Dr. Ken Starling was a angel. I'm glad I found this place. I had a wonderful experience with the dental hygienist, the lady at the front office, Jackie and the young lady who facilitated my X-ray. I had to bring my 6 month old son with me because we're new to this area and haven't established any sitters. He kept his attention while I was getting X-Ray and played with him. I was astonished and very grateful. The other ladies helped out as well especially Jackie. This was a great time. I previously scheduled a doc appointment with Magnolia Dental as I wanted to go with a smaller firm but cancelled after my husband experience. BAIT AND SWITCH. I phoned a few months back and was told a FULL SET of dentures were just over $1000.00. Went to my appt today, prepared to pay for the set. Great front desk. Lovely dental assistant. Dr was engaging. Sounds perfect, right? WRONG! After the x-ray and exam, and impressions, it was time to pick my teeth. They brought me to Kiran. She hands me a tablet and pronounces these are the dentures the dentist feels is best suited to me. The price, well OVER $5000.00! No option, other than work with 3rd party financiers. I said when I called it would be $1000, and her response was no one should have told you that. Not until she saw her sucker slipping away did she UNCOVER the poster board with other options on it. This place lacks integrity and Kiran absolutely lacks character and customer skills. She is horrendous! Her attitude is like this is your choice at 5K. Take it or leave it. We left it. Three times I showed up for an appointment to see the Hygienist and three different times their excuse was their system was down and they couldn't contact me to let me know the Hygienist didn't show up. Also, the temporary bridge has never been right. read more

Overall, I have mixed feelings for Aspen Dental. While the staff were brilliant and very informative, the pricing and possible future treatment requests seemed off. In former years, I've had minor issue that required fixings. To put in perspective, the cost to fix was roughly ~$150, though when I had a similar issue at Aspen Dental, the cost was a shocking ~$750. When we were discussing the financial of it, my jaw practically dropped! Nevertheless, the environment was clean, the technology was neat (got a 3D scan of my entire mouth, which was neat), and the staff were extremely informative! read more

I don't recommend this place. I picked this place because they could take me in the quickest. I actually read the reviews on yelp about 20mins before coming here and it has a lot of negative reviews but I didn't want to cancel which I wish I did. Everyone were nice and friendly in there. Even the dentist were really polite including the manager. Here's the problem. After they took a panel X-ray including like 16 bitewings, the dental hygienist came in to examine me. She looked at the X-rays and told me that I have gum disease. She said my gums are inflamed. She told me, I needed a deep cleaning and explained to me what gum disease are, what causes it and the process for a deep cleaning. I stopped her and said, I don't have time today for a deep cleaning because i needed to go back to work. I asked her to just give me a regular cleaning today. She said, no, she can't give me a regular cleaning because I needed a deep cleaning. I was so upset and the reason is because I get my teeth clean twice a year. I didn't believe I have gum disease and I wanted a second opinion(I was iffy and seeing all the bad reviews). She said, the dentist will come and talk to me. The dentist said, he examined my X-rays and he concurred with the dental hygienist that I needed a deep cleaning. He agreed with her without examining my teeth with the tools. This doesn't sound right! At this point, I was just furious. He basically said the same thing the hygienist told me. I told him not to worry about it, I don't have time and need to get back to work. He said, he will let me talk to the manager and would only take 5 mins. The manager quoted me for the deep cleaning and said, I get $200 discount today(which I didn't know why I got a discount, maybe a new patient but I didn't bother to ask). My deep cleaning cost(after discount) is like $433. So I left without getting anything done and I was in there for like an hour just for X-rays and them telling me something I didn't think I have. I called my insurance and told them what happened. They said, usually the dental place would still give me a regular cleaning even if I needed other work done. I said, exactly! Well, I went to another place for a second opinion. The hygienist told me that parts of my gums are having problem and I need to floss more often(but she didn't tell me, I have gum disease). She examined my teeth and gum throughly including the dentist. She went ahead and gave me a regular cleaning and told me to come back in 3 months to see if my gums improve. If not, then I would need more work done. I appreciated this a lot better! read more

