called early this morning about a broken tooth, set up and appointment and they told me i could come in today (saturday) for a walk in, got there at 10:30, online it says they open at 8. the lights were off and the door was locked. i called. no response. i figured they were maybe on lunch or something. waited some more. tried the door and it was still locked. it's about 11 by now, i call again, and you guessed it NO RESPONSE. i ended up being outside of your building for an hour. you guys either need to hire better people to actually show up when you guys are open or change the hour online because this was inexcusable. read more

Insurance wouldn't pay so they didn't check before procedure. Said if.we paid before 15th get discount which we did received bill in the mail today for the discount they said we could have. I had the same experience as others, they tried to sell me expensive cleanings, gingivitis. they said maintenance cleanings after the $333 deep cleaning would be $126, when those are usually "free" with my insurance ...had my last dental appt. 4 months ago before I moved, was told that I was in good shape. I thought something was up, when the office manager called me Sunday evening before my appointment to say I couldn't get a cleaning until they looked at me. they look at you, then sit you down with the finance person...just like an auto dealer! Total scam. They tried to tell me I have "gingivitis" and talk me into a bunch of cleaning treatments that I didn't need. I moved to Tulsa and was trying this place out because it was close to my house. Last time I ever go back. I called my dentist from back home who I'd been going to for at least 10 years and they said there was no way I had gingivitis. Avoid this place, they're a total scam. Also my appointment was at 8:30am. I tried to get there early to fill out the paperwork, but they didn't even unlock the door until 8:30am. Then I had to wait 30 mins before I was even seen and I didn't leave until after 11am!!! AND THEY DIDNT EVEN CLEAN MY TEETH! The staff was nice but the front desk woman was completely incompetent and kept coming back to my room to ask me for information. They kept saying their systems were down and they were short staffed. I missed a half day of work and didn't even get my teeth cleaned and then they tried to scam me out of $1,200 for basically a thorough teeth cleaning. read more

My husband had a root canal and temporary crown done here. All was well until he had his permanent crown put in. He kept telling the dentist that something is pinched, and it is hurting. However, they couldn't figure out why it was causing him pain. Nothing has been done. The crown is slightly too long, and was putting pressure on another tooth. read more

Today was by far one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a dentist office. I came in today for a routine cleaning. After my x-rays and exam, I was expecting to go ahead and get my teeth cleaned. (That is what has always happened in previous appointments with other dentist offices) This is not what happened. The office manager explained to me that my cleaning would at first cost me over $300. I was very confused because it has been at least 10 years since I have had to pay for a cleaning. She reduced the bill to around $215 because they were also trying to charge me $135 for a toothbrush I did not ask for. The office manager then told me that the only thing the hygienist does in a routine cleaning at Aspen Dental was brush my teeth and polish them. To clarify, because I asked, they do not do any kind of scraping for a routine cleaning. If this is all you have been getting from this dentist office, you should inform yourself. From my experience, routine cleanings include the scraping of plaque off the surface of your teeth, polish, flossing, and a fluoride treatment if you choose. A dental hygienist has never just brushed my teeth. This was an utter waste of my time. This place only cares about how much money they can make. I suppose now I am going to sound crazy when I try to find another new dentist and have to ensure this doesn't happen to me again. read more

Service was horrible.. I was pre-warm about there telephone system being down which is fine. Went for my appointment found out computer system where down okay. Filled out all pages of paperwork went through X-rays seen a dentist very nice offer me some Invisalign's and a deep cleaning. One I have straightest teeth ever but I figured it was a sales pitch.. All I wanted was a cleaning he finished the lady tells me I we can't verify your insurance.. We will call you back it's been 6wks know callback.. I called on week four and lady asked for insurance I did t have that available asked about my paperwork she hesitated, left me on hold for 15mins another girl who appear to have a attitude in her voices answered can o help you. I told her the situation sounded frustrated we need your insurance I ask where was those 5-6 pages of paperwork she said it will take time to find them ask for my number for a call back... I said is it lost know it will just take time to find it. I explained my SSN is on that paperwork she said we can call you back... It's been two weeks.. They have very good customer service and amazing attitudes, but what's the point of an appointment if I am still going to have to wait 20-25 minutes after arriving there slightly before the appointment time. I would rather find a dentist that will be more considerate and respectable for my time. That's ridiculous to have an appointment and have to wait that long, and no telling how long the wait would've been if I did not get up to leave. This is not a good place if you're trying to squeeze your appointment in over a lunch because the wait is ridiculous. read more

