounters at this office I was treated very poorly not by staff (they were all very nice) but the office manager Vanesha was extremely unprofessional and rude. She's very condescending when you speak to her and cried on multiple occasions when speaking about my bill. When I asked her if I need to speak to a lawyer about the money issue, she completely flipped and stated I was threatening her and I am no longer allowed at office then proceed to hang up on me. I have asked to speak to her manger mutiple times, she will not let me. I have never been treated so poorly/strangley. It was a very strange situation I am currently expecting a call from the RM for the location. But please save yourself the hassle and don't go here, not only because they will try to you screw you out of money but solely because no one should ever be treated this way. read more

We love Aspen Dental. They have taken care of our whole family. We started coming to Aspen after another dentist told my husband and me that we had to have certain work done. When we saw the dentist at Aspen, he said we did not! The staff is super nice. The dentists are excellent. The hygienist Ashley was the best I have ever had. We will continue with Aspen!!! I went in to have my wisdom teeth removed and my experiences with them were horrific. They withheld information from me, left me alone for long periods of time, have poor scheduling practices, and have since treated me with an absurdly abysmal amount of professionalism and courtesy. I'll need to backtrack to embody the full spectrum of ridiculousness this place emits. It began when I went in for my initial appointment. They were only able to remove one of my teeth because, according to them, my gag reflex was too sensitive under anesthesia and I needed to reschedule to have the rest extracted under a local. Okay, no problem. However, the day afterwards, I was concerned that I popped one of my stitches, so I returned to see if I could have someone look at it. I was made to wait for a good half hour before they called me back only to say there was nothing they could do--something they could easily just tell me upfront. A month goes by and the day before my second extraction comes around. They contacted me and asked if I could reschedule due to the doctor already being rather booked. I refused since I scheduled a month in advance. I get in for my appointment and they asked me if I was sure I wanted to be sedated under a local rather than a general anesthetic. They were the ones that told me I needed to be under a local, so of course that's what I need. It was in that conversation that I learned they didn't disclose all of their reasoning for my being under a local. Initially, they told me it was my gag reflex, but at this appointment, they told me I was extremely combative. I should have gotten this information the first time. My surgery began and the doctor sedated me and was successful at extracting the first tooth. Afterwards, he left me to "compose myself" and said he would return shortly. By his definition, shortly means 40-45 minutes. Since the structure of the office is fairly open, I could clearly hear him pulling out the teeth of two other people while I sat and waited for him to return. Local anesthetics have a time limit. He comes back after those two people and then numbs me again only to disappear for another half hour, leaving me medicated and slightly distressed. He returned again and started working on my second tooth. It's a pretty horrifying experience because I am wide awake and feeling every single uncomfortable sensation that comes with a wisdom tooth surgery. He wasn't a very compassionate man, telling me every few minutes that I needed to "calm down." It's not that easy being calm when you have to be awake for this kind of procedure. But that wasn't even the most distasteful aspect of this part of the surgery. As he's working on extracting my second tooth, he asks me if I'm SURE I don't want to reschedule to get the last one pulled. I am sedated, I am freaking out, and he is already in my mouth. In what way is it logical to ask me to reschedule? So no. I refused again. Then he completed the surgery. Aftercare was a joke. Rather than letting me leave out the back door like they did the last time, they marched my swollen face out of the front, parading my discomfort in front of all of the waiting patients. I called them after a few days to report my unpleasant experience, but they acted none the wiser, stating "oh we didn't know, that shouldn't have hapoened." They told me they would get back to me, but to this day they still haven't. It's been over a week or so. I wouldn't wish this kind of experience on anybody, so please save yourself the time and sanity and avoid having work done here. read more

I just started using Aspen Dental in Warsaw, Indiana. Dr. Losier, Jennie (Hygienist), and Paige (Office Staff) provided excellent care. I had one tooth extraction and a dental cleaning. I like the fact they provide lots of information and services. Upfront they offered cancer screening (oral solution/exam) and fluoride treatment for prevention. I'm in my 70's and didn't know that fluoride treatment is valuable at my age. Also, I've never been offer or told before about oral cancer screening. read more

