Every mezze was delicious, but my favorites have to be the eggplant and the spicy pepper dip. As for the chicken and rice, the chicken was melt-in-your mouth tender, but what surprised me the most was the rice. Although it may look like your standard rice, it must have been cooked in a rich chicken broth for it was incredibly savory! Overall, this was a unique dining experience. It was a great way to end our trip to Goreme.

We all had the Elmacioglu iskender which is different than the regular one by having egg plant and inegol meatball. It was a quality one and we were all satisfied with it. But it was not so different than any other quality iskender you can have in other cities. We also had ezme salat to share. It was different than the eastern style with more tomato flavor. But it was certainly good. We had iskender ayran (yogurt drink). Goat yogurt made the taste different than the regular ayrans. Employees were helpful, but not cheerful and looked tired at around the noon time.

Centrally located in Goreme around a lot of popular hotels. Warm, rustic, homey interior. Seating area consists of large tables and you sit on the floor over cushions. Shoes off before stepping into the seating area. Menu si known for homestyle cooking and an iconic dish is their pottery kebab. Meat is slow cooked in a sealed pot for 3 hours. The pot is then brought to the table, cracked open, and the contents poured onto a plate in front of you. Very aromatic, flavorful, and tender. They also make their own wine in house, which is a must try. Red wines are served cooler, though not cold. I also recommend the little little on the middle menu item as it consists of a lot of small shareables, similar to mezze, that you can enjoy along with your meal. Staff is very friendly. They even gave us a tour of the wine cellar which was really neat.

The most popular dishes are homemade mantı (Turkish ravioli), kurufasulye (dried white beans) and testi kebabı (pottery kebab). Traditional desserts aside and kayısı tatlısı are worth to taste. It was nice having the restaurant to ourselves so we could talk to the owners and workers. They were happy to show us the soups available as well as letting our children watch the food being made. My husband order his usual lamb chops. He said they were some of the best he has had in over a year here. My boys shared a plate of chicken śiśh. Their food was plentiful with both boys eating and having left overs. I was very pleased with my chicken pottery meal. My pottery dish was filled to the max with fresh onions, green peppers, tomatoes, spices, and chicken. It was delicious! (I added a picture on here already).
