Sadly my TWO encounters with this dental office were both unprofessional and unacceptable. The first time I went in with an actively infected tooth in excruciating pain. They took X-rays of teeth that were totally unrelated to my visit. Just to over-bill my insurance for all covered X-rays. Then sent me home with otc strength pain meds, no antibiotics and a referral to an endodontist which was 2 weeks out. I ended up in the ER. I decided to give them another try and scheduled my daughter for a routine exam and tooth cleaning and the office staff was so rude I couldnt even get thru the initial conversation. As much as I wanted to support this black owned or operated establishment -I DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS DENTAL OFFICE. read more

This has to be the worst Dental office in Georgia. They simply do not care. They wil give you a consultation with a professional dentist but when it comes to the procedure you can get anybody. I got a person who at least had a white coat on but knew nothing. She had to extract two teeth. I went in at 1:30pm and got out after 5:30p . This hack dentist even got tired and took a break. I constantly had to check in on her verbally to see if she was Okay because she kept saying "I just can't get it" out loud. There's confidence booster! Not. When she was finally complete with two simple extractions. I specifically asked if he got all of the fragments. She specifically said "yes". She lied. Although I took her word for it, I later found out that there were fragments of tooth still lodged in my gums. Even the regional supervisor was going to assign me another location to do the follow up but never did. I repeatedly asked for my X-rays ( which I paid for). They would never give them to me. Any dental clinic would be better than this one. If you ask to speak with the manager, they would not let me speak with her. The cashier at Quiktip would do a better job than this dental office. In my opinion you should find anywhere but this location to attend to your dental needs. I am not sure how they are still in business. Let the buyer beware! I would not let them make you their ginny pig experiment. This place is a strong zero for skill, professionalism, honesty and certainly value. If you would like to be ripped off and don't care about Losing your money and walking around with an incomplete job, then this is the place to go! You are guaranteed to have to go to another dentist to correct their errors and clean up their mess. I suggest they make this place useful by making it a parking lot. This place is very reputable because of its franchise however this particular location is the bottom of the list, from the front desk lady to the office manager, they are extremely rude and very confrontational. Regarding the Hiram location Horrible, absolutely Horrible !!!! you can barely get someone on the phone to schedule an appointment, their website shows the hours of operation as one thing, however there have been times I called and got a voicemail stating they were closed ( this was 1-2 pm in the afternoon so they Definitely should have been Opened) Once you are finally seen the prices are ridiculous, and you may Be charged for services NOT rendered!!! Absolutely terrible experience. I was insulted in the office by the staff. I didn't come to a dentist office to be entertainment and laughed at. If that's not bad enough the women doing my X-rays cut my gums and was making me gag. I went in for a broken molar and looking to find a permanent dentist all I got was wasted time. They failed to get in touch with my insurance and they can't even return phone calls. Luckily I found an amazing dentist office up close to there who has handled everything amazingly Byrd Dental group. When I told them about my experience with Aspen the response was that it's very common. My mother was seen at the end of August 2023. She returned for numerous fittings, that was for the temporary set. She was constantly being told there was a balance. Insurance and out of pocket charges had been paid at the first visit. We called the corp office, was told don't pay anything else until the Insurance payments were verified however my mother did it anyway. She was told later at one of the fittings that her temps were her permanent teeth and it was costing more to get the shade of white she wanted. This was not discussed at the initial consultation. Two weeks ago in the office for more fittings and was told she could pick up the permanent set. The teeth had three front teeth, she was told they could be fixed in the office. On today we returned to pick up the permanent teeth, they told her she owed another $1000. After requesting to speak to the manager we were told the account was coded incorrectly and she was taken back with an apology. Today is November 27, 2024, 1 yr 2mths later. I know and expected some issues however the experience with this company and location I will never come, recommend, or use again. read more

