Ok, My son went to Aspen with many needed dental issues. After full exam and many x rays the treatment plan was presented. $6800 for the work needed. We paid up front, big mistake don't do that. Several of the crowns required root canal after they were placed. I know that is not always known but this happened with every one of the 4 crowns they performed. This cost an additional $4400 to redo all 4 crowns with root canal and all new crown now have a hole drilled in them. Finally, son goes in to have last 2 crowns completed and Aspen says he now owes additional $950. I pay that because they sent him away until it was paid holding the crowns hostage. He went today and they told him he owes another $150 before they will place the last 2 crowns. Avoid Aspen at all costs. No real deal, shabby work. A real dentist wont cost this mich. read more

This business is shady. They treat you like garbage if you don't want their $25,000 dental work. Even with insurance they made me pay before the work was performed.. that was a first. A month later got a bill in the mail. Weird thing is on that bill it doesn't mention the money I already paid. So I called and was given some BS excuse on how they breakdown your payment into the various itemized services.. so it's not reflected in the bill.. that's Shady! read more

For 51 years I have been fortunate enough to have dental coverage through my employer which allowed me to have my teeth cleaned twice a year at no expense to me. Now that I am retired, I am on a Medicare Advantage plan with excellent dental coverage which also covers these bi-annual cleanings at no expense to me. I moved and one of the only dentists available in my area was Aspen dental. When I called to schedule my first appointment, I saw red flags when the scheduler would not commit to a free cleaning. The young technician who did my dozens of x-rays and 3D images was a delight. Then the hygienist inspected my teeth and reported early states of gum disease suddenly after 51 years. Courtney in their billing department advised they refused to do a routine cleaning until I paid for a procedure not deemed necessary by my insurance. Now I will have to sit out a year before I can go to another dentist to have my x-ray's redone. Not happy. read more

I've been to this office before. I didn't realize how low of a rating they have. It's been awhile but... I have a tooth that is likely infected. I was told they would have to do a complete new patient exam and work up a treatment plan $$$ in their pocket. I just need this tooth dealt with in a timely manner. Last time I was there, I had scheduled a cleaning to go along with the exam. Thought that was going to happen. Nope I was told at the appointment that I would have to schedule again for the cleaning. Added expense for no reason. Well they get another office visit fee. I did have a couple things done before, guess those were done in time for me to not get booted as a patient. read more

I had an appointment and needed to reschedule so I called 3 times and was put on hold for over 30 minutes each time before I finally hung up. When I tried to reschedule and finally got through the price of treatment went upland I was told I had to pay 60% down before they would schedule me because I had cancelled my appointment. The cost even with my insurance also went up. They always seemed irritated and short with me and never very helpful or clear with treatment plans. read more

This is in response to Aspen Dental's third request for me to leave a review for my visit on 6/8/24. Had another bad experience with the office manager at Aspen Dental Branson. I had to speak with her because I was questioning why there was an amount due when I had to sign the document at check-in. The front desk assured me that there was no charge that day for a simple filling. I got the filling done. The Dentist and the Dental Assistant were great. Upon leaving I was ushered into the office manager's office. She said the amount due charges were for my upcoming visit for cleaning at the end of August. I asked why it says amount due when the service wasn't being done for months. She told me not to worry about it. She asked me "why I keep leaving bad reviews that aren't true". I left one review on two different sites the same day about the same thing. I also filed a report with the BBB. This is Aspen Dentals response on Aspen Dental letterhead: "We are writing to acknowledge receipt of the complaint filed by Michael Cook regarding their experience at the Aspen Dental branded practice located at Branson, MO which is independently owned and operated by KAPILIKISHA DMD LLC. Upon receiving the complaint, the office that treated the patient will initiate an internal review of the issues raised. A team member from that office will then be reaching out directly to the patient to discuss the details of the complaint and work towards a mutually agreeable solution." A team member never responded to this. I was also told by two different employees that the acting office manager was actually the Aspen Dental Regional Office Manager and was just filling in until she found a replacement for the Branson location. When I was in her office, she was rude, condescending and was not listening to any of the facts that I was presenting. I mentioned that I asked the previous office manager to get pre-authorization for my previous visit. She told me that the insurance company only gives an estimated benefit, and that pre-authorization is the same thing. My insurance company said that the estimate is based on the service and the provider filing the correct forms with the correct documentation in a timely manner. So, an estimate is an estimate, and the pre-authorization is pre-approved. I live in a rural area and my Medicare Supplement plan is very limited to where I can be seen. I also pay for a supplemental plan through the VA with Delta Dental. I would like to go to a dentist where I can use both in case I exceed the maximum on one plan. I also think that everyone else at that location is very professional and polite. Finally, I got tired of the office manager's unprofessional behavior. While in her office I told her that this was Bull$hit and I was leaving. That is the only strong word I used. She followed me out of the office and said, "what is bullshit is for you to come in here cussing". If the word, Bull$hit was too strong of a word in the office behind a closed door why did she follow me out and make a scene for all to hear. read more