The entire staff from the front desk to the Benefits Manager were exceptional. The Oral Hygienist was thorough and ensured the treatment she provided was pain free. Both doctors had first class "bedside manners". They actually treat you like a unique person. Everyone there put customer service and patient care front and center. Dr. Chedly Vincent is absolutely an expert at what she does. The drive from NOLA CBD to Covington was worth my trip. I look forward to seeing them again today and in the future. My family and I go to the dentist on a regular basis for cleanings and such. I switched insurance and had to pick a new dentist. My daughter and I went into Aspen a couple weeks ago. The good: They were quick to schedule us in We didn't have a long wait The staff seemed friendly The office was very clean The bad: The hygienist did the periodontal exam on me and came up with numbers that were WAAAAY higher than I have ever had. Last exam being just 6 months ago. The came up with a pretty extensive amount of work that I needed to have done, totaling ~$3000 (before insurance); and for my daughter, they said she had 6 cavities (mind you just 6 months ago that wasn't the case) and an abscess. The plan of care for her would cost $2000 (before insurance). They also said they would have to refer her out to have all wisdom teeth pulled, even though only one looked like it would be problematic. I was baffled. I was thinking that would make sense if we weren't regularly seen/and treated in the past, but that's not us. I called my insurance company, explained my situation to see if they would cover a "2nd opinion". My rep said she has heard similar stories about Aspen. I then called my previous dentist to discuss with them. They know me well, know I switched insurance and won't come back this year because of the insurance. I just wanted an opinion of my results. I talked to my hygienist, she also confirmed hearing similar stories with "big box chain" dental offices like Aspen. She did explain that her results may differ from Aspens because the results can vary depending on how hard someone presses. It's possible my previous hygienist has a light hand while the one at Aspen has a heavy hand, resulting in different results. She recommended for me to find another dentist on my plan (she didn't recommend anyone) and to get a second opinion, so I did. My daughter and I had an appointment with another dentist yesterday. This dentist reviewed my x-rays. Like my original dentist, confirmed I have some bone loss but didn't make it seem like it was a pressing issue, like Aspen did. He did an exam and scraping and the hygienist did a cleaning. They saw no signs of periodontal disease. They recommended I continue to brush, floss and rinse and comeback later in the year for another exam/cleaning. After my exam, I explained my situation with Aspen. He too, just like my insurance company and previous hygienist have heard of similar stories from his patients. The impression I got from everyone is that the weren't surprised that Aspen was trying to do work that was not needed. This new dentist did confirm that my daughter had an abscess. He did write a Rx for an antibiotic (something Aspen didn't do) and recommend her out to get a root canal, then to follow up with a crown. He did not mention needing to remove all wisdom teeth or 6 cavities. I went with my gut, to get a second opinion because it just didn't make sense and I'm glad I did. The last thing I want is to spend more time in a dentist chair getting more work done than needed, just so someone can get paid. We all want good care but I believe in my heart that they were pushing the envelope and I would consider it to be unethical. I know this review was lengthy, but I hope it can help someone else. I would have given one star but I wanted to be honest in my findings. There were many good things about this office, they just don't outweigh the bad in my opinion. read more