The Douglasville location should be CLOSED!!! Customer service is LACKING! The ladies at the front desk are young and maybe do not have enough customer service experience to deal with patients in this type of environment/field. (Jessica, Meesha, and Alayah) are not professional and has no remorse if they make a mistake. I had an appointment scheduled for yesterday December 20, 2023. I received a call from Jessica on December 19th to verify my appointment. She first said I had to pay for my appointment and could not use my Care Credit Card unless they ran the card for $200 which was more than the amount for my procedure. Jessica called me back the same day and said that I COULD use the Care Credit Card for the cleaning. I got off work early for this appointment and when I arrived on December 20th the story had changed back to (in order to use the card they would have to run my Care Credit Card for $200). Sounds like a scam to me! Also when I first went to them on September 5th, Meesha went over the upcoming 4 month cycle appointment and amounts (December, January, February, March) and she never mentioned anything about the $200 max. When I was there yesterday December 20th going back and forth with them because no one wanted to accept responsibility, NO ONE....During the whole time APOLOGIED for the miscommunication, inconvenience, or the fact that I got off work early only to be told something different. All they would say was that is the rule. The "rule" should have been explained at the time I was approved for the Care Credit Card to pay towards my visits. I even spoke with Anna with Care Credit customer service, and was told that I can charge any amount as little, or as large, on my Care Credit Card and, that Aspen Dental in Douglasville should have accepted it for the amount of the visit. I noticed each time that I was there which has been 3 times, there has always been a customer having problems with billing with the front desk staff. They do not accept responsibility for their mistakes and are confrontational towards their customers. I suggest try another location. I will not be going back there ever again!!!!!!!!!! I hate writing reviews, but I am praying about this experience because this is happening too often with this young lady. When someone answers a telephone, you need to know something instead of getting ignorant because you are being questioned. If you don't remember, say I am not sure, and refer the customer to someone who knows. The young lady answering the phone at the Douglasville office is the most ignorant and non-caring personality and anyone can spot it over the phone. I am cancelling my daughter's wisdom teeth removal and I am canceling my appointments. I know how people are supposed to be treated with dignity and respect and if the young lady continues to answer the phone You will not get that at the Douglasville office. I love Sherry she did awesome on my cleaning but Sherry I have to find better service elsewhere. I deserve better. I do not recommend this office location for young children at all. The dentist would cleaned my children's teeth was great. But the front desk lady was rude asf and when I expressed concerns about a procedure they wanted my seven year old to have she did not care still only wanted me to sign consent forms. You can never get anyone to answer the phones when you do speak to someone they are rude and condescending. The surgeon doesn't care about parent concerns at all. I have never heard of a surgeon refusing to let a parent into the room during a tooth removal. I'm 33 and my mother still goes with me and is allowed in the room with me when getting a procedure. My son had an appointment over a week ago, had three teeth extracted with stitches. He was told that someone would call him back with the follow up appointment. He has not heard a word as of today. I called and left three messages for someone to call for an appointment... then after numerous tries, I finally got someone to answer and promptly put me on hold. I held for over 15 minutes until it was finally cut off. I tried to call back and got the message that that extension was busy and to leave a message, which I did a couple of times. These people charged a credit card for the entire amount for the estimate of dental work needed but they give no service. IF he can ever get back in and have the stitches removed, I will strongly suggest he find another dentist and insist that Aspen Dental credit his card for services not yet performed. The wait was long (3 hrs) to only receive an itemized estimate. The estimate contained wrong group plan number as well as dental provider so unsure if estimate is correct. Also I think the agenda for them is to push dentures instead of truly assessing and saving the teeth. Needless to say I'm still waiting to receive a corrected itemized estimate. When I got my first dentures 10 years ago I got a full set within 1 week!!! its past 3 weeks now and they just reschelduled me for another week and thats just for the wax fitting!!probaly be longer for final set!! already paid for 90% of bill !! they know I have broken dentures and you would think they would try to help a person out who cant eat solid foods until he gets new one!! only reason i give it a 2 is because customer service is extremely polite!! place really needs to do better!! read more

