It's a laid back office where you will definitely feel comfortable and confident. Also, if you don't have insurance it is one of the most affordable places in the area!!!

If you have any issues with tooth sensitivity or requests…read moreto be accommodated for the issue, it is taken as a personal attack this dentist's practice. I called in recently to have a tooth looked at because I had ongoing pain and something that felt like a crack in tooth that was filled not too long ago. I was worried, because , I ended getting a tooth pulled early in the year, after this dentist ignored my concerns about that same tooth some time prior. So with this new tooth, I requested that she inform if there was any problem, and that I reschedule for another appointment, to have the tooth treated then because of my work schedule. She was non-responsive. She examined and prodded my tooth with different tools. I asked what she was doing and if she seen a problem, she looked at me with a smirk on her face and told me to "sit back". I got out of the seat, and explained my problem, and proceeded to leave. She then said there was no decay or any other seen problem. Her staff have become rude. I have gotten one too many rude looks and sarcastic remarks from them. Apparently I now have no privilege to pay my bill via card by phone. I believe she works best with children or just folks she deems worth it from the neighborhood. I have already cancelled further appointments. Leaving this place feeling super embarrassed. After, over 10 years of going to this practice, since I was a child, not sure what happened.

However, today's visit was extremely disappointing. My son has special needs, and consistency and familiarity are very important for his comfort and cooperation during appointments. Despite this, he was assigned a different hygienist without any prior notice or consideration for his needs. On top of that, we were made to wait while another patient who arrived after us was taken ahead of him. There was no explanation, acknowledgment, or apology at the time. When I brought my concerns to the front desk, the only response I received was, "we dropped the ball," which felt dismissive and did not address the situation in a meaningful way. This entire experience showed a lack of communication, sensitivity, and respect for my son's needs. I truly hope this office takes feedback like this seriously and makes improvements, especially when it comes to accommodating patients with special needs. Because of this review I wrote on Google I was called and told me my husband and 4 children can't be seen at this office anymore because I blasted them to the world.

After a nightmare of events in Seattle, WA, my failed root canal due to a furnication perforation…read more(ie. caused by the endodontist) ended up not being able to be saved so I had my tooth extracted by Dr. Brodine. While waiting for the bone to heal back, my molar repositioned and shifted forward, making it impossible to place a crown in the location my tooth was previously extracted. Therefore, Dr. Brodine referred me to Dr. Wood, to have my last molar realigned in order to be able to fit an implant crown adjacent to it. Dr. Wood's office is extremely aesthetic, clean and inviting. I felt at ease going into every appointment knowing that I would be taken care of. The moment you step in, you're greeted at the front desk and shortly afterwards you are brought back. I love how there's barely any wait time and you get seen on time. I worked primarily with Bethany who has excellent bedside manner and was always very patient with answering any questions I had. Dr. Wood is also very kind, invited questions and made sure I understood what we were doing. They turned an unfortunate experience and made it into a good one. At this practice, you will feel heard and understood. I grind a lot at night so I was given an aligner with biocryl (thicker material) once my attachments came off. It's really nice how the attachments I received are very discrete and nobody noticed them unless they worked in the dental field. This is something that's extremely important especially as an adult requiring orthodontics. After ~10 months of treatment, the gap where my tooth was extracted was large enough where my prosthodontist was able to put in a crown. I highly recommend Dr. Wood and her practice. As someone who has never had any orthodontic procedures performed before, Dr. Wood and her team made me feel at ease. Thank you so much Dr. Wood and Bethany!

I originally posted this review under a different location by mistake, even though I had never…read morevisited that office. This review is intended for the correct location. This dental clinic is part of the URMC hospital system. In addition to regular dental appointments upstairs, they also offer urgent dental care for patients who are not already part of the system, which is incredibly helpful in an emergency. They accept most insurance plans. My only minor complaint is that the signage and check in process could be clearer. If it's your first visit, it may take a little extra time to figure out exactly where to go and how to get started. For routine dental care, you can receive comprehensive treatment here, but be aware that scheduling an appointment may take some time. This is on the first floor. If you just need a dentist call in and make an appointment with general dentistry. For urgent care, you complete a form, wait to be called, and then are seen based on the severity of your issue from my view point. From what I understand, Mondays and Fridays tend to be especially busy. I arrived a few minutes after 8:00 AM for a dental emergency, and the waiting room was already full. Even so, from check-in to the completion of my visit, the entire process took about an hour and a half, which I thought was quite reasonable considering the circumstances. Of course, the total time will depend on the treatment you need and how many patients, staff and what they need to take care of. The staff were pleasant, helpful, and professional. The dentists, hygienists, and other clinical staff were knowledgeable, friendly. One thing to note is that you may be treated by dental professionals who are completing advanced training or working toward licensure in the United States. Many are experienced dentists from other countries. Rest assured, they work under the supervision of licensed dentists and instructors, so you are in very capable hands. The clinic is easily accessible by public transportation, and there is a parking garage available on site. However, parking is not validated I know it's annoying and believe me people were annoyed. Oh well.....

Eastman Dental Specialty Care claims to be for people with disabilities or those with for complex…read moreneeds etc etc etc. I have epilepsy and always have to battle for basic human care not only with them but with university of Rochester as a whole. I have started the process of getting my extractions done so I can get dentures. (Well partial dentures because they decided on their own that they want me to have partials and I have no say in my care) anyway so i have advocacy for pain management and doctor letters and everything explaining that pain is my number one trigger of my seizures. Their advice when they pulled my two front teeth was advil. I give up on advocating for myself and everyday since May 11th when that procedure happened I've had at least 1 if not 2 seizures a day. They dont care about the disabled. They will lie and say they dont take medicaid or medicare and then leave you in pain for apparently what could take up to 3 weeks which if you are a compromised patient like myself could end up in some not so pretty situations. I've gotten to the point where I've given up and don't care if I have more seizures or even break my 9 year grand Mal free streak. I have a no medical assistance order and when I die due to their incompetence my family will be rich.

For a while, the machine to rinse my mouth did not work for the simple reason that the assistant inserted it incorrectly, leaving me to sit around with a huge, sensitive hole in my mouth for 20 minutes. When FINALLY done in this very unprofessional process, where the dentist seemed unsure of her practice, I was referred to the Strong Hospital for a wisdom teeth removal. Or so I thought: upon calling the hospital, no referral was placed. I called back to highland, which assured me they corrected the issue, but upon calling Strong I have been informed no referral has been issued. Roll back to a month later and my tooth with a "corrected" filling is in excruciating pain. I do not yet know the reason, but my previous filling wasn't as deep as this new one, leaving me wondering whether any mistake has been made. I don't even know where to turn without having to go to Highland Dental AGAIN!!!

Ok I understood that part but they did not treat me for the pain! Instead on my second visit they gave me Sensodine toothpaste and new toothbrush and sent me home to see if the pain would stop and schedule me for a third visit two weeks later!!! Bet they had a good laugh about that. I called them the next week begging for help they suggested I go to Strong Emergency because they were all booked up. Strong sent me to urgent care across from them at Eastman Dental, they took x-rays and did an emergency Pulpotomy (half of a root canal) on me, numbed me several times too. Also they gave me TWO prescriptions for pain and an antibiotic. God bless that doctor, she stuck with me for over two hours to work on that tooth. Dr. Barron and that office should be sued for malpractice!!!! I may look into that. Just because a person is poor you should not treat them like animals!! I'm sure there are others out there who have been treated as badly as I have by them.
