We came up with a plan that worked for me financially and also for comfortability. I travel for work and am tired of finding new dentists. I thought getting a nationwide provider would be beneficial. Boy was I wrong. The initial visit was a dentist looking at my teeth, then providing a treatment plan that included $600 dollars worth of extras that insurance wouldn't cover. Had I not asked for a line item breakdown and explanation I would have been very upset at the end. They tried to sell/include a $200 electric tooth brush, oral rinses at twice the cost from the pharmacy. Laser bacterial cleaning. Nitrous Oxide was twice as much as other Dental offices. During my cleaning they stopped the process and wanted me to wait in the 'lounge' for an updated pricing which again included things no other dentist ever wanted to provide. I put a hard stop, walked to the waiting area told the staff to cancel all my scheduled appointments, and left. read more

Horrible. Crappy work and excessive pricing. I paid over 5000 + the insurance help for a single implant. The implant kept falling out. They then screwed it in at an angle to wedge it between two adjacent teeth. This was not the design configuration. I'm not sure how long it will last. Then, they said that I needed two crowns. They claim that the crowns start at about $1,000.00 each. I was shocked when the total estimate was over $7,000.00. That was my part, the insurance also would pay. They had a closer on staff that put the screws to me fairly hard. I left and did not come back. I went to a new dentist (Chaffin). The Caffin dental office told me that I only needed one crown. With my insurance, the crown was about $600.00. Aspen is a crappy organization that is focussed on separating you from your money. read more

First of all, this bill was sent to me after my free consultation. A consultation in which they advertised that they work with ALL insurance plans and have a financial plan to fit everyone's budget! Lies! It's all lies. They do not work with all insurance plans and unless you can afford a 10-15,000 down payment and $1000 monthly payments then they definitely don't have a financial plan to work with everyone. Then trying to call to find out about why you're being charged for something that was supposed to be free you better clear up your entire day to sit on hold with horrible music and it doesn't ever tell you how many callers are before you or what your expected wait time is. My. Are was horrible here. Not only could he professional not repair my dentures. They said hey had to completely do them even though it was a clean split across. Then he price went up and hen hey said they had to add more teeth to it which would be thousands of dollars. Which I don't have. Then they told me my mouth would always be partially open. I tried to ask why would that be couldn't answer. I finally just told them never mind I did not want the financial plan and was not getting work done. This is after multiple attempts to get molds of my teeth the dentist assistant could not do. So had someone else do it. Now there saying we have to pull the rest of my teeth full dentures. Price went up. I'm 8 months pregnant and Everytime I thought they could help they could only help if I paid more money. This was so much stress on me and my inborn child. Talk about a high opinion of himself. The dentist who talked to me about 10 minutes, is all about the money. I have Delta Dental and coverage only covers x-rays and a cleaning. Got the x rays and was told by the hygienist I needed a "deep cleaning" which is not covered by my insurance. But according to the receptionist the DDS will not change his mind and approve a regular cleaning. So ....... I have to find another dentist that will only do a cleaning. So far no luck, pretty sure the DDS won't release my x rays to another dental office. The individuals in this site are incompetent. I've had issues with this site since I've started going there and the only reason why I've not stopped going there was because I paid upfront for services which were barely rendered. Here are a list of what could be done better. 1) fire the office manager and replace with one that would not be perceived as racist. 2) communication is key to an interaction. if there are issues in which a appointment has to be canceled a call to the patient would be nice. 3) if you are going to charge upfront for treatment then every time you go into the office for service of that treatment then you should not be receiving a bill. 4) when you sign up for treatment there should not be multiple dentist working on your plan. This would lend to issues during treatment since everyone's training and methods are slightly different. 