Worst place to get an appointment. I've set an appointment twice and each time they canceled on me without notice because they did not get verbal confirmation. They call me at office hours, obviously cannot talk on the phone at work or I'm fired. I give them two email confirmations and they still cancel on me. Now, they told me I could do a walk-in before 7:30. I was there at 7:10, and they told me they're sorry, not taking walk-ins at this time. It's plastered out there that walk-ins are welcome. I don't talk on the phone anymore since my smile was mutilated into something ugly and deformed looking and since the crooked and uneven bite pressure started causing me pain in my jaw. This entire experience has robbed me of my desire to meet people, make friends, or be part of any type of community. The world is an ugly place when a doctor can do this to someone and get away with it. And if you can't trust your doctor then who can you trust? Was the money you got paid ever really earned when the final results are nothing at all like anyone would ever want. You turned something beautiful into something ugly. Appointment was at 9am and I was done by 10am . She says that my insurance was declined . I realized I gave her the wrong card . I gave her my credit card and asked her to hold it while I go get my dental insurance card out my car . Took less than 3 min . She charged my credit card anyway . My husband and I both went on the same day and same time for cleanings. We were both told separately that there would be no charge and that initially they would do a totally free consultation. After we each had a consultation, we left and tried to schedule a cleaning. We were denied the cleaning unless we received periodontal cleaning costing over $2,000 each. Then surprisingly I received a bill for the x-rays. When I called to dispute the bill I was told I received the bill because I provided my insurance information. My husband did not receive a bill because he was smart enough not to provide it. I went back to my previous dentist who not only cleaned my teeth, but advised that they would be happy to perform periodontal services and the estimate was for $345.00. I have no idea how good Aspen Dental is. What I do know based on my personal experience with them is that this practice is not honest and they will try to get you for as much money as they can. When I booked my appointment at Aspen Dental I should have been told a "new patient" visit takes OVER 3.5 HOURS!! - I spent less time than that GIVING BIRTH to each of my 3 kids! The staff is friendly and facility is pleasant. I went in for help with a broken molar; expecting it to be addressed as THE priority of the visit and that it would be extracted during the visit. I received an x-ray series, an exam of condition of teeth and gums by hygienist, a REVIEW of the exam of my teeth and gums by the dentist (all totaling 3 hrs., incl. 2 hrs. wait time). Serious talk of periodontal disease, scaling and planing teeth my, antibiotic treatment (@ $101 per tooth!), health conditions that I do not have, replacing a missing cap with a root canal (never recommended before).... all recommended in an $12,000+ dental plan (cash) in addition to extracting the one broken tooth that was NOT extracted that day - the only REASON for the appointment THAT DAY! As I had to travel out-of-state the next day for a week, I have additionally lost a silver filling from either the broken molar or a neighboring tooth. I was really upset when I booked my appointment- and needed and wanted assistance- but ultimately received no dental help at all after a visit of almost 4 hours! I feel duped. read more

I am very disappointed in Aspen Dental in Pooler Georgia. I had a cleaning done in June 2022 and have been trying to get a billing error corrected since July 2022. Every time I call the office they give me an excuse of why the billing error has not been resolved. They promise to call me with an update but in almost a year of trying to get this resolved I have only gotten one phone call with an update and that was only to say they had not resolved the problem. I paid with a credit card the charge that my insurance would not pay on the day of the cleaning. My insurance paid the allowed amount. Later I received a bill for the charge which I had paid on the same day my teeth were cleaned. I have called about this charge error multiple times and given them copy of my credit card receipt for payment of this charge. The last time I called on 5/22/2023 they said they were switching systems and would give me a call back. I was also told that they did have my written documentation which again included my credit card receipt for the payment. There have been other problems with charges that was not done for my husband or charges that they said my insurance would not cover but on checking my insurance company said the procedure was covered. Those times they took care of the issue right away but my feeling is that the billing procedure is not by people that know what they are doing. I just checked my account today (5/31/2023) and now I see my account balance has gone up to $100. I have no explanation of why. Is this a late charge for this procedure that they will not resolved as I have not been to them since June 2022. Just go somewhere else. This place is a rip off. They bring you in with their warm and fuzzy free exam and then it goes down hill from there. After my exam I was brought into an office and present with what I thought was an over priced quote