I purchased a couples massage Groupon to go with my best friend (my husband hates massages, he's…read morecrazy)! The price was absolutely right, it was only $50 for a couples massage, but I feel now I should have realized what I was going to get for $50! Booking the appointment wasn't that bad, it was just a two turn game of phone tag which I can handle. I'm going to preface the following with: I'm a massage therapist, so I have a fairly high standard for massage and certain massage practices. When I booked the appointment, Renee (the owner, I'm assuming), informed me that there was an additional $30 fee to cover sales tax and gratuity. I let it go, because I had already bought the Groupon, but I did not like the fact that she added her gratuity into a "fee". I feel it's shady business practice and one that will not bring returning clients through the door, but I'll get to more on that in a minute, on to the massage! As for the massage, it was a very basic massage, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't necessarily good either. The office is located in the City Club building and it's a little hard to find unless you know downtown Cleveland well. The massage room was small and cramped, and it seemed like I was suffocating when I was face down on the massage table because there was a space heater fan blowing right in my face. There were no intake forms to fill out or liability waivers to sign, which I thought was odd. I've always had my clients do intake forms and sign a liability waiver. The waiting area was a eating area for everyone that shares the 10th floor in the building so I thought that was a little odd. I had Renee and my friend had Tanya from Tanya's Infinite Touch, I'm guessing they work together for the couples massages, they seem to share that tiny space, so I'm guessing that's how it work out. Renee worked out some my knots, but she did some joint work that I'm normally not a huge fan of. Joint work is hard to do correctly without injuring someone, so I'm very picky as to who I allow do it on me. She didn't ask me if I wanted specific areas done, she just kind of did her thing, which for the massage novice is fine, but for someone who not only does massage therapy for a living, but also has had a million massages in her lifetime, I would probably be more mindful to ask if there were any specific areas to work on. My friend thought that Tanya was too rough and had too long of nails to do massage properly. As a massage therapist, you should know that you shouldn't wear nail polish or have long nails. As we were leaving, I paid Renee the additional $30 that she stated covered sales tax and gratuity.. Charging the sales tax, I completely understand, however, I don't HAVE to give you gratuity. You have to understand in this business that gratuity is NOT required. It is always appreciated, but NEVER required. It really threw me off that they were requiring that I leave gratuity when I didn't have to leave anything. The funny thing is, I ALWAYS have tipped my massage therapist wherever I have gone, at least $20, sometimes more if the massage was amazing, but never less than $20 especially if I was using a Groupon. If Renee hadn't said that gratuity was required, I would have left $20 each for Renee and Tanya and paid the sales tax on top of that, but because they made me obligated to give them money I didn't have to give them, they got less. I or my friend will not be going back, I don't want to have to be demanded to give them more money. Oh, well, their loss.

I purchased a Groupon for $25 for a massage. When I called to schedule, Renee informed me that…read morethere is an additional $20 that I am required to give her on the day of my appointment. This was not mentioned in the Groupon deal. If the extra $20 is mandatory, she should have run the Groupon for $45 instead of $25. That's almost twice the amount I bought it for! Kinda seems like a scam, or at the very least terrible business practices. Ironically, I probably would have tipped more than $20 had it not been for her requiring it. On a positive note, Renee herself was very nice and conducted herself professionally for the most part. The massage was relaxing, although I've had better. I can't say I'll be returning in the future.

I'm honestly impressed by the "therapist's" commitment to avoiding my actual muscles; her ability to miss every spot I pointed out felt less like a mistake and more like a choreographed art form. It wasn't a foot massage--it was a thirty-minute awkward caress in a room that smelled like desperation and expired Pine-Sol. That is my kinda place, so this vibe works for me. Theres a receptionist, behind a school looking desk. That area was quite cluttered w/ a filled coat rack. Their staff is a mixture of employees & hairstylists who rent a space. I had a Groupon for Michelle Yonek, a renter. I was looking for a trim, with some layers for shape. I asked how much I needed off, she said 2-3 inches minimum . I said 2 inches. Let's just say its about FOUR inches...but, in the end, I do like my cut. Like a 8/10. She could of spent more time on the layers. Its rare to find a hairdresser that both listens & delivers & looks like they actually enjoy life. This woman has 20+ yrs of experience & owned her own salon for crying out loud. And hence why I havent had a haircut in 2 years. #noyolo So 8/10 haircut, would try other salons before I'd be a repeat customer, and $22 later-- still better than going to a Great Clips type place and me begging theres someone there whose not a bitch and actually smiles.

Friday night serenity, massages for two! The staff was welcoming, offering coffee tea or wine, my husband went with a glass of wine to get in the mood. We were ushered into the relaxation room, which was anything but relaxing, the space was overwhelming with mismatched themes, floral trees twinlking lights and bushes. But to each their own. Once the space was ready, our therapists came in ushered us down the hall. Serena and Kim introduced themselves, asked about preferences and washed no time getting us comfortable. We booked deep tissue massages, which were a little too aggressive for me, my husband loved it. On the way out, the receptionist asked about sakes, offering their monthly program, which my husband opted to join, a three month commitment before cancellation. We will be back, next time I think I'll go with a facial.

Pro Tip: Try bamboo massage…read more Just Okay - Not Quite the Serenity I Was Hoping For. I visited A Serenity Now (holistic salon) on Sunday evening booking first time client special via Vagaro. I booked 50 minute massage and bamboo add-on. The atmosphere was nice-- simple building, calm music, lots of bird motifs in the lobby (and bird chirping in their large field in the back), clean environment--but the overall experience felt a bit underwhelming. The salon is located inside an office building (with law offices). Parking is available onsite. The salon is another door right by the entrance. There is no receptionist, but your massage therapist will greet you. The massage therapist was polite, though not particularly genuine. The lobby had a small boutique with various products (mostly CBD). The massage room and table were very humble. I did not particularly feel comfortable as a plus size person. The good news is that massage room had two tables probably for couples services. The amenities were minimal--no complimentary drinks (even water offered) or extras that many spas offer to enhance the experience. My massage was good - pressure and the warmth of bamboo. It lacked the personalized touch I've come to expect from similar spas. For instance, when the time ran out and there were non-massaged areas, the massage therapist just stopped the massage. There was no invitation to come back and book another service. Although I received blog link the next day. Massage menu has great specials starting from $40 for 25 minute massage to $110 for 40 minute massage. There are also add-one available including hot bamboo, deep pressure, facial oils, CBD, and Thai flex. There is also elderberry facial which seem very fun and novel. My bill included "$3" local service fee (no idea what that means) which took away from Vagaro discount (overall I saved like $7). It wasn't a bad visit, but it wasn't memorable either. If you're nearby and in need of a quick treatment, it might do the trick. Just don't expect to be wowed.