I had an appointment today 10/27 for 1100 am. I had a tooth ache and needed to see a Dentist. Got there 20 minutes early to give info and then was given a battery of x-rays which concerned me and I told the Lady I was in pain an needed to see a dentist. I was taken to a room and asked questions and then a Hygienist came in to examine my gums. I asked WHAT FOR and told her I needed to see a dentist because of pain. She wasn't happy but said she would get a dentist and after waiting another 8 minutes I told her I was done and left. almost i hour wasted and no dentist. I then drove over to Metairie to Oak Family Dental Care and they saw me at 1:30, did two x-rays, the dentist came in and examined my teeth, did a couple of test and found the problem tooth. I decided to see an Oral Surgeon. The office recommended three Oral surgeons and gave me a prescription for a Z-pac. all this took 15 minutes and there was no charge. Literally the worst dentist office ever. They called me four times before I even went there to go over the process. They wanted to talk on the phone for forever. I get there and it takes forever. I spent over two and a half hours at a consultation where they literally did nothing. They didn't clean my teeth or anything. They talked and talked the whole time. When I get to almost leave to make an appointment, they want you pay for the services before you leave. That's right---- you have to pay for a service before it is done. Actually before you make an appointment. I've been to lots of different dentists, and I've never had to prepay for something. It's some type of scheme or something. Everyone was super weird. Would not go unless you would like to pay a ridiculous amount of money for unneccearry treatments. They'll also send you to collections for a bill that not only 1 manager told you was taken care of but 2 different managers as well as a division manager. I first went and they told me that I had to get a crown on one of my back molars because the top tooth had a crown and they wanted to protect the bottom tooth (note I have been having the crown on my top tooth since I was about 10 because I cracked the tooth). After the crown was placed I started to have a lot of sensitivity. I called and they told me that was normal. I showed up to my 6th month exam and told them again that it was really sensitive and they saw on my X-ray that there was a little hole on the base of my tooth that was not there prior. They told me to just wait and see if it got better. Well it didn't and I was in excruciating pain. So I called and spoke to the then manager Tibus who told me that they would fix it and cover the cost because it was a failed treatment. I then get a call the next day saying that they couldn't do it because the doctors didn't want to touch it. So I had to go pay an endodontist to fix the tooth (who was actually $200 cheaper than what aspen dental quoted me). Tibus had told me that they would pay for the crown build up and when I came in I asked again and was told that they would cover the cost. Well a few weeks later I get a bill for the crown buildup. I call and spoke to Nicole and she said that Tibus was no longer there so she would see what she could do. She called me back a day later and said that the division manager said that they would cover the cost so my balance was $0. A few months later I get a letter in the mail saying that I was sent to collections for the same bill. read more

Then I rescheduled an appointment for the following Wednesday at 8:30am my mother and I get here around 8:28 and there's no one in sight. Called to ask why and they say they aren't open till noon. Definitely do not recommend this dentist office. I went in for an emergency appointment as one of my veneers had come off. They were able to get me in right away and the staff was pretty nice, but they are all about the up-sale (I even saw their "sales achievement" board in the back). They wouldn't fix my veneer until they did the initial exam (which I guess was fine since I was due anyway) but based on that exam they wanted to do all sorts of work, much of which was unnecessary. They also make you prepay 50% of all services before they will even make an appointment for you, so in order for a temporary veneer to even be put on so I didn't look like a gremlin I had to pay 50% of all the things they diagnosed me with. The first thing they asked me is if I wanted to replace all of my veneers not just the broken one (even though they admitted there was nothing wrong with the others, I've just had them a while). Luckily I said no!!! They diagnosed me with gingivitis which I questioned of them since I was 35 weeks pregnant at the time and hormones cause all sorts of issues with your gums during pregnancy. They were insistent that I needed all of these treatments so I went ahead with them but after a second opinion the other dentist confirmed what I had already thought, no gingivitis just good old' fashion pregnancy hormones. They filled a cavity for me which now has to be redone since the work was not quality. After filling the cavity they did not correct my bite and they didn't fill it all the way so now I have a very sensitive and sore tooth. The filling has to now be taken out and redone. The veneer that they made for me (since they insisted my old one was cracked and I needed a new one vs. a reseal, which I still highly doubt was the case) was first done in the wrong color and when they finally got the right one it has fallen off 3 times since then. Each time I went in they just did a quick scrape and put more cement on to put it back, even though after having veneers for almost 15 years I know that is not the correct way to attach a veneer. On the 3rd time (and 6th visit in total to Aspen since my first appointment) I finally went to another dentist to have it put back on correctly, and based on that assessment the veneer will likely have to been redone in the near term as it was not made correctly for my tooth. I will NEVER go back to this office, even if it is an emergency, as the work is terrible quality and all they really try to do is sell you additional services you don't need. They also text or call you incessantly regarding appointments and feedback. read more

Dr. Vincent was AWESOME !!!!!! I'm 47 year old male and had all my wisdom done by her. And man I had 2 bottom wisdom teeth that were fused to the jaw bone. No problem for Dr. Vincent. This woman knows what she's doing. Great place and friendly staff. If you need to finance your teeth work they can do it with no money down. Go there.
