I had 4 crowns put on my front teeth 6 years ago and had been experiencing bleeding between the two front teeth for years. Also at that time I noticed the bottom two front teeth getting a "yellowish" look at the bottom. I was told "oh that's your root...is it bothering you?" I would say no and they would say "oh well if it starts hurting let us know". Last september I went for my cleaning and they did the panoramic extra. Not once in the LAST 5 YEARS had they taken xrays of my front upper or lower teeth. Long story I won't drag out but he sent me to the periodontist who told me both my upper front teeth were having root resorption - a rare problem but from me previously having knocked them out years ago. But she was ABSOLUTELY STUNNED that he had not referred me for my bottom teeth and that I was in jeopardy of losing several of them as well. She actually said it TWICE. I am now facing having both top front teeth removed and replaced with implants, orthodontics to hopefully push my lower teeth down so the periodontist can perform a frenectomy ( which was causing my roots to show) and a gum graft. When confronted as to how he missed this all he could say was "I don't see your xrays on your front teeth". "I am not sure" .I am now facing HUGE bills to have all this work done For years I asked about my exposed roots and was told "oh do they hurt? if not let us know if they do". Run - don't walk from here! I wish there was a negative stars button!! I did reach out to you today to ask for all my records to be sent over to my new dentist as I now start to work on having my second front tooth extracted for an implant. I asked you how there was not any x-rays that had been taken of my front teeth upper or lower for 5 years and your answer was the same as Dr. Petersburg. "I don't know how that happened." I just spent the last 18 months in braces to push my front bottom teeth back into my gums and endured an incredibly painful gum graft in March to save them. At the same time pulling my front tooth down so it could be pulled out before it fell out and I would have had no bone left to put an implant into. The time, expense and pain I shared with you was answered with "I am not sure how that happened". I guess maybe you did not realize it was me as you stated above that you would love to personally discuss my concerns. Negative stars are not enough for your review.

Wish I would have read the other reviews and gone somewhere else. I thought the staff was friendly…read moreenough. My issue is over the years they have canceled almost every appointment I have made. They closed for snow when there was no snow, the hygienist is out, and today with less 3 hours notice they canceled because the dentist had an appointment. I work an hourly job. If I take time off I don't get paid. I made the appointment, confirmed the appointment only to either show up and find the office closed or get a call that the dentist will not be there, not only don't I get paid but I don't get to see the dentist. They also billed for full mouth x-rays that they should have known my insurance doesn't cover. Now I'm stuck with a $110 bill, and they won't release the x-rays. Shameful! Don't go to Woodland Lake Family Dental!

The hygienists, assistants, techs, etc are equally as great. I see Dr. Birchmeier and I think he is a great dentist. He has his quirky dentist jokes and asks questions when he has his hands in your mouth! He really cares about his patients and when you have work done other than cleaning, he makes sure it's done right and looks great. The patient area is open and bright. So if you hate the dentist, this set up will help out with the anxiety. It's not a white sterilized room with tools laying around. And they have TV's on the ceiling!

I had a balance and they told me to have my insurance send me a check to send it back to them. I…read morehand delivered the check to the physical office I got services rendered at and they have said my money is still due three months later. There is a note in their system that verifies that they received the check and it has been pending for 1.5 months. I have called many times and been told it was escalated with no resolution. Today I received a text saying money I paid them already was sent to collections. I also called the office and was disconnected "on accident" after expressing frustration with money being sent to collections that my insurance has already paid. DO NOT GO HERE.

Don't make the same mistake I did. I was new to the area and had a crown come loose. I called this…read moredentist and for the most part they were friendly and inviting. I gave them my insurance information, I was presented with a quote, I approved the quote and then was charged "My estimated portion" which the insurance wouldn't cover. Fast forward to 2 months later when I get a bill for the whole amount. I look and find out that they are not an approved provider for my insurance. Stunned I called in and talked to the office manager. She was shocked and surprised that no one told me. I even went as far as booking future appointments with them because the estimate was correct for what I should have paid an in network dentist. At no time was I told that he was not in the network, I was left to assume that when they said they took my insurance, that they meant they "took my insurance" not that they would just bill for me. Sooo now I own 200.00 more than what I should and I regret ever going there. I asked if they would consider a discount for the lack of information, they said the charges are the charges. So lesson learned, never assume a doctor or dentist office takes your insurance, always call your carrier. Shame on the office staff who said they had never ever taken my insurance ever..not to tell me they didn't take it.
