    They wanted some ridiculous amount of money like $2,000 to deep clean my teeth and the other dentist and Howell Michigan wants about 300.

    This was my post on their FB December 19th. I am pretty sure I posted a yelp review but don't see…read moreit so this is from their FB review: had been going to this dentist's office for almost a decade. I had 4 crowns put on my front teeth 6 years ago and had been experiencing bleeding between the two front teeth for years. Also at that time I noticed the bottom two front teeth getting a "yellowish" look at the bottom. I was told "oh that's your root...is it bothering you?" I would say no and they would say "oh well if it starts hurting let us know". Last september I went for my cleaning and they did the panoramic extra. Not once in the LAST 5 YEARS had they taken xrays of my front upper or lower teeth. Long story I won't drag out but he sent me to the periodontist who told me both my upper front teeth were having root resorption - a rare problem but from me previously having knocked them out years ago. But she was ABSOLUTELY STUNNED that he had not referred me for my bottom teeth and that I was in jeopardy of losing several of them as well. She actually said it TWICE. I am now facing having both top front teeth removed and replaced with implants, orthodontics to hopefully push my lower teeth down so the periodontist can perform a frenectomy ( which was causing my roots to show) and a gum graft. When confronted as to how he missed this all he could say was "I don't see your xrays on your front teeth". "I am not sure" .I am now facing HUGE bills to have all this work done For years I asked about my exposed roots and was told "oh do they hurt? if not let us know if they do". Run - don't walk from here! I wish there was a negative stars button!! This was their reply: Brighton Family Dentistry PLLC Hello Joann, we would like to extend to you our most sincere apologies regarding your recent experience with us. We've been providing Brighton residents with quality care for over 40 years, and we want to keep going for many more. I just got around to calling them as I was dealing with all kinds of other stuff and here is my post from last week: Just a follow up. I did reach out to you today to ask for all my records to be sent over to my new dentist as I now start to work on having my second front tooth extracted for an implant. I asked you how there was not any x-rays that had been taken of my front teeth upper or lower for 5 years and your answer was the same as Dr. Petersburg. "I don't know how that happened." I just spent the last 18 months in braces to push my front bottom teeth back into my gums and endured an incredibly painful gum graft in March to save them. At the same time pulling my front tooth down so it could be pulled out before it fell out and I would have had no bone left to put an implant into. The time, expense and pain I shared with you was answered with "I am not sure how that happened". I guess maybe you did not realize it was me as you stated above that you would love to personally discuss my concerns. Negative stars are not enough for your review.

    Extremely friendly, helpful and understanding!…read more I traveled from South Carolina to Detroit on Sunday evening for a two-week work, road trip. On Tuesday morning, after brushing my teeth, my temporary crown came off and I could not get this thing back on! And the missing tooth is the one right next to my front tooth so it was VERY noticeable. I did a quick search for dentists in the area and this location came up. I was immediately welcomed and when I explained the problem, in a few moments, I was with the dentist and she was helping me. I could not have completed the first week, let alone next week, without their help. And while I would have probably been able to get the tooth back in by any dentist, these guys were great. They were so nice, so understanding and very quick to take care of me. I've had good service at other places before but this was so outstanding I had to take a moment to thank them for their service and for their help. And I'll send them a little thank you besides this to show my appreciation. So blessed & so thankful.

    Bad Communication and Billing Practices…read more Short version: I came in for a cleaning, ended up being billed for another service and was told something different sitting in the chair. My dental insurance changed at my employer, so I was looking for a new dentist local to me. I scheduled an appointment for a routine cleaning as a new patient. When I came in they wanted to do the cleaning part first, then have me back in a few weeks later for gum measurements since they said they wouldn't be accurate. While I was in the chair I specifically asked several times if this was a regular cleaning and would be billed as such, even though we're doing things out of order. I was assured several times this would be the case (I've had issues with other dentists doing similar in the past). A few weeks later a bill shows up for the cleaning that my insurance won't cover, and upon contacting the office I received no help or explanation whatsoever besides "this is what we did". I'm extremely disappointed and won't be going back to this office, which is a shame because the staff and Dr. were very friendly. I never had any problems like this in the 3 previous years I was going to Charlick, Springstead & Wilson Dental Associates - I can wholeheartedly recommend them if your insurance will cover it.
