This dental location over charges for their services along with double charge you for certain items. They also don't explain the charges clearly. If we hadn't reviewed the charges. I was a little disappointed when I left my appt. The first thing I was uncomfortable with was, when you arrive and provide them with your insurance card - the gal at the front desk verified my information over the phone with the insurance representative and there were people in the lobby that could hear everything! Insurance verification should be done in the back where other patients can't hear all your business if you're unable to verify benefits online. I was expecting my information to be verified before I even arrived, given that I had already given them all of my insurance info days ahead. I am giving 2 stars because the back office staff was kind (xray tech & dental hygienist). Dr Parekh was also kind and thorough but he referred me to 3 oral surgeons that could not do my procedure and I started back at square one. I probably won't return but would like to request that all patient information over the phone is done elsewhere instead of at the front desk for HIPAA purposes and comfortability for each patient. read more

Friendly voices, but a waste of time to talk to.  I made 6 phone calls over two hours trying to set up an appointment with endodontist for root canal. Keep getting told that would not have an endodontist "at this location for over a month, but try this other location".  Finally got someone at Buford location that let me know "not here until over a month away, but you can get in at Gainseville next week on Monday".  I call Gainesville, and told that yes, they can get me in next week on Monday!   To be seen and to get a referral to the endodontist.  And then "next month" before actually get treated.  I have a referral from dentist (and I told each one that).   Do not waste your time with them if you can at all help it. read more

I went to Aspen Dental to have my upper teeth pulled and have dentures put in. I understood that there would be pieces of the bone that would work it's way out over time but I didn't expect so many pieces all different sizes mainly within the front four teeth. I have been back twice since having my teeth removed they should have looked at the dentures before they put them up in place because there was two curves that cut the gums and put all those pieces up in there when I went back they had to do the filing to make the fit perfect. It hurt so bad when they put in my dentures that they had to numb my gums so they could see where to file the dentures. Then the second time I went back they had to pull out a piece that had swelled up with an infection and then put a cushion material to help with comfort. It's been over a month and I still can't wear my upper dentures because of pieces that still cause pain in the front. I should of read the reviews before going there. I put my hand in front of my mouth when I need to talk to anyone. I have cancelled appointments because of not having any teeth on top. I won't be going back to have my bottom bridges done there. I have anxiety about dentists because of what happened when I was younger being a military dependent and them practicing on us kids, I will never go back to Aspen Dental for any kind of work done again. I'm on Medicare and Medicaid and I can't afford the better dentures. My neighbor went there after me and she had her uppers pulled and dentures put in and she can wear hers without pain. She had better insurance than I do. She has temporary dentures that she has to wear for 6 months then she gets her better permanent ones. I only get better ones if I pay extra which I can't afford being on disability. She smiles talks eats with these with no pain I didn't get such luck, I'm still eating soft foods. I stopped looking at myself in the mirror because it just makes me cry asking what have I done to myself. read more

That tooth your dentist wanted to pull because she stated a root canal couldn't be performed (which after asking more questions and demanding answers she FINALLY recommended it be pulled because she COULDN'T PERFORM A ROOT CANAL and wanted to make $$$) was easily repaired by my dentist who I couldn't get into at the time since he was sick and cancelled his appointments so he wouldn't spread what he had. And "forgetting" to call in antibiotics for people with a dental abscess can result in a severe worsening of symptoms as well as osteomyelitis, further tooth loss, oral tissue infection, sinus infections, septicemia, septic shock as well as a abscess spreading into the brain. Not calling in those antibiotics in that situation or providing a written script is either pure incompetence or spite since a patient questioned one of your providers and didn't want to sign up for thousands of dollars of procedures they don't need and sure as hell didn't request. And when you provide copies of x-rays, EMAIL THEM, looking at bad printed copies doesn't reveal the depth a x-ray film or proper digital image can reveal, so for me all those X-rays and the panoramic x-ray they insisted on doing, when I requested treatment on ONE tooth, was just unneeded radiation exposure to me to bill more money to my insurance. If people educated themselves or asked around, you'd be out of business. I wouldn't pi$$ on you people if you caught on fire. read more