1 hour and 25 minute wait for my appointment. I got there 5 minutes early. Temperature in the waiting room was 63 degrees according to the receptionist. She said she was from Michigan and she it was still to hot for her. I guess as long as she's happy everyone else that was shivering can just deal with it. Sat through the x-rays and then was told $17,809, after discounts, or $3,903 for two crowns. I'm pretty sure someone is building a new house and needs some extra funds. I'll be looking for a second and third opinion. read more

We just moved to Branson from St Louis, looking for a dental office in the area, so we decided to try Aspen Dental. Scheduled a visit so both my wife and I could get our semi annual teeth cleaning done. Upon arrival they took several x-rays and said they were done and when we asked about the scheduled teeth cleaning they stated they never do those on the first visit. Then we are instructed to meet with the next person who proceeds to tell both of us that we have periodontitis disease and an extensive cleaning is needed that will cost a minimum of $1500 per person. This diagnosis is a shock since we both visit our prior dentist on a regular basis and never any mention of this problem. I ask how often this office makes this diagnosis and the employee could only say that she had been there for only 3 weeks. At this point while in the presence of this employee I do a simple Google search for Aspen Dental and periodontitis and find several references by others that this was their same experience across the United States and a few references to a class action lawsuit being filed for this frequent bogus diagnosis. By now we are convinced this is nothing but a scam and we terminate our visit. We strongly recommend that you go elsewhere in Branson for any dental needs you may have. And then to top it off - we get a bill for $10 for each of us, simply because we have insurance. When we asked what we got for our $10 they stated x-rays. We said ok when you send us the x-rays we will pay the bill. Waiting now on the x-rays to show up! read more

Not that it was required, but very sad to hear the Branson location did not participate in a day dedicated to providing free services to Veterans, but I still made an appointment for another day (nationwide stores participate). Took 3 weeks to get appointment for Denture replacement. New Dentures did not fit (full upper and partial lower). Full upper fell out of my mouth after they tried to make it fit. Tech recommend polident to make upper fit (after I said new Dentures should not need polident they agreed to reline the upper). . Lower partial was nowhere near close to fitting, they ground on it four times. After cutting my lower gums from trying to make it fit the answer was make a new one. Finally decided to ask for full refund. I got my up front money back right away but insurance company is still trying to get the money back they paid them. Also note must be taken of the fact that they took my cash up front and billed the insurance company on the same day they tried to cram the dentures in my mouth. read more

Don't go here if you have a small mouth. Don't believe the satisfaction guarantee. I went to get a new denture that I had had for awhile. Two teeth in the front was pulled. The dentist numbed my tongue all the way in the back and I could not swallow the pain meds. The next morning, I had bruises on both sides of my mouth and had a tear on my lip in the corner. When I came in to get the mold done for my new denture, the tech informed me that she did not have a mold small enough to fit my mouth and we would have to make due. I should have ran then but did not. Many visits and more than a year later, I still do not have a denture I can use. I have had 4 different techs. The last one told me that something had gone wrong from the beginning and that she could only advise me to purchase a new denture, Not my fault and I can't afford a new one. I also received a year old bill that I knew nothing about. I thought everything was included and I already paid. I hope this keeps someone from going through Want I did. read more