for a deep clean over $2,000 after insurance. I asked a few questions and raised concern over the charges and was told, "I don't know what to tell you, these are our prices". I immediately left and glad I did. I decided to get a second opinion. Mid-September I found a cavity in my eye tooth. I checked with 3 oral surgeons and 3 dentists. The other oral surgeons wanted to do extra that I did not want, for extra money. Dr. Scarbrough did not do that. He took care of the tooth in trouble and did not try to talk me into anything extra. I really respect him for that. He and his team are caring, kind, and professional. I highly recommend them. I also recommend Aspen Dental in Pooler. They have an in-house lab and made my flipper in 2 days. Professional services are always on the bubble. Everyone and everything is soooo expensive. Of course, one (perceived) false move and suddenly they're horrible people to avoid. (Whatever) I've been the client of two Very Well Known dentists in Savannah. I have horrible oral health due to medication and genetics. They both failed me. I never knew which dentist would show up, the technicians were vapid, and I really don't think they listened to me. But boy, they had a spectacular plan for me!! (Sarcasm) Aspen has been great. They assist with financing (the only way I could get the necessary work done), they have a dialogue with me about the full experience, they're willing to change the plan mid-stream, if I'm disappointed. I was highly scrutinized when I questioned the first two dentists. "How could I possibly know...?" condescending tone, and I walked out when I was shown to be correct. Dr. Patel is no-nonsense, but has a great sense of humor. The staff is very helpful and more knowledgeable than past experiences, and they don't quibble over 'things' you need. Then told me under tape record that they are abandoned me and my care and keeping my 19,050.00. as well their own Aspen dental other store said Dr Patel messed my mouth up and they will charge 10,800.00 to see if they can attempt to fix. The regional rep called me and told me while tape recordings saying we are not finishing or repairing your implants or dentures that don't fit. I went to the Aspen dental office in Pooler 4 months ago for a cleaning. I was told I needed to remove an old metal filling, and fill a small cavity in a premolar. I was then seen by Dr. Patel to have my fillings taken care of. When she started working on my mouth she gave me a shot on my upper right side for the premolar and then she gave me three shots on the left side for my lower molar. The best way I can describe the three shots that she gave me was brutal. She did it fast. Bam Bam Bam. Then she proceeded to stick a large mermaid tail rubber thing in my mouth that did not fit. I told her it hurt. She still shoved it in anyway because everyone had gone to lunch and she didn't have an assistant. She proceeded to do my fillings and when she was done she sent me on my way. When I left the office I was so numb I had to literally stick a tampon in my mouth to not bite my tongue off and to collect all of the saliva. I wasn't offered any gauze to put in my mouth. I was in excruciating pain the entire day. The next day I was not able to open my mouth because of the amount of pain in my jaw. I gave it three days and my teeth and jaw were still in pain. I called the office and they set me up with an appointment with Dr. Tanner. He repeated the process of filling my cavities. This experience was very different. His bedside manner was amazing and when he gave me the shots that I was anticipating he was very gentle. He massaged my cheek as he was putting the injections in and it didn't hurt nearly as much as when Dr. P so brutally did it. I discussed with him my jaw pain and my fear of having all those things shoved in my mouth again. He very kindly told me that he had no reason to do that. (Which makes me question. Why would this lady do it to me in the first place?) He also stopped every few minutes so that I can stretch my jaw out so I wouldn't have the same issues. Dr. Tanner and his assistant give me a much better experience. However, three days later I was still in pain. I went back in and Dr. Tanner told me he was going to redo the other filling Dr. P did. And I was confused because it was only supposed to be two fillings and now I'm learning she had done 3!?!?!! My teeth had no problem before Dr. P touched my mouth and now I have to get root canals done which I cannot afford. To top it all off my insurance was charged every time I went back in to fix what they couldn't get right the 1st time. I have canceled my future appointments with Aspen Dental office. I came in for a new patient cleaning with my paperwork already filled out and ready to go. I was asked to be there at 3:45, but by 4:30 the staff had not called me back or addressed the long wait. I tried to talk to the front desk receptionist, who had been welcoming, about the wait, but she was tied up on the phone. I explained how long I had been waiting past my appointment time, and she mouthed "okay" while still on the phone. Didn't even stay for the appointment - my husband had to take off work to watch our newborn so I could go, and the practice couldn't even handle a simple efficient cleaning. Don't go to Aspen Dental. I have been around dentistry all my life. My dad, grandfather, uncle and several cousins were dentists. I was a surgical assistant for 2 oral surgeons, a chairside assistant for general dentists, a periodontist, and