The dentists and staff are all excellent, from the initial phone call to the dental chair. Every time I come in, they're always laughing and smiling while still professional. I haven't been a client long but have had multiple procedures already, and they always make sure I am 100% comfortable. The staff is un knowledgeable in that they didn't know that they don't have prosthodontist that work there, and I asked them specifically as to whether they did prosthetics attached to implants and they said yes and they don't. I came for a toothache. I was called in 2 minutes after my scheduled appointment. Not bad for a Dr. office. I felt like a honored guest as they took multiple x rays with a high tech machine. The dental assistant completely explained what the x rays revealed. Most complete set I have had in my 65 years. Best explanation ever. Dr. Wood then came in and explained why my tooth was hurting and gave options to repair. I was totally impressed with everyone. Friendly, Very professional and exceptionally informative. They all had places to go, yet there was not the feeling that I was a hindrance to get there. All total I was in the office for 1.5 hours and it went fast. The downside is that at the end I was ushered into an office and offered a complete dental repair. It was very low key, no high preasure sales. I left with a 4 page detailed list of work that needed to be done and the cost for each part. I came in for a tooth ache not to repair 65 years of dental neglect. I am returning for a cleaning and will return for regular dental work in the future. read more

The Staff are all amazing from the Office Personal to the Dental Assistants to the Dentists. They listened to me, worked with me on scheduling, payment and procedures. The only thing I would say to watch out for is they try to push a $200.00 toothbrush and water pick on you (which is secretly hidden in the cleaning procedure and not covered by insurance) I'm sure this is probably pushed from corporate, but be aware, you can always shop for one on your own if you want to upgrade your hygiene products. Other than that this place is aces, and I will continue to go back. read more

Be careful of when you set your appointment if someone cancels before you they will force you to push up your scheduled app even if it doesn't work for you or they will just cancel your app all together making your life just another day in hell with either the pain the smell or taste let alone trying to talk to someone face to face and worrying about talking directly at them I also couldn't afford a day off because my time off doesn't pay me the same as a working day so it's basically like they took food off my dinner table read more

Wasted my time. You should improve your scheduling system to keep existing patients and potential ones. Good customer service is about respecting people's time, just like you want your patients to arrive and keep their appointments! I am a new patient. I arrived today at your Monaca PA branch with a confirmed appointment thru email and text but the receptionist informed me that it was cancelled. First of all, you should not be informing patients on the day of the appointment that there is a cancellation. Time is money, people like me who work or employed have to schedule our leave requests days in advance in order to get approval to go to medical and dental appointments. I am disappointed. I realized now that I have to stick supporting local dental offices instead of commercialized establishments like yours since you can not even make your appointment/scheduling system right. read more

I'd give zero stars if I could. They had ONE good doctor, doctor Healy, and they lost her. It's no surprise because their office staff is rude and terrible. Before booking for them, proceed with caution. They tell you one thing and bill you for another. I insisted to them I did not want any kind of irrigation done during my cleaning and I was told I was only receiving a standard cleaning. Wasn't until I received a hefty bill that I knew they billed me for periodontal work. The office manager is foul mouthed, very nasty. All I asked was that they rectify my bill and I'd pay for everything I had done. They told me to dispute it with my dental insurance, so I did. Found out today they won't cooperate with my insurer's investigation. This has been on going since August 2022. Their office redirected me to corporate, I called corporate and they said the monaca office is a privately owned franchise so they have to change their billing. My wife and I were both patients. Don't know what happened but service is terrible. Can't get an appointment even if in severe tooth pain for several days and then told you had to wait several weeks to have it taken care of at the cost of several thousand dollars. We will never return. read more

Don't do it man! Don't do it. I have been dealing with them since March on extractions and dentures. They told me my portion of the cost was $1200 yet insurance said I should pay $142. Insurance paid them in July. I called the insurance company and got the check #'s they issued and found out that they were cashed in July. I had paid them $1200 and now I am trying to get a credit back on my credit card. They won't issue it. Monaca office tells me it's a problem with "corporate". I told Monaca that I had the check #'s and the dates they were cashed and asked Debbie if she wanted them. She said "no - it won't do you any good". I called "corporate" and talked with who I thought was a very knowledgeable person who had all my info in front of her. She told me she was looking into it and would call me back instead of waiting on hold. That was 5 days ago and still no call. Aspen Dental got paid by me and by the insurance company. I filed a complaint with the credit card company and with the BBB. Still no resolution. read more