5) do not charge patients for unnecessary equipment passing it off as "free" to the patient. If I could give this location 10 stars I'd totally do it. The dentist really took my feelings and anxiety to heart when he extracted all of my teeth 3 weeks ago. Then today I went in for my follow up and to have him help me with some bone spurs I had, well then I had to be numbed up to remove them and he could tell I was very anxious about the numbing meds cuz of the needle. This company over charged for work they did not complete. They charged my dental insurance for work they did not complete. While having a procedure they over sedated me and I stopped breathing a few time. Instead of telling my ride they kept working and started a IV in my lymphodema arm. A big no no. Never once told my ride about any of this. A few visits later they were laughing and told us. I laid in bed three days unaware of what had happened. Unable to process. I was bleeding out of my mouth. BEWARE!!!!!! I had visited the Aspen Dental, in Spokane Valley, many times having everything from root canals to deep cleaning done. I had paid for my treatments done and had a 0.00 balance at the end of my last visit. A couple of weeks later I received a bill for more than 372.00 dollars. After many phone calls, including calling the corporate office and talking to the regional manager, Aspen Dental would not remove the bill. There was multiple insurance claims that were not paid completely. The Aspen Dental office I visited had did not tell me there was any outstanding claims or provide me with any paperwork so. As a new patient I was coming in for the 2nd time. Long story short, I was told 3 different prices, billed for work on my credit card that had not even been done yet and never given a print out of what I was going to be charged for. I had to make two calls to get the print out.I was told the finance woman was new on the job and had made several errors. I wrote a review on their site but funny how that never posted. Dr. JB placed two dental implants in my husband's lower jaw. From our consultation/x-ray appointment to the surgery day; he was professional, detailed, and a wonderful teacher about how the surgery would go. The procedure was seamless and went just as planned. My husband was feeling better within a few days. Dr. JB even called the day after surgery to see how he was feeling. His bedside manner alone would make me a return patient, but that along with the precise work he did makes him a real asset to Aspen Dental. This office is absolutely awful!! The office manager never answers her phone or returns calls (I see this complaint all over the internet but now can tell you first hand). I will be changing my insurance plan so that I no longer have Aspen as my only in network provider. I had a small chip in my tooth that the Dr. refused to fill and said that a $1700 veneer was my only option. I refused to do that and said I wanted to get a second opinion. I saw the most wonderful office, highly recommended by a friend (Dr. Delwyn Dick in Coeur d Alene) who had absolutely no problem filling my chip and did such a beautiful job for a fraction of the cost!! Do NOT waste your money or time with Aspen. I would rather pay out of pocket for amazing professionals than suffer at the hands of unqualified, unprofessional "dentists ". The only reason I gave them one star is that the site will not let you give negative stars. They pulled my wife's teeth and let her sit for ten months without being able to eat anything but mush. When she first went there, the lady (?) at the front desk asked her first name and how were we going to pay. It has been 11 months now and we have to go to another dentist to get the work finished. My wife still has the healing plate in. So when we go to get her dental records, they decide that the HIPAA laws don't apply to them and won't give them to us. 25k seems a bit excessive to have teeth pulled and they seem to be amazed when you get upset. read more

Let me start by giving you my back round, I worked in dental offices for 27 years doing front desk duties and chair side assisting. Unfortunately our insurance only had Aspen Dental as the PPO. I had heard rumors about the quality of care, figured some of the rumors were false. Wrong!! The full mouth set of x-rays they took at the first visit was the worst quality I have seen in my life. I do have some periodontal disease. I have invested thousands of dollars in Periodontal surgery and TX. When the Dr. came into do my exam the first thing she mentioned before even looking in my mouth was the need for a "deep cleaning". AND to be aware of the need for dentures in a year or two! Dr. should have looked at my tissue and quality of home care ( which is immaculate). Fast forward 5 years after transferring to a quality dental office, I still have all my teeth and a healthy mouth. As for the people who have written positive reviews I'm glad they got you out of pain. We ended being billed an extra $1500 above insurance without notice, was told we were going to be sent to collections if we didn't pay, unable to work out financial plan since we did not do it before work, took payment in full without a in full payment discount. Came in to start getting ready for dentures. I wanted all but 2 bottom teeth pulled so my bottom teeth would fit better. These ass hats to my