an endodontist. So, I have a pretty good idea what good dentistry is. It is an art form. With all my relatives no longer living I have not been able to find a good dentist since moving to Georgia. Aspen Dental is not good at all. I was scheduled for the repair of a broken tooth with no pain. With my insurance my part of the cost (I was told) would be $121.00. I understood that this treatment was a temporary measure and I would need a crown at a later date. When I arrived for my appointment I was told I owed $800+ for a crown prep. I had not scheduled a crown prep. I'm retired and needed some time to save for this expensive procedure, (They had not seen the tooth in question, yet). I told the dentist that I was aware I needed a crown, but would have to wait til I had my 85% of the cost. She said ok, she would remove any decay present and put in a temporary filling and that I should not eat anything hard to chew on that side. I agreed. A short time later my tooth was fixed and I left having paid my portion, $121.00. About a month later I received a bill for an additional $195.00 and the bill stated that a core build-up and pins were placed. No such work was done. I have assisted on many core build up and pin placements and I know what is involved. I have also had several done in my mouth and know what it feels like to have pins placed (use of a slow speed handpiece causes a slight vibration when the pins are put in placed). The "build-up" fell out a month ago and the tooth is decayed. Aspen Dental will say that I don't take care of my mouth. I do and always have so that won't fly. I have been lucky enough to have the best dental care for most of my life. If any of my dental relatives were still living I would be going to them for treatment instead. Aspen Dental is just a factory. Get them in and out as fast as possible, charge as much as you can, don't explain what needs to be done and how it will be done (the general public has no understanding of what dentistry actually is, so a detailed explanation is necessary), and don't worry about the quality of work. Even with a terminal brain tumor, my dad practiced better dentistry than Aspen Dental at any location. read more

I wish I could give "No star", but it would not let me do so. My wife and I visited this office for the first time, but the first visit became our last visit. I was told by the dental hygienist that I needed Periodontal treatment. I agreed to do the treatment and the office assistant manger (Merissa) said that she will check with my insurance and will call me back the following day with the out of packet cost for the treatment. She calls me the following day and gives me the total cost out of pocket which I agreed and went the their office the following day for the treatment. The dental hygienist cleaned my teeth in about ten minutes and then she said I was good to go. When I asked, "what about antibiotics treatment?" She said there's will be additional cost for the antibiotics if I chose to do that. I was very disappointed because Merissa didn't tell me that over the phone and I had the impression that everything would be covered with that charge I paid already on that day. I asked for clarification but she was on break. The office manager said she will call me back, but they never called me back to explain the confusion. They also charged me $135 for an electric tooth brush without asking me if I wanted it. I checked the tooth brush price In Walmart and it was showing only $79 for the exact same toothbrush, so I decided to return it. I finally had to call them after week of not hearing from them and the office assistant manager was so rude and unprofessional explaining me where the confusion came from. I went here after checking the yelp reviews of Howard Dental. I was favorably impressed. I had a broken tooth and toothache, after ex-rays and exam, they told me exactly what they found. They offered me a choice of options between extraction and crowns with root canals, they laid out what everything would cost. I went with a plan involving 2 days of work, and an option of making 3 payments, instead of one large one. Dr. Patel is as honest and as good a Dentist as I've ever met. I went to aspen dental last August's and paid 5000.00 CASH to have my teeth pulled and for a set of dentures everything went fine I go back in to be fitted for my permanen set of dentures now the day I had my teeth pulled they put in a set to wear until my swelling went down usually takes 9 months or so to get permanent dentures I go back in July to get fitted and Amber tells me that I have to pay an additional amount of 315.00 for my bottom plates they have to be out sourced because they don't do the bottom plates there BUT they made my first set of bottom plates there when they pulled my teeth out so now I can't get my dentures until I pay 315.00 plus the 5000.00 cash money I already paid and was given a receipt for and that was it I just had to wait for the swelling to go down and get my permanent set So now I don't have my dentures I have paid for unless I pay more money I'm not sure what to do about them holding my dentures hostage for something I've already paid for so please don't waste your money here they take your money and leave you hanging around with no dent. Worst dental experience ever! They lack experience and management. Avoid this practice if possible!! I was a new patient and even though I filled out all my paperwork before I came to my appointment I still had to wait 45 minutes. Then once