Scheduled for an extraction and implant at Monaca through the office in Boardman, Ohio. Appointment was made a week in advance. Appointment was confirmed twice by the office during the week prior to the visit. Checked in at the office, prepaid for the care and was shown to a treatment room. Once in the room I was told that the procedure could not be done that day because I needed a medical release. The reason for the medical release was clearly noted in my chart that had been updated the week prior. I was further told that I would need to wait a month until a surgeon was back in the office. No attempt was made to inform me of the need for a release prior to my showing up in the office. Could go on and on but suggest you avoid this office for your treatment needs. Had work done there on the 15th of August, I had some pain but I figured I'd tough it out and give it some time, not be such a sissy, right off the bat, well, the pain got worse, I couldn't eat, I couldn't touch my back top and bottom molars together without searing pain, even speaking some words was becoming painful, so there was no denying I was going to have to call, I did that on August 27th, and was told, they can't do anything for me until SEPTEMBER 5 TH !!!!, 10 DAYS !!!! Terrible dentist to go to. Not only do they make you wait an hour for every appointment you have, they'll also do a hack job on you're mouth. I went to have a broken tooth fix and a teeth cleaning. I had my first consultation, an appointment when they fixed my tooth, and a third where they were supposed to clean my teeth. Never even had my teeth cleaned because every time I went I waited over an hour to be seen. And when they fixed my tooth, they cut my cheek so bad it took over a month to heal. If you are a sensitive person about seeing a dentist, I highly recommend you don't go here. read more

They are a complete scam. It's a dental mill. They just try to cram as many appts as possible and do as many unnecessary procedures to bill your insurance company. They care 0 for the patient only about making money. They charge double what local dentist will. I was in extreme pain with bad tooth. To told me to come in to get a tooth pulled then made me come for 2 appointments. First appointment for X-rays and what not because it was my first time there. Then made me wait over 2 weeks with extreme pain in mouth and didn't even give me ibuprofen. Almost 10 months later I called to get a cleaning. They told me my X-rays are outdated so I need an appointment to update my info then a 2nd appt for cleaning. No joke... 2 appt to get my teeth cleaned. My fiancé broke his back molar, and we made an emergency appointment to get him fixed up. It cracked very deep into the tooth and his nerve was showing- very painful. We do not have insurance. The entire experience was very negative and I would not recommend anyone visit this chain. 1.) they pressured my fiancé to do many other procedures in addition to fixing his broken molar (and tried to charge us for it all, even knowing that we do not have insurance and could only afford this one procedure) 2.) they made him come back another day to get it fixed, without giving him ANY advice on how to deal with having an exposed nerve in the back of his mouth, even though the doctor told him she would provide him with helpful info. 3.) Before the procedure at the second appointment, the nurse that provided the novocaine shot told him she would leave him for 10 minutes to let it set in- she came back 30 minutes later after talking in the hallway with the other employees and said she just "forgot." 4.) During the filling procedure, my fiancé started experiencing pain, and raised his left hand (as they instructed him to do, if he needed a break) and he told them it hurt too much- and the doctor responded with, "that's weird" before returning to the procedure. ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE!! I am sad that these people are allowed to practice dentistry. Please do not give them any of your business. read more

So they gave me a credit line cause I don't have insurance and told me that it would cover everything (I had 4 impacted wisdom teeth removed) then sent me a bill for $973 dollars on top of the credit line I'm paying on....so they charged me $2600 to get my wisdom teeth removed!!!! I'm overpaying BIG TIME! I was not aware I'd be charged on top of what my credit line was!!!! They overcharge and they don't tell you! And it took forever for my mouth to heal! I will not go back!!!! Every time I go they charge me $65 copay even though I tell them that I am covered and do not owe them anything. Then I get my receipt from the insurance company showing that I owe them nothing and it takes them 3 - 4 weeks to refund my money. I visited aspen dental for a routine cleaning for the first time. As a new patient I was unaware of that fact that this was a commercial dental chain whose main business plan is to sell unneeded dental services and have patients visit multiple times so that insurance can be billed. On my first visit, after waiting nearly an hour in the waiting room, a dental hygienist walked me to a room, examined my mouth, and attempted to sell me on a mouth cancer exam that they charge 70 dollars. After declining the cancer examination (im 23 y.o) she went on to say that my gums were unhealthy and that I was likely to develop gingivitis and suggested that i purchase a special mouthwash that they could sell to me. At this point was getting upset, as I have yet to see the actual dentist and hear his medical opinion. Finally after an examination from the hygienist i had to wait in the room for nearly 35 minutes before i was walked to another room where the dentist was. After the dentist examined my teeth he stated that I would have to have two fillings redone and stated that I would have to schedule another appointment to do so. after the initial cleaning i attempted to reschedule for the fillings on the same day, but the receptionist kept pushing to do only one filling instead and schedule another day for the second. At this point i stated that i was not coming back twice to get the fillings done and finally the receptionist gave in. After returning back to get the fillings taken care of, I was once again waiting nearly an hour before seeing the dentist. After the procedure I informed reception that i would like a copy of the charges (tax deductible expense) and left for home. Once i was at home i compared the charges for composite filling from aspen to my previous dentist that did a composite filling a year before. Aspen dental charged nearly 25% more for the same services. I have yet to go back and I am currently looking for a local dentist not a commercial chain. read more