My experience with Aspen Dental was absolutely great. I have never had such wonderful people doing the work on my teeth. All the employees were very nice and considerate, and made me feel like I was a truly valued customer. The treatment was relatively painless and they were very thorough with all imaging and x-rays. Dr. Willis was wonderful. She is kind, patient, and very caring. I barely felt the needle sticks and I felt nothing on the extractions. I would highly recommend them if you have dental problems. I am only giving them one star because you can't give zero stars. First let me say that if you want to be overcharged and treated like a number instead of a person, then this is the place for you. They quoted me a price, I thought was high. Turns out, I was right. I went to another place locally, and they were less than half the price. Also, they were much friendlier. The folks here have zero bedside manner. The dentist didn't even look in my mouth. She just looked at the x-rays and the 3D image and said I need this, this, and this. When you go to a dentist, for the price they charge, and in my case it was $3200.00 for bridge work, you would expect the work to be completed in a timely manner. Here is my results from a local Douglasville chain store dentist on Douglas Blvd. (1) 1st visit beginning of December they removed two upper teeth, X-rays, and took impressions for a bridge. They installed a temporary bridge and rescheduled me to come back in two weeks to get the permanent bridge installed. After two days, the temporary bridge came out. I was never told that if it came out that I needed to come back to have it re-cemented. (2) 2nd visit. The permanent bridge did not fit because they said my teeth shifted, and scheduled me to come back again in a week. Maybe it was my fault, but I wasn't told that if it came out to return. I thought that was to make it easier for me to eat. (3) 3rd visit I came back and the Dentist said the lab screwed up and that he couldn't get the bridge to fit. He did new impressions, installed a new temporary again, and scheduled me to come back the week of Christmas. (4) 4th visit I arrived for my 6:00 PM appointment at 5:15 and signed in. At 5:55 PM they called me to the desk to advise me that my permanent bridge did not come in, and they would have to reschedule. 40 minutes in the lobby, and no one checked to see if my bridge was even there? (5) 5th visit, on the way to my appointment, they called me to reschedule again, because the dentist had to leave early because it was his birthday. This is after me taking off early from work in Norcross Georgia and losing overtime. (6) 6th visit I arrived and the bridge was there. Dentist checked it and said it would fit perfectly after he made a few more adjustments to my anchor teeth, but he wanted to install another temporary to allow the swelling of my gums to go down and said come back in a week which was yesterday. (7) 7th visit yesterday 01-20-15 as I was on the way to my appointment, I noticed the dental assistant had scheduled me for next Tuesday the 27th. I called to verify, and in fact I was scheduled for next week. I was livid. I went into the dental office and asked to speak to the dentist because he is the one who told me to come back in one week. I was advised that he was with a patient and would be unable to speak with me. I noticed there were new patients filling out applications in the office, so I said I would wait anyway. Of course I was furious, and so I got on my phone and was talking loud in front of the new patients saying that I had never done business with such an incompetent staff at a business in my life, and received such poor service, and if I had to do it over again I would never have chosen that dental office. That seemed to have got their attention, because they immediately escorted me to the back and installed my bridge. So I guess showing your ass sometimes works, but it should have never came to that. read more

From x-rays to dental hygenist to Dr. - all were open and frank, explained options and listened to me and answered questions. This office has HORRIBLE customer service!!! I called to reschedule my appointment at the Douglasville Ga location and I was left on hold for over 10 minutes twice. When I called, I clearly stated that I wanted to "reschedule" but the young lady asked me if I wanted to cancel and call back later to reschedule, then she proceeded to place me on hold AGAIN. I called back again only to hear the employees laughing and joking loudly in the background, including the one that was currently on the phone with me. So unprofessional! I asked the young lady who answered, if I could speak to a manager, then 3 minutes later, the office manager who identified herself as Lamesha came to the phone without a care in the world. I voiced my concerns to her, she never apologized, she never gave a reason for the long hold times nor did she state that she would address the issue. She sounded so "blah", tired and unconcerned. I got so irritated that I just cancelled my appointment without rescheduling. With that type of leadership, I can see why the customer service is that way. If the office manager doesn't care, I guess the staff don't care either. I'll be transferring my files/x-rays to another practice asap. I hope that this improves in the future. I should've read the reviews before making an appointment. I'm trying to understand how the office manager Lamesha still has her position!!! Corporate needs to intervene ASAP! smh read more

I visited Aspen Dental in Douglasville in October 2021. I had several visits to get dental work complete and they were "in-network" for my federal employee insurance and close to my work office. The dental work was satisfactory but the office (specifically billing) has been a nightmare. The office has billed my insurance incorrectly and now states that I have an outstanding balance (that I do not owe). I coordinated a call between that billing office and my insurance provider (with me on hold) hoping that it would be resolved but much to my surprise, without notice, this dental office sent the outstanding balance to a credit collector EVEN after my insurance spoke to them over the phone and explained how to resubmit the bill correctly for payment from my insurance provider. I am beyond frustrated. The office manager will not return emails or calls and I have been calling and emailing since January. I would suggest to anyone considering this office to reconsider. Office management and office help/administration/billing are a vital part of any business and if that part doesn't work then nothing works -and that goes for any office. read more

