I have never done a review before but this warrants such action. I went to Aspen for a loose tooth. I know my teeth are not in the best shape. They did all the x-rays and then Dr came in. He then proceeded to tell me that all of my teeth need to be extracted. I was in shock. He said I have bone loss and there is no other alternative. I believed him he is a professional right? Shortly after the news I was scheduled for the procedure 2 days later. Then they shuffle me off to the finance department. Had to up credit on my care credit card. After I got home and talked to some friends who said get a second opinion! I did just that. Guess what I only need 2 extractions possibly 3! So today I would've been toothless. But now I have a true dentist that cares about me and not how much money they can make off me! Also Aspen charged my credit card $8000.00 before procedure was done! Now they tell me at Aspen it will take two weeks for refund. I have paperwork given to me to file complaint to the state and I plan on doing just that! This way of dentistry needs to end! Would never recommend anyone to step foot in that place! I couldn't choose no stars but they are negative 10 stars in my opinion. read more

What a great experience and I "Hate" going to the dentist. Ashley was great as she took my X-rays and Jennifer was also awesome in explaining our charges and options. I had a simple exam and xrays done and was given an insane quote (even threw on the quote an expensive toothbrush without asking). They removed the "extras" when asked but feel should be asked first not when caught. Was told in person my insurance covers 100% of what was performed but sent me a bill. I verified with my insurance I was not to have any out of pocket and Aspen still said they will see and let me know. HOW is that the answer? They said it was 100% covered my insurance confirmed was 100% covered. I feel they are scamming people with unneeded extras and then what if I just paid this bill blindly as MANY people do, how much 'extra' are they collecting that they shouldn't be? read more

Go local! This major chain brand will not help you with a simple extraction. Don't believe the deceptive emergency walk-in sign either. They did exams, xrays, and made molds because they are forced by their uppers to upsell you dentures instead of helping you. I was wondering why they were doing all this stuff instead of addressing my issue. They they try to get you to sign up for their credit card to pay for the 10000 dollars it would cost. Google them and see all the scandals, data breeches, and class action lawsuits they are involved in, I'm not lying. They want your insurance money. I left in pain and some extra suffering caused by them with the dental pick they stabbed in my gums. My tooth still hurts. Go elsewhere. They were nice people but not helpful. I left with an unaddressed infection. They said I can't have antibiotics because it won't fix the problem...WTF!!?? I have an infection! UPDATE: I went to another local dentist who addressed my problem and gave me antibiotics to help with the infection. They helped me out; now I feel better! Don't let this place mislead, disappoint you, and overcharge you. Be careful as they were involved in a major information leak earlier this year as well. You tried to push a major cleaning on me telling me I have an infection and I need this and that, but less than 12 hours I go to my regular dentist and have a cleaning done and they say my gums look better than they did 6 months ago.....strange that the only one to benefit is Aspen Dental due to the cleaning was $500, and of course my excellent insurance does not cover that. I am glad you pushed for me to do this review and sent me 800 emails to remind me to give you some stars on google, yelp and Facebook. I will make sure I leave my opinion about you all on all platforms, and also let my Dentist know what was "diagnosed" by your staff and see if he has any advice. read more

My husband and I have had a terrible experience with this dental facility. He was told by the dentist he needed to have all of his teeth extracted and was charged for dentures at that appointment. We told the manager that we were getting a second opinion, and we were assured we would get a full refund for the dentures if they turned out to not be necessary. Looking back now, I should have taken it as a red flag that they refused to issue the refund immediately when we were not getting the extraction services with them. . . Now, he has seen two other dentists who said full extraction is not necessary. Unfortunately, Aspen has been extremely difficult to speak to regarding our refund. We have been paying for these dentures we do not need and never received. We had to charge them to a Care Credit card and have been paying interest which can not be recovered. I would recommend DO NOT deal with this facility. They are disingenuous and will do everything to avoid giving you money back for an expensive product you never even got. read more

Elane was wonderful in explaining when my permanent dentures would be provided and the procedure of getting them ready to be fitted cause right now I have temporary ones which my bottoms have been hurting since day one and I have told the dentist and tech about fir 5 months. Elaine was the 1st time meeting her and I told her about it and suggest maybe to cut the end off the bottoms to relief the pain, but she suggested to 1st check if they are rubbing by using some kind of powder to see if they were ( which no one suggested the prior 5 months, which they were) so she trimmed away where they were rubbing and that seemed to fix it! So thank you Elane, I was dredding to go through life with that problem so that's why I suggest to cut the last two teeth of the denture one side to relief the pain, but she figure it out! read more