Tulsa Hills Location: At consultation appt on 12/11/2023 we asked to verify if we were in network or not. We really wanted to use them because of a familiar dentist that worked there. When we scheduled the consultation they were in network, then right before the appt, we checked again & their name didn't show up. So at the consultation that was free, we asked them to verify because we really wanted to use them. Stephanie said she would check & make sure because they were changing owners. After the consultation, they wanted to schedule an appt for a cleaning but I said, I didn't want to schedule if we weren't in network. They still didn't know but said we could schedule the appt & just cancel if we weren't. Because they were verifying our network status & went ahead & encouraged us to set an appointment, made us believe that they would let us know what they found out & if we weren't they would tell us so we could cancel the appointment, especially since I kept bringing up the network issue. However, we were never notified either way & so went ahead w/ the appointment believing we were in network because we thought we would be notified otherwise. How we found out that we weren't, was by receiving a bill. When we called, we were told that Stephanie had entered in the notes that she had told my husband at the consultation which is not true because we would have never made the cleaning appt. The office manager, Ryan, then informs us that it's not her job to let us know if we're in network or not. My issue is, not the money but that this company has devious tactics & offers to do something (multiple times) that's not their job, giving us the impression that it is and then lies about it & the only consequence is that we now have a bill that we would not have had, if she would have said it's not her job, not lied that she told us when she didn't, and the appointment was not encouraged without verification. Aspen Dental is the car salesmen of dental work. You go in for one thing for a free exam and then they hit you with anything and everything they could do for you at top prices. Yes, they will work with payment but at an interest rate of around 27%. That is worse than care credit. This place should be a last resort for anyone needing dental work. read more

I think I found my new dental place to go! First need to say I have Severe dental anxiety after having 4 impact wisdom teeth removed in 2015. The people I went to yes did great but the bedside manners needs some improvement and didn't check up on me to be sure the infected wisdom tooth at the time wasn't getting worse. The staff at Aspen Dental on 41st went above and beyond to make sure I'd calm down explaining possibilities and offered payment plans to numb my gums before any work was done. With my experience that was new to me they made sure what I needed came first. After cleaning and one filling they asked when would be a good time for me to come back in. Sadly with my current work hours it's hard to get any appointments in but they sat down with me looked around on the calendar and told me if anything happened to give a call or go on the website to see when I could reschedule so it's great to see they can be flexible with me!! They were very patient with me when my anxiety kicked in, worked with scheduling, but they were up front with me and about my oral health and what improvements were needed. They didn't throw any gimmicks, no sugarcoating, just straight up answers and habits I needed for myself. I can't wait again to see them again if they continue what they are doing now!! read more

Felt like the hygienist and the dentist both rushed through the process just to get me out the door and collect payment. Had to go back the next day to get my filling fixed and felt rushed even more. Instead of asking proper questions and having me try different things to be sure I was just rushed through it again. I had the worst dental experience of my life here, and I am writing this review to warn everyone to stay away from Aspen Dental. I am new to Tulsa, and I wanted to find a good dentist to go to twice a year for cleanings. I have never had a cavity in my life, nor have I had any sort of issue with my teeth. I did a Google search and found Aspen Dental. The reviews seemed overwhelmingly positive, so I scheduled an appointment. Note: Aspen Dental is a corporation, so they have a Call Center that does the majority of their phone work. Typically, I go to local dentist offices. Since I was two months late on my 2x/year cleaning, I wanted to get in asap, and Aspen Dental was able to get me in within ten days. Now, let me tell you about my dentist appointment horror. I arrived at my scheduled appointment, filled out new patient paperwork, and was called back within five minutes. If you are a new patient, you must complete their initiation process. It goes like this: x-rays by assistant, exam by dental hygienist, exam by dentist, price briefing by office manager. I am assuming at some point after the meet-n-greet of the entire staff, you get your teeth cleaned, but I didn't stick around long enough to find out. The x-rays were completed by a machine probably featured in a Saw movie. The process took forever, and the contraptions they used for the x-rays hurt so bad I had sores on the bottom of my mouth. After I endured the torturous x-rays, I went to a private room for what I thought would be a teeth cleaning. The dental hygienist, who was not at all friendly, then proceeded to take measurements/poke my gums to the point of incisions and bleeding. I was clearly in pain, because she apologized twice throughout the examination. Once finished, she relayed that I have multiple issues and will need a deep cleaning. Basically, she said I had periodontal disease. I was shocked. The dentist came in following the news, looked at my teeth for fifteen seconds, said everything was good and then left. He was actually very friendly, but I was confused because he did not confirm what the hygienist diagnosed. I was then visited by the office manager who told me I needed to pay over $300+. She was not very nice. I requested to see the invoice and asked multiple questions about the different items to which she could not answer adequately. It was very uncomfortable and I told her that I was not going to pay for the extra work they wanted to do. She then left the office. I sat in the office all alone, a little confused and then grabbed my stuff and exited the room since I wasn't going to pay for whatever mystery charges they invoiced me. The office manager was walking down the hall, and I asked how to exit since I was just abandoned in a room. She rudely mumbled "down the hall", and I found my way out. Luckily, I was able to schedule an appointment two days after this experience with a LOCAL dentist. My teeth were cleaned thoroughly, and I was informed they were in perfect condition. Aspen Dental is just a corporation trying to rip people off by falsely diagnosing. Stay away. read more