Four years ago when I went to this office my experience was excellent. Today it was horrible. The front desk staff was rude and took their time getting the office running at 7:30. My appointment was for 7:30 and I arrived at 7:15 to find several of the staff standing around laughing and carrying on. Not a good impression for clients. Then when they finally decided to get started those that came in after me were taken care of first. Then I was asked for payment up front before even any treatment was rendered. I said no I would pay after I saw someone and they just laughed at me and shook their heads. I left and they were still laughing. Man how this office has gone downhill. I scheduled an appt in December 2020, paid a little over $1100 and was told the day of my next appt, my remaining balance would be a little over $500. The day I go in for my appt, the lady tells me that my remaining balance was ~$700. I told her that was wrong being that me & Meisha discussed payments WEEK BEFORE my appt. Another lady tells me that I will miss my appt if it's not paid but they will get it handled, so I paid it & my appt still got canceled due to no one going over protocol with me...so I then speak with Meisha she first tells me that the extra ~$200 was due to an appt being scheduled in April 2021 that was made (without my knowledge btw), I tell her I was unaware of it, she said it was scheduled by the hygienist, she canceled the appt, then tells me the extra $200 came from an increase in their prices but being that I made my appt in December 2020, that they will honor the old prices. She THEN tells me she wouldn't be able to refund me the extra until it's charged on my credit card, understandable. I didn't hear from her on that Friday as she said she would give me a call back. Monday comes and if it wasn't for the Newman office calling me to properly go over protocol for my rescheduled appt, I wouldn't have known the Douglasville office was open b/c it was MLK day so I called their office & asked to speak to Meisha again. She then tells me the extra charges come from insurance deductible which she must've forgot she told me my insurance restart in April and advised me to call they office around that time to schedule the other dental work they recommended. She then puts me on hold and a lady named Tamara picks up and tells me they are going to look at my account & will give me a call in a few days && now I am STILL waiting...this review does not go to say that the people are bad, the hygienist who did my cleaning was the sweetest ever!, but to charge me an extra ~$200 with no explanation is unacceptable read more

Most of the staff was friendly....I've come to the office a few times, and twice I've seen people angry or irate. My dental hygienist seemed to care more about up selling me on their products than about the pain I was experiencing from her constant slips into my gums while deep cleaning. Each dental room/area has a TV attached for your viewing pleasure....just kidding. It's for HER viewing pleasure! I have been there 3 times, and every time we entered the room, she would turn the channel to something SHE enjoyed. That's probably why the dental pick kept tearing into my gums. I actually made the statement "Ooooo, I like this show" at one of my appointments, and she immediately proceeded to turn the channel anyway. My last appointment was my absolute last time going there; I say this because......Okay, I can tell that she is one of those natural-type people, nothing wrong with that---- I've smelled a slight body odor on my previous visits, nothing too bad. BUT.......my last appointment---- her body odor was so bad that it brought tears to my eyes. And she kept reaching over my face and nose, I almost threw up in my mouth several times. It was horrible! I just cannot take a chance of going back to that pain or the smell! Besides, after writing this review, I'll probably be banned. lol......I gave them 2 stars, because most of the staff was really cool, otherwise it would have been even less. read more

On a recent visit I accompanied a family member who is extremely nervous when going to the dentist. I have been with her on several occasions and accompanying her back into the dental suite has never been a problem with the exception of the time when they did the physical dental work (the dentist said for safety reason due to items flying about the room.) The office manager (DEE) was exceptionally rude and told me that I would be waiting in the lobby. I advised her that my family member was not comfortable with being in the back alone as she felt the team had been "aggressive" with her in the past. She told me that my family member was wrong and it didn't matter what she said, that they didn't do that. I didn't ask her for her opinion on the matter, I stated our opinion as the patient and caretaker how we felt. I pushed back and she made the veiled threat that she would not see the patient if I continued to insist that I accompany her. I advised her that I would push for a full refund of services if she failed to complete the contract we had signed. This office manager needs some serious skills training in how to deal with "facing" customers because she sucks at it. She told me this instruction was coming from the dentist but then refused to let us see the dentist to confirm what she was stating. The rest of the staff was nice, so I have to hope its just this one person and hopefully not the dentist too. A patient has the right to have someone accompany them and there is no policy akin to this because I asked her to show me the policy and she refused. read more