surprise only pulled 4 leaving me with 7. Not like I had any control under the knife. There was absolutely NO communication as to why or what. So I go in to get my permanent teeth and they were like oh yeah, you'll need to pay an additional $500 for your bottoms because they will have metal in them. I played everything up front!!! So hidden cost number one. So ok, I'm pissed but I'll pay $500 cuz I want my bottom teeth to be permanent not temporary. Then they were like oh, we cant do it because you have 5 bad teeth, and they'll need to be pulled in order for your new bottom teeth to not cause damage to your mouth. The 2 teeth you originally wanted pulled need to be pulled which will now cost you $1,100. I have the money, but to have more bottom teeth pulled that should of been pulled in the first place involves another damn healing process!! This could of been all handled in the first place and already payed for. I am not going to get my bottom teeth done here, I am going somewhere else. I just wish I would never had gone here in the first damn place. Please, there are other options out there for you to get your teeth done with no lying. Go somewhere else. This place is a FN joke. Worst treatment I have ever expirienced. There are really no words to describe how degraded and really dehumanized this visit left me feeling. I was in an excrutiating amount of pain. Enough so I had to leave a corporate meeting at my job. By the time I got to the dentist I was in so much pain I was starting to panic. I am not one to cry, especially in public and I was bawling begging for help and the front desk lady and the dental hygenist both were insensitive to say the least, I felt like they were exasperated or looking at me like a attention hound, drug seeker. The dentist comes into the exam room, doesnt greet me or introduce herself just coldly states I have two teeth infected and need them extracted. She then turned and left and I was escorted to the finance area where they gave me a price, I was still reeling from the pain the brusque attitude of the entire staff and the news I was looking at losing two teeth. I knew I had to get back to work and wanted to get a second opinion so I stated I would consider it and if I could some antibiotiucs to combat the infection. They then stated that the there was need to treat the infection that they just need to remove the source and would not do anything until they recieve payment. I was then reduced to asking for them to please help me with pain management which they replied she would ask the dentist when she had a moment and get a hold of me if they decided to help. I was 20 minutes early,you needed my bottom plate, instead of telling me when I went in you left me in the room for 30 minutes then decided to let me know you still needed the bottom. Had you just said you needed it and let me know I could have driven home and brought it back. Now because of your mistakes I am without bottom teeth again for at least another week. Took a Friend to Aspen Dental in the Valley yesterday. Was charged $337.00 for a cleaning and Dental Hygenist spent less than 20 minutes cleaning her teeth. When I asked about the cost at the onset of the appointment I was told it was because it was a deep cleaning and would be at a minimum of one hour to an hour and a half. $113 of this bill was for Topical Fluoride, Velscope Oral Cancer Screen and Sod Gel. Super friendly staff but the dentist ruined my teeth. I have never had any problems with my teeth until after going here. The year prior I went to a dentist where I used to live and was told I had no cavities. I went to Aspen Dental after moving here simply to get my teeth cleaned. They did x-rays and told me I needed to have 5 cavities filled! I wasn't sure how that was possible but, assumed a dentist wouldn't drill on your teeth if it wasn't absolutely necessary. So, I made an appointment to have them taken care of. I had to go back several times because my fillings would fall out and he left broken pieces of spacer wedges in my gums. I never had any pain or sensitivity prior to having said cavities filled. But now, my teeth hurt all the time! It started to feel like I had ACTUAL cavities where he supposedly filled them. He sanded parts of my teeth so far down that now my teeth no longer align. I get such sharp pains in the nerves of my teeth into my jaw now that it gives me the most painful migraines. I literally take 8 different types of headache medicine everyday just to be able to function. I'm now facing thousands of dollars worth of work on my teeth to try and repair some of the damage done at Aspen Dental. All of this after wanting nothing more than a simple cleaning....I don't like talking bad about people, especially nice ones but, It concerns me that this dentist did more damage to my mouth then I will ever fully be able to fix and he continues to work on others. read more

They made me come back for two cleanings, so I let the first crappy one go thinking oh they'll do a great job since I'm getting two. No!