I had an upper denture made less than two years ago. In the first year, I had one of the front teeth fall out 3 different occasions. Finally, they repaired it where the tooth did not fall out. Now, a different front tooth has fallen out. The denture I got was the highest grade that Aspen Dental offered. This is not my first denture but it is the first time I've ever had teeth fall out of the denture. And it's been multiple times! This denture is poor quality, apparently. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. I went here because they had many availabilities but now I see why. Upon entering I stood there for 5 minutes. No one greeted me and there were three ladies sitting at the desks. After a painful examination they diagnosed me with periodontal disease, told me my teeth were falling out, and it would cost close to $4,000 for treatment as they tried to convince me that I don't BRUSH my own teeth. I was shocked as my teeth and gums seemed to be in fine shape. I brush twice a day and floss nightly. Upon receiving the itemized plan, there were a bunch of unnecessary add ons like a $150 toothbrush. The environment felt so intimidating and I felt taken advantage of. I immediately went home and set an appointment for another dentist and what do you know, NO PERIODONTAL DISEASE just did a cleaning. I informed them of what I was told by another dentist (Aspen) and they guessed the place before I even named it! Apparently Aspen dental does this to many patients and the word is spreading around. read more

Went to our trusted dentist for 2nd opinion and found out the claims were bogus and his teeth and gums were fine. Very shady. read more

First and foremost, the dentists are great. Accounting/Insurance is how they rated one star (you can't give zero) I paid for all services up front. When asked to file my dental insurance claim, they duplicated a bill and it has been turned over to collection. BTW - the insurance claim was denied because of wrong coding. My son is a student in Tulsa so can't go to our family dentist. Last cleaning was 1 year ago. He takes care of his teeth and flosses everyday. Is currently under the care of a Tulsa orthodontist with Invisalign. He made an appointment at Aspen for a cleaning. Dentist came in and said xrays looked good, teeth & gums looked good. Then assistant came and checked his gums and said he had severe gum problems and would need an extensive cleaning to the tune of $2300!!! WITH insurance!! Told him that Invisalign causes bacteria in the gums. He called me to ask if this charge was reasonable and I told him absolutely not. He left without having any cleaning done. He called his orthodontist and was told that Invasling does NOT cause bacteria in the gums. We will definitely find a more reputable dental office in Tulsa for him that won't try to take advantage of a college student. But honestly reading other reviews now it looks like they try to take advantage of all their patients. (btw, the breakdown of expenses included a $150 toothbrush!) read more

I am going to preface this review with a couple of things, the first being that I have no insurance, the second being that i have EXTREME dental anxiety. I really did not want to go to the dentist but found that it was kind of an emergency and I was in extreme pain. This was the only place that could get me in on such short notice so I reluctantly went in at 8 am. I only had to wait about 15 minutes, but it didnt feel that long considering I was dreading it anyway, I took every second in the waiting room I could get. Then, my name got called and they took me back to do xrays, the technician was SUPER nice and very understanding and empathetic of my extreme pain. Obviously the xrays are uncomfortable. The woman that left a scathing review about their xray machine must have never been to a damn dentist before because we all know they suck. BUT, he made it suck a little less. Then came the exam to measure my gum tissue, THAT WAS HORRIBLE. But again, they made a horrible experience not so bad. They listened to me, validated me and made me as comfortable as they possibly could. The dentist came in after this and explained my results in the easiest terms as possible and really put me at ease. I have never been to a dentist that was so amazing at validating my fears and my pain level than Aspen. Novocaine doesnt work on me and almost every other dentist I have been to hasnt believed me or didnt care. Alex was incredible receptive of this and told me they would do whatever they had to to ensure I was as comfortable as possible. After this I went to the office manager and she broke down my treatment plan and the financing. I am not insured and this was WAY out of my realm of possibility. Which, hey, dental care is expensive. So, we worked out something I could get done that day that might help with the pain and the hygienist walked me through what I could do on my own to help resolve the problem as well as recommended some low cost and sliding scale dental clinics. The procedure itself was pretty horrendous but the hygienist Jayme tried so hard to make it as comfortable as she could. Even through me crying lol. And, I actually did feel better after, and today I feel even better. This place is incredible and if you have insurance, definitely come here. If you dont, come here for the free xrays and exam and then look up free and low cost dentists, there are about four in the tulsa area. (also, I dont EVER review on yelp. You can see that this is my first review ever and probably the only one I'll do. So if I felt the need to review them, thats how awesome they are. ) read more

I usually have a great visit at this location, but one day I had to do a deep cleaning for my teeth and gums and at the end of the process I was given an electric toothbrush to take home by the dental hygienist. I thought that this was just a "complimentary gift" to take home since i spent almost $2000 to have my gums cleaned and antibiotics put in, but then a couple weeks later I was billed for the electric toothbrush. The fact that this was not disclosed with me at my visit was very unethical. i was able to contact the branch manager and she acknowledged that it was wrong for her dental hygienist to give me the product without disclosing the price that I would have to pay, but she said they were only able to give me a refund if the product has been unused. I was under the impression that this was free and i had the product for 2 weeks therefore, it has been used. So the only other alternative she gave me was to contact oral b to see if they are able to issue a refund. But why should oral b have to cover the cost for something that wasn't their fault? It was one of Aspen's employees mistake for not disclosing this to me. This will be my last time coming to Aspen Dental. Also, next time they try to perform a procedure with you i would definitely recommend getting another quote somewhere else because i feel like i was also overcharged for my procedure.