This was an experience that exceeded my expectations. I am a very educated, informed and choosy consumer who is very hard to impress; yet Dr. Willis and her staff did just that. They were very professional, kind, caring, sensitive, attentive, and genuinely pleasant. I was a new patient who took a chance on this practice because I did not have a personal reference; I chose this practice because of the close proximity to my home and because it's easily accessible. Mesha at the front desk was very busy on the phone when I arrived but she got to me as soon as she could, and reviewed my paperwork to make sure I had all the forms completed. Within a few minutes I was called back by a smiling, Abby, one of the dental assistants. She took all my radiographs and explained step by step everything she was going to do. Abby was so adept I did not feel the usual discomfort one experiences when the sensors are placed in position for x-rays. I was very surprised to find out that Abby was a new graduate. (Good luck, Abby) The handoff was perfect: I was greeted by the very caring Kabrina, another dental assistant who escorted me to the treatment room, inquired of my dental complaints, reviewed my medical and dental histories, took my vitals, and explained to me briefly what to expect at this stage of the visit. Sheri, the dental hygienist came and explained to me what she would be doing at this point in my visit. I had a full mouth periodontal examination including charting. She was very gentle,and had a light touch; I had no discomfort. Dr. Willis, the dentist on staff, is a very polite professional; after she had been briefed by Kabrina, introduced herself and proceeded to discuss my complaint. Then she did a clinical examination and with the radiographic findings she formulated a treatment plan, specifically for me. Quianna, the treatment coordinator explained my treatment plan and answered any questions that I had. She's technically the bridge between the administrative and the clinical components of the practice. Finally, Ambreanna, another clinical assistant escorted me to the treatment room for my procedure. It's the BIG one, extraction: I broke a tooth and it was beginning to hurt; it was a huge fracture and the tooth was not salvageable. Dr. Willis did a fantastic job with the anesthesia and an even better job with the extraction. I was silently praying for an easy procedure because I know the tooth had a huge fracture, all the way to the gumline. I heard Dr. Willis ask Ambreanna for "something", I don't know what it was but all I could think of was that a root was broken, further fracture, or something had gone terribly wrong. To my surprise Ambreanna placed a folded gauze square in my mouth. I asked if the tooth was out and she said yes it's out. The entire procedure took less than twenty minutes. All I could say was God darn it! I hope I did not leave anyone out by not mentioning your name. Thank you, Dr. Willis and staff. Superb job from start to finish! read more

Would give ZERO stars if I could. Went in on 01/05/2016, for a new patient appointment. I phoned them prior to my appointment with the attempt to let them know why I was coming in. The gal who answered the phone told me it did not matter. I was required to have x-rays and exam. Okay, fair enough. I totally expected to be overwhelmed with treatment recommendations, as I do have several issues. The reason that I went in was because I lost a crown over the weekend, TOP FRONT tooth. i simply wanted to get a temporary crown, and then a permanent replacement crown. As most other reviewers have said, they addressed everything EXCEPT my reason for coming in. After waiting over an hour-and-a-half to even be seen (those arriving after me, going ahead of me), I went through the mundane and uncomfortable process of x-rays, then the "exam." Then I'm handed my four-page "treatment plan" and led to the finance gal. I had told them ALL repeatedly that I would not be committing to anything that day, I would not be scheduling anything that day. This finance gal took it upon herself (after talking me into applying for credit, even though I already had CareCredit), to CHARGE ME $3000 without my knowledge, much less my consent to cover all of the items listed on the treatment plan! She made small talk while she was apparently putting me in the hole for $3000, and then tried to nonchalantly slip the receipt by me and said to sign it. I picked up the pen, and said, wait a minute. You have already charged me? For what? I did not commit to anything, much less have any knowledge of this charge. i refused to sign the "receipt." She claimed it was a "misunderstanding" ON MY PART! No, it was a slick attempt at a back-door close. Once she got it through her head that I was not happy about this and would not sign, she said she'd put in a reversal of the charges but would have to wait until the next day to do it and that it would take 3-5 biz days to come off. I asked if someone could call me to let me know it had been taken care of and she said she could "try." She also said that I ":MIGHT" get paperwork in the mail and to ignore it. I called today (two days later) to confirm they have put in the reversal; she said she did and now she said it would take 10-12 biz days to come off! So totally irate with this place and after reading one bad review after another, learning of class-action suits against Aspen, etc., I have no clue how they are even in business anywhere much less all of these locations they have across the country! I will update once this has been (hopefully) resolved in my favor. read more
