1. My appointment was at 7:30am. I arrived at 7:25am. I wasn't seen by a provider until 8:10am. No one apologized for this and the lady at the front desk even indicated that their hygienist showing up at 8am was somehow my fault. 2. The dentist, first, poked around and said that my teeth looked great, to start flossing and get more regular cleanings (fair), but that overall I looked good. 3. The hygienist came in second (by this time it was 8:15am, 45 minutes after my appointment) and poked around for about 3 minutes before telling me I had severe issues. Conveniently these severe issues (that the actual dentist didn't see after poking around) would cost me $2000. 4. They don't do a cleaning on the first visit. This is not made clear whatsoever. I would not have booked if I knew they did an "initial consultation" like a med spa. Also--if you offer an initial consultation, it should be free. It's a consultation for potential services rendered. When I asked about the cleaning, the lady at the desk said that whoever called me to confirm the appointment should've told me they don't do a cleaning on the first visit. Nobody ever called to confirm my appointment. So, I arrived at 7:25am for my 7:30am appointment, waited for the hygienist to arrive, was told one thing by the dentist and something completely different by the hygienist, and walked out at 8:30am after sitting in two separate waiting rooms for the majority of an hour and wasting my biyearly free checkup. They had absolutely no concern for doing the dental work. It was just about quoting me about $20,000 in dental work even though I had insurance through my job they didn't even complete the cleaning. I decided to go to Aspen because their commercials state they offer dental implants. Like everyone else on here, they performed a LOT of x-rays, came up with a "treatment plan", and things needed prior to the implants. I (stupidly) went forward with their plan but by the time (3 mths later) we got to the implants, it has been one thing after another!! Now, here we are 3 1/2 yrs later and still NO IMPLANTS!!! Only 2 of the 4 have "stuck", with lousy explanation after the other from them. Everything that was "no problem" during out consultation is NOW a problem!! They suggested that I have grafting done that would guarantee the implants would work. I had the grafting done ALREADY. They forgot!!! Just save your sanity and go somewhere else!! It is not worth putting up with the attitude, rudeness, and basically unprofessional treatment you will suffer here!!! My cleaning appointment was scheduled for 11 am, March 18th on November 27th of last year. Starting March 12th, I was hounded by Aspen Dental via email and text to call to reschedule my standing appointment. After 2 emails and 2 texts in less than 24 hrs, I called on March 13th and was informed that the hygienist assigned to me was being assigned to training. I was offered an appointment for March 14th at 1 pm and was told that if I failed to jump to take that, the next opening would be after mid-April. So, I cleared my calendar and made myself available on March 14th at 1 pm. Upon checking in at said time, I was asked to cough up $230 for the first of my twice-yearly regular cleanings, for which my co-pay should amount to $14.60. Not the first time that Aspen Dental has attempted to extort more than they are due from me. When I asked your staff how she came up with $230, she kept muttering "weird" while staring at her computer. She then told me that I was being asked to pay that amount as my insurance would not cover the cleaning, as I was returning under 6 months from when I was last seen on November 27th. She told me that to get my "covered" cleaning, I can only be seen 6 months+1 day after my last appointment, or I'd have to pay $230. She even pulled up my patient history going back to September 2019 and came to the same conclusion. Well, I knew something was off, but short of calling my insurance company from your office (yet again - had to call on November 27th as well) to figure it out, I had absolutely no choice, but to accept a rebooking for May 29th - you guessed it - 6 months+1 day from my last appointment. Basically, going forward, I can only be seen in May and November per Aspen's front office! This story has a very familiar ending with Aspen Dental screwing its customer yet again. Needless to say, my insurance company verified that there is no time restriction between appointments as long as I don't exceed 2 cleanings a year. Imagine, for whatever reason, I decided to keep that appointment by paying $230...I would have been cheated. Even if I realized it later (which I'm sure so many others don't), you would have been sitting on my money interest-free, and I would have had to spend countless hours on the phone to get it back, with no apology or admission of any wrongdoing by Aspen Dental. I can't be the only one this happens to EVERY SINGLE TIME, otherwise it would amount to persecution! There was an older man and an older woman waiting to be seen when I stopped by on March 14th. I was told as a New Patient that they really wanted to help me with my Dentures. Upon calling back to schedule my first appt. I was asked if I had any Insurance. Yes, I do & told her who it was. No problem, we accept ALL INSURANCE according to the lady from Aspen Dental. When I arrived to my appt today. I was told it was ok to enter the building. Once I gave her my Cigna Health Card (I called Cigna this morning to verify if I had Dental). She told me that they do take Cigna but not my Dental Plan. Are you kidding me????? I do not appreciate having my time & day wasted just to get me in the door. So, I was told to call Cigna & have them give me a Referral. DO NOT GO HERE!!!. THEY DO NOT CARE!!!. SCAM DEFINITION [skam] NOUN informal** "A dishonest scheme; a fraud". *Aspen ordered mega Xrays, even though I told them I had a complete series 4 months prior. *The dentist stated I had advanced periodontal disease, however, never gave me even a CURSORY oral exam. *ASPEN Dental REFUSED to do a regular cleaning even though I came here only because my regular dentist couldn't fit me in before the end of the year. (I clean my teeth 4 times annually as routine care). *The standard of community care is not met. *Despite their claims on ASPEN Dental recording that they accommodate patient needs and concerns fully, this is the furthest from the truth. *I submitted a complaint into the GA Dental Board of Dentistry 2 months ago. This place is a scam. I am a young college student who has received good dental care my entire life and Aspen told me I had gingivitis and needed to pay $200 out of pocket for a special deep cleaning. It all felt off to me so I went to a different dentist 2 weeks later who confirmed I do not have gingivitis and that places like Aspen will tell you unnecessary things to get more money out of you. I went there with a broken tooth. And all they gave me was ibuprofen. I suffered with the worst pain, and they never returned my call. I went by to a 1 hour denture place and got better service. They gave me pain meds and cut out my tooth. They went over all the things I needed, and then quoted me a price. Then to find out the price was just for the 1st procedure. My dentist is short with me and doesn't care about my pain. My lips tighten when she hurts me. And she just wants me to relaxy lips. read more