Make sure you call before your appointment, you could arrive to an empty parking lot and a note on the door saying they are closed. That is exactly what happened to me yesterday. I had an appointment for a tooth extraction, showed up and no one was there. I did not receive a phone call or a voice message from them alerting me to their need to close the office. Called them this morning and was told they called me and left me a voice message. This was an out and out lie, there were no missed calls on my phone and no voicemail messages. I asked to reschedule and was told they could not get me in until September something, today is August 20th. "They" were not there for "my" scheduled appointment and now "I" have to suffer with a bad tooth until September? Completely unacceptable. I found a new dentist, called Aspen Dental and asked them to forward my records to my new dentist. I was told they could not do that unless I came in to sign paperwork requesting the records. Keep in mind, I live an hour and a half away from their office, I already lost wages yesterday to go to an appointment that did not happen, lost wages again today going to sign the paperwork to release my records. They also tried to tell me Corporate had to send the records and it would be weeks before that happened. Again, I told them that was unacceptable. Bottom line, I walked out with a copy of my x-rays in hand and a hope and prayer that Corporate will forward the rest of my records. I would not recommend Aspen Dental to anyone!!! read more

Worked with me and my insurance today so that X-rays, cleaning, two cavities, and a missing tooth came to $48 out of pocket. The tooth is what they call a "flipper" and not and implant but it will be a dramatic improvement and I can always get an implant if it proves to be uncomfortable. I took my daughter in for a chipped tooth and to start with they required X-rays to see her or treat her even though she had X-rays less than 6 months prior, $$$. She had a chipped a tooth and when they saw her they said there is nothing they could do to repair or fix it. . I decided I would try Aspen Dental based on their TV ads which included financing for services. Getting a first visit was easy and they did all sorts of scans. I have had a total of 3 teeth pulled years back and I am interested in implants. After getting looked over by 3 different people I was told I had a cavity in the base where I have a crown and they showed me a paper with a large number that was for having 2 implants done. By the time they got to talking numbers I was tired. The paper they showed me had the amount I would have to pay. They said that they applied what I insurance would pay but it was not on the paper. Also, the dentist said that he would have to do more exrays because he was not sure I had enough bone there. After having the cavity done and the new crown placed I requested more information about the cost. The dentist did not want to talk about that and said he would have the billing office call me. Yet at the same time he said the price would be the same. I was wanting an itemized statement of what services would be involved and the cost for each service, how much my insurance was going to pay, and what financing arrangements they had. After waiting a week with no call I called the office, explained what I wanted and that I have not received a call yet. Again, I was promised a call from the business office. After another week without a call I canceled my follow-up cleaning and had them send my records and images to my new dentist. read more

If I could give minus or no stars that's what these people would receive. My 9 year old broke one of his front bottom teeth clean off while playing football with his brother on Sunday. On Monday I looked online for local dentists since we moved to Branson in the fall 2020 and haven't braved the dental world after 2019 yet. I found aspen dental had online scheduling with a big banner saying free x-rays and initial exam for new clients,perfect I thought. I can get the initial new client stuff out of the way so we can focus on the poor babies broken tooth. Thankfully he wasn't in great pain but clearly I was concerned because it was right at nerve level. There was even a broken tooth reason to come into the office with,it looked like we were off to a great start,I couldn't get in that day but there was an immediate opening for Tuesday,I booked it with little effort and even filed the paper work out online to avoid time spent in the office! When we arrived there were like 5 women "working" and one other lady checking in with giant signs saying they finance! Don't worry poor people with no insurance,we've got you and your poor teeth covered,no credit,no problem anyway long story short, she handed me the covid non friendly device I doubt they ever sterilize to fill out more info when she realized it was my young son the apt was for and told me the free exam was for 18 years old and up,there were a ton of signs ALL OVER the small lobby yet nothing have the disclaimer on age. Ok, how much will it be then I asked. First figure the "new" lady at the front desk told me was $200something, wow,for you to xray and tell me my options for fixing broken tooth? I started getting a little sassy/frustrated / irritated. My sweet son is sitting there with a broken tooth he's already waited 2 days to get help with and he's watching this go down hill. Whilst standing there,she changed the price to $250something then after the bigger lady came up front to "handle" me for mainly being upset for the bait and switch of promise for free x-rays and initial, the price went to $300 something JUST TO HAVE MY 9 YEAR OLDS TOOTH LOOKED AT TO TELL ME WHAT ELSE THEY WOULD CHARGE ME FOR TO FIX IT! I was forced to take X-rays then told I am not covered in my medicare insurance for cleanings because of bad gums. I was told I needed a scaling, not covered for 600 dollars and I still would not be covered by my insurance after - ever- because my gums will never get better. I am in my 60s. Why go there if not covered? And why X-rays when I wasn't getting any services done? After 30 X-rays I demanded they stop and they still kept demanding more. They put me in a waiting area and the workers would walk by and look at me like a zoo animal. Thanks for nothing. read more