I had originally given this practice a 5 star review. They had a remarkable staff that understood patient billing and insurance, and were very friendly and helpful. The dentist lacks personality, but he did a good job on a bridge that he placed for me last year. THIS year is a completely different story. There is an entirely new staff, none of whom possess the knowledge and skill of the original staff. I referred my 85 year old father to the practice for a full set of dentures. They advertise 'same day dentures'. They neglect to tell you that they remove a full mouth full of teeth within an hour, leaving a LOT of bone chips. After many months, my dad is still unable to feel 100% comfortable with the dentures, although he continues frequent visits for 'adjustments'. I went to the practice a few weeks ago for an infected tooth that needs a root canal. I had new insurance and gave them my card. Halfway through my visit, one of the office staff approached me to say that I do not have dental insurance. She surmised this because "United Healthcare usually prints 'dental' on their card". I asked if she called to verify, and she claimed that she did. I then asked a second person to do so, and again, was told that a call was placed. I left the appointment without having work done, and frantic that I'd paid over 6 months into dental insurance with my company that I was now being told I didn't have. One QUICK call to United Healthcare confirmed my coverage. The agent also told me that UHC keeps records of providers calling for verification, and no such call was made by Aspen Dental. I live more than an hour away from this practice, and have to take off work to go to my visits. I will not be patronizing this practice again. read more

Worst dental experience I have ever had! 1st, I got a call requesting I come in at 10am (my appointment was at 11am) I said I still had to shower and the person on the other end said "ok, you still have to shower?" My answer, yes, I do, but I will be as quick as possible. I rush to get ready and then receive another call from the office, a young lady asked "are you on your way yet? REALLY?? IT WAS 10:10! 50 min before my scheduled appointment! When I arrive (30 min before my scheduled appointment) I then got a very cold, non smiling greeting from the miserable receptionist. Then the real nightmare began, I came in for a broken tooth that I knew was infected (I was correct), but then I spent over an hour with an over aggressive hygienist that felt the need to shove her sharp tools into my already painfull mouth. I left shaking and upset and sick to my stomach and the ringing of the rude hygienist (do you want to keep the tooth or not?) In my ears. You would think it would be over from there and I could just pick up my prescribed Ibuprofen and antibiotics for my infected tooth right? Nope! I very clearly marked on their questionnaire, that they OBVIOUSLY don't even look at! That I am HIGHLY allergic to penicillin and Amocicillin which was CLEARLY checked. guess what?! Whoever called in my prescription, literally wrote a prescription for Amoxcicillin!! What professional establishment does that?!? That giant mistake could have landed me in the ER! Ugh... The Pharmacist had to call and leave a message to send in a new prescription that im not allergic too but guess what?? They didnt answer the phone at 3:50pm (10 min before closing) because they closed early for a party. I heard the girls in the office counting down the time to finally end their shift for the party (hence the extreme rush and rudness to get me in and out of there as quickly as possible!?) I had to call the emergency, after hours number to get the correct antibiotics that day because I couldn't take the excruciating pain until Monday when they were open again. just horrible, Dr. Parekh needs his license revolked. He can't even read x-rays. If he could he would of known the tooth was too close to the sinus just to pull. Now we go to oral surgeon to finish the botch job he started. 236.00 for nothing ! Daughter is in sever pain, and still bleeding 8 hours later. What a butcher. And the dental hygenist is nothing more than a ripp off. She said daughter needed a deep cleaning (WTF) is that ? According to 3 other dentist in town no such thing, all cleaning are deep cleaning. My daugher has bone loss ( other dentist state at only one tooth) which we knew. She tried to make it into something big. Dr. Parekh never mentioned replacing the crown she lot, he did state she had a cavity. My wife and I are Senior Citizen USAF Veterans. We made an appointment at random to Aspen Dental in Buford, GA., because they had a national promotion on $99 checkup and X-rays. SAVE YOUR $$$ and go see a local Dentist in your community. This outfit is a total scam, especially for folks that don't have dental insurance. This particular office had mostly foreign born ---probably foreign educated---did not have their licenses prominently displayed, so no idea of how qualified the Dentist was. The whole visit for my wife and I took about 1 1/2 hour. The Dentist talked to each of us about 5 mins each after reviewing X-Rays. Then they sent us to their admin/accounting person who quoted us both over $2k each to do a "deep cleaning" scam before repairing any tooth fillings. I needed a root canal and was being referred out to another Dentist because Aspen had no one qualified to do the procedure. Needless to say,we left and subsequently saw a local (20 years in biz) Dentist that charged us $150 each for XRays and normal teeth cleaning we had our whole lives. I'm writing this review a year post Aspen visit and have had no problems with my teeth (apparently did not need Aspen's scam deep cleaning). Horrible unethical practices. I had a deep dental clean in 2016 which I paid what I owed. However, they have since stated I owe them more money this is incorrect. It's now 2018 and they are now notifying me that I have a bill that went to collections. This is my first time I'm hearing about this. Incredibly disappointed that I have to defend this BS all over again because some receptionist does not now how to enter data correctly. One of my biggest fears is going to the dentist but I was in pain and needed to find someone. One of my customers work in the financial department and told me how wonderful the dentists were. To make a long story short it was my nightmare come true. The need for three fillings cost me not only 1500.00, one filling fell out and I had to have it done again (this time it actual looks natural, unlike the popcorn kernal aspen gave me!) because the assistant gave the dentist the wrong replacement but the dentist told her it was OK. Then the other two teeth rotted out and I had to have them pulled. In the end it cost me over 3000.00 to have three fillings! Trust me I tell all my customers to not go there!!! Please read all the reviews and take them to heart. Aspen does not care about the patients well being. They only care about making the profit for the company. I recently had extractions and healing dentures made. While the extractions I cannot complain about the healing dentures were made completely wrong ! They are crooked and wrong. The top plate was made way to big and would not stay in when the extractions were done the top edges were bent inward and cut into my already traumatized gums. The bottom partials were made crooked and do not seat properly near my remaining lower teeth. Two days later I go back the solution they have is to cut and destroy the already horrible healing denture. Pack it full of reline and have me bite down. It stayed in, that's all it good for ! Later it hurting on the edges where it was cut down. I go back the dentist? Tells me the gums are healing and that's why I'm in pain. The horrible prosthetic is the problem not the gums. I get the healing process, and that takes time, I get it. The solution once again is to cut more material out of the crooked top plate and pack it full of reline again, this time it's so far to the left the dentist had to put extra reline it to make up for open space in the roof of the crooked denture! I expressed my concerns to no avail, I'm not a child, telling me its the fault of my healing gums is not going to work with me. They were made wrong to begin with and no amount of cutting or reline will fix shoddy work. They have said they will remake the healing denture in two weeks. We will see if they actually do and if they do we will see if it's right. To date this has been a horrible experience! read more