Your smile will be turned upside down if you choose Aspen Dental. My advice is guard your wallet. These crooks aren't interested in your dental health rather their bottom line. My family of five used their services during Y2017 whereupon they suggested certain members had gum deterioration and gingivitis driving up the invoices. They absolutely love to sell their hundred dollar plus magical toothbrush. Insist on oral cancer screenings when you're a healthy non-smoker. Those ridiculous fluoride treatment for adults. Then there is awful cleaning that you can't tell you had because they were so busy trying to push other services. Simply my advice, select a non-corporate dentist that knows your name, actually cares about the health of their patient(s) vs. cost loading for the sake of the company. read more

Was not a good experience. I was rushed through, and during the x-rays she ripped the plastic protective covering on the bite hold and didn't replace it so I felt like I was being contaminated by everyone who had had that in their mouths. Then when I was taken into the exam room to talk to the hygienist, she immediately started talking about what the doctor would likely say. I told her I didn't want a root cleaning, just an exam and regular cleaning. She said they wouldn't even consider it. I do feel I have a right to approve or deny what I have done to my own body, so I said, well I guess we're done then. She said, yes, I guess so. So I didn't even see a dentist or have an exam. I just felt like the whole situation was handled unprofessionally. The first thing you see are the consultation areas for setting up payments and it just seemed like shady money scamming rather than actually caring about the patient or their dental health. I went to Aspen Dental for new denture and more time was spent with the sales person who pressured me to go with the " top of the line " then time with a dentist. The denture they made does not look natural. The process was rushed and the people who worked with me were poorly trained. Throughout my office visits during the process I observed that the dentist rarely did anything outside of sit at his computer and check his iPhone. He spent less than 10 minutes with me out of several hours of visits. The assistants did everything ... And they were poorly trained. Sloppy hygiene with handling tools and the denture lead to my getting an infection. They were more interested in my paying a big chunk of $$$$ than they were with producing a quality product. I will never use Aspen Dental again nor recommend them to anyone. read more

Absolutely awful. I had thousands of dollars of work done and when I went to a new dentist, was told all of it needed to be redone because the fillings weren't drilled far enough and they have bubbles! You can clearly see how badly they were done on the x-rays. They also missed many cavities that my previous dentist said I had (it was on my treatment plan, which they refused to look at). They instead tried to push teeth whitening on me, which I told them I didn't want. Did I mention they charge you for your whole treatment plan BEFORE you get the work done? You'll be paying for cavities you won't have filled for a few months. I went in and asked for a refund and they made me sign paperwork that I won't sue them. I was told I would have the refund over a week ago, but they keep giving me excuses. GO ANYWHERE ELSE! They will take your money and do shoddy work you'll have to have redone later. I went in with a few cavities and came out with major sensitivity problems and a bunch of cavities I'll have to have redone soon. If money is a problem, other dentists in town take Care Credit so go somewhere else! read more

While Aspen seems to be the only local location that my insurance is accepted, and I have had to stay with them for over 5 years now, I have yet to be comfortable going there. This last time I went in for a cleaning that is 100% covered by insurance and at the end of the visit they told me I owe $70. I was told it is for a cancer screening. I did not request this and was not asked before hand if I wanted one. The office manager, Olivia has yet to return my 5 calls regarding this latest incident. They have submitted the bill under a dentists name that I did not see and have yet to resubmit it under the dentists name that I did see and that is in my plan, even though they tell me they will. They also acknowledge that they knew my insurance would not cover the cancer screening but have yet to remove it from my bill and now they threaten to involve a collection agency! Over the years that we have had to stay with them I have had several billing issues. Last Fall my son was told by Aspen in Warsaw that he had gingivitis and they wanted to do several procedures on his gums to help save his teeth. His teeth are beautiful and he has no filings so we found this difficult to believe. He went to a dentist in Fort Wayne and they told him that he in no way had gingivitis. He will never go to Aspen again. The office staff are not pleasant and through the years they have called us several times to change appointment times and dates. I could go on and on about incidents over the years. We, as a family, are done with Aspen and would not recommend them to anyone. read more