When I appeared at the door for my appointment(the door was locked because of the Covid-19 problem) she shoved the thermometer in my face with out telling me she was doing so. I was triggered badly! I was told that the Hygenist quit and that I couldn't get in until Oct! She said you can go to the Springfield office they can get you in sooner. I called the office there and got an appt 2 weeks out. I drove down there today and when the Hygenist which was rude said well, I don't know if I can clean your teeth because I have 6 people to do today. I said how come this apptointment was given to me then? She said, I don't know directly, go talk to the front desk! I took off the paper towel and said I am out of here! This is ridiculous and walked out! Drove 1 hour and 20 minutes to Springfield to than turn around and drive home! Customer service is very important to me! If I could rate less than zero I would made a Saturday appointment as I had a cracked tooth. Was told they would extract it for me if no infection. I told them I was on amoxicillin from my VA clinic. Drove 2 hours for the appointment and was told they are only going to do initial exam and discuss prices. This is not what I was told when I made appointment and explained my condition. Lady at desk said so sorry our call center is on the east coast and should not have told me that. So they said they could do nothing today but X-ray and check the discuss costs. Don't go here Bait and switch!!! Made some calls and was referred to Jordan valley health. They checked me in pulled 2 teeth had to get the broken piece of root out did a great job. They even had an E.R. diversion grant that they suggested I use. Total time 2 1/2 hours. Total cost $25.00. read more