Had a very rushed and unprofessional experience. First, had x Ray's done because I was a new patient, by a fumbling young man with a neck beard who didn't look like he was very sanitary, and who was also training someone when he himself didn't seem to know what he was doing. Then the doctor came to see me, quickly explained what needed to be done and sent me off to finance to pay for it. When getting to finance, found out that my bill was upwards of $2000, because they had upsold me all sorts of mouthwashes, electric toothbrushes, and additional items and services I didn't ask for. When I outright asked the woman how much it would be for just the deep clean and nothing else, she told me over $600 WITH my insurance. I got up and walked out. Never again. read more

I wish I listened to the other reviews before I wasted time off to come to this place. First, it is full of rude, rushed staff who do not have it together. I get a call the day before that my appointment is canceled because they are understaffed, then half way through the call the staff member realizes she is calling me about the wrong date - ridiculous. But, I decided to come in anyway and they act like used car salesmen. I was offered everything in the book, but when I said I just wanted my regular preventative cleaning they informed me that I can't have that. I must pay for the extra cleanings (coincidentally the ones my insurance only pays $13 of) or have nothing at all. They will diagnosis you with whatever makes them the most money. Then when I mentioned this I was rudely asked "so you care about money more than your health" (as if that is a binary dilemma). This is my first time at this place and I will never return. This is a dentist office to be avoided at all costs. They run a series of long and painful tests. Then they immediately tell you you need peridontal work. Whatever they find in their tests, do NOT allow them to do work on you that day. With my wife, they drilled on her teach to weaken them and claimed she had multiple cavities to fill. The pricing is horrible. Unfortunately I found out extractions there are $50 more then other places. When you are on a limited income, paying cash for part of the work being done every penny counts. They are not only derelict in proper patient care and follow up but after numerous delays in scheduling me to remove an IMPACTED tooth and ending up pulling THREE, I had whole body chronic aches and infections for over a year - no follow up wellness checkup was scheduled and as a result I had a 4 month swollen jaw and destructive bone cavitation. But I could count on them handing me a ridiculously priced deep cleaning as I exited their doors for the last time - no discounts for out of pocket cash pay. Boo hiss. There's plenty of bad reasons they only have 1.5 stars out of 5 on yelp. Never again. Be really smart: don't even think of using them. They are health and wallet destroyers. Total waste of time. Aspen staff would not perform a regular tooth cleaning & said I needed a deep cleaning that would cost $1000. And refused to give me a regular cleaning. The decision Aspen people made was totally over board & not needed. Left their office & went to my old dentist which cleaned my teeth immediately no problem except now my xray benefit is used up. I asked my old dentist after my cleaning about periodontal disease & he said "there's some but not enough to worry about now". I made an appointment and upon confirmation of my appointment I was told I wouldn't receive a cleaning with my visit. When I questioned why I couldn't have a cleaning I was told I had to be evaluated first. Then schedule another appointment for cleaning. I had my dentures relined at the Oconee location. This type of procedure will need adjustments in the first few days following to grind down rough and tight spots. I called in to let them know I needed an adjustment and asked if I needed an appointment. They said no it wasnt busy at the moment if I could come in then, it would be quick. I headed there immediately and when I arrived only one other patient was there in lobby. They made me remove my teeth in the front lobby and explain to the tech, over the reception desk, in full view of the waiting patient what I needed and refused to let me wait in the back waiting area saying if I had made an appointment I could wait in private. I was humiliated. About to burst into tears when the tech came back with my teeth, he kindly called me over to the side and apologized for the lack of empathy from the other staff. I was looking for a new dentist as mine was no longer in practice. And the search continues. Oh, and I could go on about leaving me unattended as I gagged and vomited while they let the mold harden, or the scrapes the dentist left on my gums ramming my uppers into place for the mold and the chuckle when I exclaimed in pain. I have been here because of insurance but I will try another location to see if I like the dentist any better. The prices are better than other dentists I've checked because of dental discount. I went in for a whitening procedure and the hygienist walked me through the procedure, step by step, explaining each part, and how it would feel. It was not exactly a pleasant experience, but I love the finished product! It was exactly as she described and I felt she was very thorough, knowledgable and kind. I decided to go here after over a month waiting to get in. I had a broken tooth and they didn't seem to have anything sooner. After going, the first time, it was just a check up and it was fine. After the checkup, they let me know the finances of the future dental work I'll need done. The lady tells me the total and asks if I want to do it up front or monthly, I pick monthly. After she asks me a few questions, I tell her is this a credit check, she says no.... it did. I am a uper mad that she continued to do it.. TWICE after I said not to in the first time. So I had to go back like a week later to still get my broken tooth fixed (finally) it took them forever to see me and I was there on time for my appointment. It took about 4 shots to numb my mouth and it still hurt the whole time. Needless to say, this place is not worth it and my tooth still isn't fixed. A waste of time and money.