This place should be shut down. Highly disrespectful, Judgmental, incompetent and the rest I have no words to describe how I feel right now. I made the mistake of going back for a reline and was treated badly again. A few days after having my teeth pulled my stitches came untied on one side and the other side they were tied so tight the ripped my gums so I had to cut those out myself. As for the reline well it's highly flammable, full of VOC's and I have finally succeeded in getting it out of my denture that is VERY poorly made and was made worse today. I haven't been able to eat in weeks. I have a headache, ringing in my ears and a chemical burn in my mouth as well as shaking all over due to the mistreatment and ignorant staff. I was over charged and still haven't received the difference but they were quick in taking my money. Well I could go on but they don't deserve another moment of my time, energy or thoughts. I will be filing a complaint with the Georgia composite medical board and the ADA as well as getting a refund and filing a complaint against them with my insurance company. I went here for a second opinion because I was told at another place that I needed $8000.00 in dental work done- 6 crowns, a root canal and several fillings. Dr. Parekh told me all I needed was a few fillings and that was it. He was honest and showed me my X-rays and what teeth needed what care. I would definitely recommend this dentist to anyone looking. This place is great! They go above and beyond their call of duty! My mother has dementia and is in wheel chair. The staff and Doctor went out of their way to make her feel comfortable. Wow, where to start!! Went to my first appointment with them today, appt time was 3:30 got there early to do the paperwork as they suggested. Then the wait began...I sat there for 45 minutes and watched other clients come in the front door and go back while I just sat! The lady behind the counter was on the phone most of the time I was there and when I finally went to her, cause she was not going to check on me or even explain why I had been waiting so long, she finally went back to see how much longer it would take before I would be seen. She came back to me and honestly whispered...at least another 10-15minutes. I did have to ask her to speak up so I could hear her, mind you she was 4feet away from me and I still could not understand her with her mumbling. At that point I told her I had waited long enough and I left. I do have to admit I got a good laugh at the sign that was displayed in their office said something about how the patients were the reason that have a practice. LOL~that was a joke!!