Going to aspen dental has been the WORST experience of my life. I get there for a cleaning and a checkup and I've had a pain in the top right back tooth for a while so I wanted to know if it was a cavity. When I first get there The women at the front desk were very rude and I'm like "OK whatever" so I go back there and they do x-rays and after the x-rays they just pick around at my teeth and I can literally feel them chipping away at it and then they tell me "OK all done" so I didn't even get anything I was looking for and mind you I am 17 I am legally a minor and when I wanted my mom to be back there they went to "look" for her but she was not brought back there with me. So I had no adult supervision with me and they made me sign all these papers that I'm not even supposed to sign and they did not even tell me that. I had a dentist appointment today to get a filling because apparently I need one so they drilled a hole into my teeth and filled it but it was the wrong tooth! I've never had a problem with the tooth that they filled and mind you during this whole process the doctor numbed me and he left for half an hour and then came back to finish the job and now I have to go back to Aspen dental for another appointment that isn't for the tooth that is hurting. I'm not going back and I will be contacting my insurance and I'm going to get a refund. Aspen dental is complete BULLCRAP. I am NEVER going back ever again. I had an appointment on 4/12/22. They said I would get the results in an email. I did receive a couple of emails saying 25% off of services but never got the results of my visit. I called them on 4/25/22 and told the receptionist I never heard anything back after my visit. She said I have it right here and started to read it. I asked if she could send me a copy she said yes. I got an email that said I needed a crown and my cleaning for a total of $1,427.00. I emailed back the same day and said yes I want to get this done. I have never heard back from them. Unbelievable! Don't waste your time, literally! My husband and I made an appt. Customers kept coming it even though it was 5pm for our appt. One customer had even left and came back and they got her in before us. I guess making an appt really has no bearing! We waited an hour and ten minutes before deciding to say something. The receptionist said she was sorry but it could be another hour! I about lost it. Luckily husband was there! So we rescheduled! Our appt is a month out! They couldn't get us in any sooner regardless of how poorly we had been treated. The worst part is that my husband works 12 hour shifts! He goes in at 4am and gets off at 4pm our appt was for 5pm! We waited all that time for nothing. There is more! So I get a call from them yesterday and the receptionist said she didnt want to call us but they made her! She said the doctor wasn't going to be in on the scheduled date and wanted us to come in tomorrow which is now today! I couldn't believe it! I said my husband works! He can't just call in because its convenient for you guys! She said well I'm not sure when we can get you in since the doctor isn't going to be here the date we scheduled for you! I'm beyond floored by the HORRIBLE treatment, lack of responsibility for the patients, and respect for others! Yes, they advertise free this and that but is it really worth it? For years I've driven over 30 miles for dentistry work because I get taken care of quickly and efficiently. I decided to give this place a try because it's closer to home, and they offer a free exam and x-ray. At the time I was having pain in a tooth that was sensitive to cold, and I just wanted them to look at it. They told me that it would be over a month before I could even get in for my free exam. Super helpful. So I'm supposed to just suffer through the pain for another month? I went ahead and set up an appointment for the free exam, and as soon as I left the office I called my other dentist and they got me in the very next day. So a month later Aspen Dental called me to remind me of my 5:00 appointment for Thursday, February 18th. I asked the lady on the phone how long the whole thing would take, since I had places to be at 6:30, and she said it should only take an hour. She also asked if I could show up about 15 mins early to fill out some paperwork. So I showed up yesterday at 4:45, signed in, and filled out my paperwork. There were 3 or 4 other people in the waiting area at the time. The staff behind the desk seemed more concerned with talking among themselves than paying attention to any of their customers, so I just set the paperwork at the empty reception desk and proceeded to sit there for another hour without anyone saying a single damn word about how much longer this would take, or even why it was taking this long in the first place. I watched 3 or 4 other people show up after me, go in to see the dentist, and then leave, and yet here I am still sitting here. One lady showed up about 30 minutes after me, and they even told her "Thanks for showing up early". During this hour of waiting for nothing the receptionist's family showed up to bring her cookies and see her, and while I find it slightly unprofessional to have your family show up and hang out in your business setting, I wasn't offended by it. But then they stuck around for a good 20 minutes, hanging out and talking right in front of me. Other customers would walk in and there was no receptionist at the desk because she was too busy taking her son back to see all the other workers in an attempt to get money from them for some fundraising thing he was doing. And then she came back and stood there talking to her husband about blah blah blah personal life stuff that no one cares about. This is where it gets to the point of being highly unprofessional. I work at a company that doesn't even allow its own employees to be on the property if they're not there to work, and I respect that because it's a business, and the people on property should be there for business reasons. Not to hang out and talk about stuff they could easily talk about later when they got home after work. None of the conversation this receptionist was having was anything that couldn't wait until later. So finally around 5:55, 70 minutes later, they call my name and I ask the girl how long this will take. She didn't know, because it depended on when the hygienist got to me, etc. I asked it it would be like 10-15 minutes (because my other dentist did the x-ray and full exam in about 15 minutes just the month before, so I know it's possible), and she said, "Well, we have you blocked out for an hour." "Ok," I said, "So how long is it going to take? Just give me some number." "An hour." "An hour from right now, or an hour from 5:00 when my appointment was?" "An hour from now." "So why did I come in at 5:00 then?" "Sorry, we got busy and got behind." I told her to forget it and walked out, past the receptionist who was still standing in the waiting area talking to her husband, not paying a single ounce of attention to the customer. A little heads up that my wait would be an hour longer than you had told me would have been nice. Maybe hiring a few more staff members (replace the ones behind the front desk) might help speed things up. Or maybe you try a little harder to live by a "first come, first served" mentality, so that I'm not sitting there watching people arrive, get dental work done, and then leave, while I have to listen to what kind of laundry detergent the receptionist wants her husband to pick up. But I should thank Aspen Dental, because they clearly reminded me of why I drive so long and so far for good dental work, and why I'll never step foot back in this joke of a dentist office ever again. read more