I took time off of work to go Aspen Dental. I explained that I needed my teeth cleaned and a possible filling. I explained that I needed the procedures done at the time of the appointment and that if this was not possible I would find another dentist. They assured me that it would not be a problem. After the exam they took me to the financial office to discuss the cost after insurance and informed me that they would not be able to do the cleaning and filling at that time as they had promised. They wasted my day and the entire experience was more like buying a used car. Stay away from Aspen Dental!! read more

The first deal to get you in the door is great at $19.00, however all the other procedures are double that of a normal dentist. Friendly staff, kind of weird appointment making. Make sure download and fill out your paper work before you go in. For me they made up things to do (and charge me for) and would not do what I asked them to do. read more

I had 2 exams this year from Dr. Patel. First time he wanted to do 2 crowns and 2 fillings, next time he thought pulling the teeth and doing a partial denture was the answer. I went and got a second opinion from a dentist in Dixon, IL who recommended 1 filling. The employees are wonderful at Aspen but the dentist's recommendations are way too expensive and unnecessary. read more

Corporate dentistry at its worst. Saw great reviews on the website and decided to give it a try since my family dentist is 2 hours away. First off, staff was amazing. Friendly and efficient. No complaints. I was seen right away and treated wonderfully. Then came the sales pitch. I went in for an infected tooth and wanted to see if root canal could help or maybe needed an extraction. My face was swollen and I was in pain. The first thing they try to sell you is a 135 dollar toothbrush. Nice but I'm ok. Then the dentail hygienist checks your teeth for periodontal disease and I scored very low. So did the guy in the room next to me. ‍. So I was told i needed an emergency extraction and a scaling and planing. Today. It was very dangerous if I waited to extract even though I was infected and on antibiotics already. I said ok let's do it. Then the cost. You are taken to billing where a very nice lady (no sarcasm she was great) went over the cost. For one extraction and the scaling: 3,000. All I really needed was this tooth pulled. I said I couldn't afford this today (even though I have care credit). I asked if we could just pull the tooth, the tooth that dr Patel said HAD to come out today to avoid serious health complications. He refused to do so if I didn't pay the 3,0000. Called my family dentist and traveled 90 miles. He said there was no way he could pull it due to there infection. Told me to stay on antibiotics and come back in 10 days. He drilled a hole in my tooth for the abscess to drain. 30 minutes of his time and relief of a painful abscess...$25. I love that guy. Stay away from corporate and stick with old school dentists. Today my pain is almost gone and my swelling down. If I would have pulled this tooth it could have spread the infection. They will use scare tactics at Aspen dental. Get a second opinion. read more

The employees at the Sterling site are wonderful! They're friendly, quick to respond/help and attentive. They're genuinely concerned about your well-being. They get five stars!!! However, the texting that comes from the corporate office is very unreliable. They can't keep straight which phone number goes with which patient among my family members. After several attempts to fix this over a years time with the office staff, I was told that the local can really do nothing about it since that is handled by the corporate office. So we've opted out of text reminders and back to phone call reminders. It is a shame that this newer company can't get the technology in the office right. I would like to stress that this issue I have is only with texting from the corporate office NOT the doctors or other employees in my local office. Corporate texting function gets 3 stars. read more

I wanted to try a new in-network dentist with more convenient hours. Unfortunately, that's about the only good thing. They need more privacy for the bitewings x-ray room, because it's embarrassing to have you sitting there with your mouth wide open with random employees and customers being able to watch what's going on. Although in-network, they can't even bill correctly, so basic claims go pending for months with no response from provider. Then to top it all off, after initial x-rays and doctor checkup, they take you to an office manager to get a treatment plan and cost, but come to find out, that doesn't include everything to get teeth properly done. The good ol' bait and switch to get you hooked into getting a incomplete procedure now, so later it's "oh by the way, sorry that wasn't included, " but of course you need it", but that's an additional charge. That's like going to a car lot and a salesman states here is how much it costs to buy the car, but only because you investigated, that car doesn't include tires, seats or an engine. Come on', the WHOLE treatment estimate should be provided up front without a customer telling them how a complete procedure is done and billed. Really? Shop around. No other local dentist has ever done that. My opinion and experience, but very highly NOT recommended. read more