I was called they had to X-ray my teeth and the assistant kept gouging my gums which was very painful. Then the dentist didn't even do a cleaning (the reason I came in). She just looked at my X-ray and tried to convince me to whiten my teeth and hurried out the door. Lastly, when it came time to check out (completely uncoordinated) and wanted to run through the invoice with me. I did not have a positive experience. I should of had my previous dentist forward my chart because I ended up having extensive x rays taken one full mouth X-ray standing up and 10 or so at various angles sitting down. The dentist told me I had to get a deep cleaning. This is without her looking in my mouth. I tried to tell her that I just had my teeth cleaned in April and my previous dentist never mentioned need a deep cleaning. I requested just a regular check up and cleaning and she refused saying I need this service. I left without getting a cleaning because I felt she was trying to pressure me into a procedure I was not familiar with or agreed with. Attention everyone Avoid this practice: I had been a Customer / patient for about a year. The only reason I stayed that long was I was on a dental plan with some bridge and crown work. During the entire process there was always issues. The bridge not matching my teeth, crowns not matching , always going back for a follow up once a crown was installed because the bite was not right and that was after they had made adjustments before I left the office. At one point on a temporary crown part of it had broke off and left a sharp edge which rubbed a sore on my tongue; I called them up and they said the next available opening they had would be in about a week, So I just took a finger nail file and filed it down myself.. Just recently I finally had enough when they installed two crowns and again could not get my bite right and wasted my time for the third time on sending a crown back for the color not matching. I have had a temporary crown in over a month because of this issue (unbelievable).(Again avoid this practice) Don't be fooled by appearance of the facility or staff. When I pay over a thousand dollars per crown you better believe I want customer satisfaction .The Dentists in my opinion are incompetent, lack experience, leadership, don't pay attention to detail and do not provide good quality of care. I had a wonderful experience at Aspen Dental. The staff were kind and professional and the office was comfortable. However, what really made the visit worth reviewing was the fact that the staff treated me like a person with valid health concerns and not a cash cow or a "difficult patient." Nobody tried to pressure me into having unnecessary treatments, and the x-ray tech explained the clinic's policy regarding x-rays (every 6 months to 3 years depending on the type of x-ray). This is my first time visiting this particular branch and I am extremely disappointed. GPS took us to a wrong location, causing us to cut it close to our appointment time. When I called to let them know I was, in fact, still coming, they assured me I would not need to be rescheduled and that I would still be able to keep my current appointment. After arriving at 2:00 pm on the dot, I then sat in the waiting room for 50 minutes before being seen for my xrays. After these, I was delivered by a very unprofessional hygienist to my exam station. I have been sitting in this chair waiting to be acknowledged for 54 minutes. I was just now told that no, I would NOT BE getting my scheduled cleaning today, could I come back tomorrow. I loved the staff but that's not enough, I've had this infected tooth for a week and a half. I woke up last night in absolute pain, half of my face swollen so I start looking for places to go and I find Aspen Dental, made an appointment this morning and got in today. Honestly after reading their website it said they did relief for swollen jaws, relief from infected teeth and relief from pain. I expected some form of pain relief whether it be draining the abcess or medication I received neither. They got me some amoxicillin and told me to take Ibuprofen. Like honestly? OTC painkillers for a tooth infection, swollen jaw and pain? They spent more time trying to talk to me about paying them nearly $10000.00 to pull out most of my teeth and get dentures. I expected to get my pain relieved and an abcess drained. I want to say that the staff were great, friendly, but apparently don't know the extent of pain from a swollen jaw, infected tooth and pus buildup. read more

I scheduled an appt a week ago, and needed to get in before nov. 30 because my insurance would run out.... they scheduled me for the 27th and they waited until the 25th (the day before thanksgiving) to tell me they had to reschedule it because there wouldn't be a dentist. They couldn't reschedule it in time for me to use my insurance and left me NO time to try to find another dentist. Sickening read more

I called and made appointment as new patient to do some dental work, I arrived about 30 minutes before my scheduled appointment time to finish the paperwork since I was a new patient. Long story short; first I encountered poor customer service then I waited for more than 50 minutes after my appointment time. I went and asked the lady at the front desk who told me that the x-ray machine wasn't working. I waited and saw other patients who came several minutes after me were called one after the other and I was still waiting. I wish I didn't spent my time there if I knew. read more