I heard my husband call & schedule his cleaning. When the day came, they had no appt for him that day (or any other day) so clearly they have scheduling issues. I wouldn't have complained except they didn't even offer to work him in that day, even though he told him of issues he was having with a wisdom tooth they had pulled weeks earlier. I agree with what others are saying--don't go there. All they care about is money. The ONLY reason I went was it was on the preferred provider list for my medicare insurance. I made the appointment because I had a loose tooth. That walk-in emergency appointment they claim is false. When I arrived all they were concerned about were x-rays, couldn't find any problem about a loose tooth ( I later found out it was a sinus infection) and insisted I needed a deep cleaning. After they probed my teeth my gums were bleeding. Of course insurance doesn't cover that. After paying hundreds close to 1000.00 they said I need to come back to finish the cleaning. 4 months later I have another appointment. They texted my to confirm appt. I called 3 work days before appt. & left a message that I needed to know what was to be done & how much would I owe. The day before the appt. I received a text--very important you need to confirm your appt. After several attempts I finally got the a person & explained I had left a message about what I needed to know. She looked up my account & told me another cleaning & another 274.00. I said cancel that. I am a senior & I have diabetics, and on S.S. I need professionals ( as everyone does) to be to be trustful & not money grabbers. You better believe my insurance will hear, doubt it will help they ptobably get a kick-back. Was having at bad toothache. Think it needed to be pulled. Set a 11:15 appt. with Aspen and showed up 10 minutes early to do paperwork and insurance. Sat for 45 minutes before the receptionist even starting calling my insurance company. She was too busy running around saying "we're short handed, we're shorthanded." Saw 4 people who came in after me go back and one even said "I know I'm early my appt. isn't until 12:00." But back she went. I told the receptionist I couldn't wait any longer as I had to get back to my job. She couldn't have cared less. So I guess I'll bear the pain and find me a real dentist office. read more

Very Scary. My rating is steer clear of Aspen dental: My husband and I have been to aspen dental and have had some work done such as fillings and x-rays. When we needed more detailed work such as a crown for an implant I went in and a women in the back took an impression for the crown all the while I had an eerie feeling. I told her that I didn't feel like the impression was quite right she ignored me. The impression she took was sent to the lab. I went in and she placed the crown on with some glue. I went home and while eating lunch the crown fell off. I went back and she acted like she didn't know what had happened she took the crown to the dentist and she came back to me and said,"it broke". It is a long story the jest of it is she had no idea what she was doing. I went to a different dentist and had it done properly it was a much more detailed procedure. At Aspen I complained to manager and she argued with me about the incident and covered up the fact that the whole thing was a farce. My husband went to Aspen and had a regular crown done and it fell of the next day he went back and the woman in the back re attached it it fell off two more times. We went to the aspen in Springfield thinking we could get it done for no extra cost guess again they reattached it it took two hours for them to clean the tooth up before it could be fixed properly we were charged $ 80.00 and our insurance was charged over a $ 100.00. We are going to a legitimate dentist now and steering clear of Aspen altogether. Many more questionable things happened there with scheduling the whole place is not safe. read more

Appointments tend to be suggestions. I can understand waiting 10-20 minutes but an hour is unacceptable. Also if there is a delay in insurance verification, know that will need to be resolved and money collected before they will see you. read more

They do not have "happy gas". Their staff and their dentist, Dr. Alvarez smokes and you can smell it. I had periodontal work done which should have been covered 50% by my insurance but I ended up paying for nearly 75% because of all the "extra" stuff they added on that wasn't necessary. They even charged me for toothpaste that every other dentist in the WORLD gives for free when you visit them (and didn't tell me until after I paid for it). They stated I needed four cavities filled so I got a second opinion at a great dentistry office in Branson (unmentioned) and they stated that I only needed one. They stated my bone structure and gums were fine and insinuated that I was probably "taken" by them. Aspen Dental is more focused on corporate profits and bonuses than the patient in front of them. I couldn't ask for a better experience at a dental office! All the staff is very friendly and accommodating!! I showed up an hour early to one of my appointments by accident, and I had to wait, but they did get me in a bit early. I had just had a horrible experience with another dental office for dentures about a week before, and I was unable to wear them; they had worn a huge blister in my mouth. That dentist refused to help me with the dentures. So that was money wasted because I tried to fix them myself since she wouldn't adjust them when I first received them! I went into Aspen dental completely desperate to get dentures as fast as I could get them!! I just couldn't go around with no teeth, that was not an option for me!!! And I was so amazed!!! Everyone was so understanding of my situation and did everything they possibly could to help me get dentures as fast as I possibly could, that actually fit me and looked good too!!! I went in on Monday and was praying I could get them by Friday, but assuming I wouldn't get them until the following Monday at the earliest; they managed to get them to me by Tuesday; the very next day!!! I know they were busy they squeezed me in is what they did, but they knew how desperate I was!!! That's the type of people they have working at Aspen Dental in Branson Missouri!!! My huge gratitude goes to Keith the lab tech and Shelby the DA for all they did for me I can't thank them enough!!! I wanted to hug them both!!! So my "hug" is a five star rating!!
