I got the chow mein and was sent chop suey. When a dish says "chow mein" I assumed I'd be getting the noodles. The yum yum sauce was watery and inedible. The cream cheese wontons however were delicious! I also got the fried rice which was meh and the sesame balls which I actually really enjoyed. Service was fast and friendly. The space was simply decorated and clean. I ordered the Maki special where I got to choose three sushi rolls. The sushi was fresh and delicious. I'd love to come back and try their other lunch specials but I'm not in Duluth often. read more

Food was overpriced, I travel around the world to try out food and this is one is almost the worst Asian food I ever had. I did a walk in order and didn't have much of a large order but it took 1:25 minute just to get my thumb size chicken, lowman, frie rice, was just bland, only sweet and soy sauce, where's the spice? Asian Kitchen (Duluth, MN) is as good as any Chinese food I have had in Duluth in 34 years. My only complaint is that the fried chicken wings only contain wingettes, the two-bone portion of the wing and they are $11.95. They could throw in a few drumettets. read more

Tried the Asian Kitchen for the first time. Food was mostly very good. I fad lunch special General Tsos chicken with fried rice, egg roll and cream cheese wonton. The General Tsos was very good. Not as heavy or sickly sweet as some places. The eggrool was smaller, but actually a good size and very good. The cream cheese wonton was good. Nice red dipping sauce. The fried rice was only thing food wise needing some improvement. It was soggy, old, greasy tasting. Did no taste freshly made. If it was made fresh, it may be grill cleaning issue. The main reason for the 3 star rating was fair to poor communication style and lack of attention from wait staff. No greeting when you walk in. Guy at register right near door, did not even look at me or greet me. He was processing something at the register, but never looked up. As I stood there for a few minutes another staff seated me, but then I sat for several minutes with no one asking for drink order, or to take food order. Ten minutes before any contact. When I did order food came out fast, so no issues there. I ran out of water, my only drink. No one checked back at all at any time during my meal, had to get their attention for the water. There were 4 tables with guests including my own with just me. They were not busy. 2 wait staff for 4 tables is pretty amazing ratio, should have had time to check in with everyone several times. The only interaction during the meal was the "have a good day" when one of the staff set down the bill on the table. So, first experience. Except for fried rice, the food was very good. Acceptable prices. Unfortunately they did not even try to be friendly or attentive from the moment I walked in. Will give them a try in future see if customer experience part of the meal improves or not. read more

I usually order from China Cafe but wanted to try something new so I decided to try Asian Kitchen. First I had the gyoza (potstickers), eggroll and cheese wontons. All were quite good. The dipping sauce for the gyoza was really nice. The portions were good. I also ordered shrimp egg foo young and the lunch combo Beef in Garlic Sauce which came with fried rice and the egg roll. I really didn't find much flavor in those three so I ate very little of it. I was also pretty full from the apps. However, I came back to it the next day and two days after that and everything was really DELICIOUS! Like many things, Chinese food is always better the next day or two in my opinion. All of the flavors have a chance to come out and meld. Everything tasted so much better!! Delish actually. The Beef in Garlic Sauce even had a little bit heat to it which I really liked. Everything was so much better, even the fried rice. My only suggestion would be to perk up the gravy for the egg foo young a bit. Maybe some garlic? But that's pretty typical everywhere for egg foo young. Also add hot mustard packets for those of us who like it. I requested no broccoli in the beef but it was in there. Not too much so I actually ate it. I ordered through DoorDash and everything came sizzling hot. I would order from here again. Probably a day or more before I want to eat it, LOL. read more

A go-to place for us now. We often order both Chinese and Japanese dishes. The parking is great for dine in or take out. We do both.

We've been hoping to find decent sushi since moving here. Besides the actual restaurant being a complete dive (dark, smelled like weed/old building smell) we couldn't finish the sushi after eating one of each. Being used to eating good sushi in big cities this was throughly a waste of money. None of it looked fresh and it all tasted fishy if it had any flavor. Having had food poisoning before we felt it wasn't worth the risk of finishing bad looking/tasting sushi. $50 thrown out. read more

Small staff, service was quick and efficient. Good place for a quick meal when in the neighborhood. This place is so good! We loved our dinner, and the really nice staff. Whitefish tempura, gyoza, smoked salmon roll, and really excellent chicken and shrimp. The sauces were all delicious, and not heavily thickened with corn starch. I can't wait for my next dinner here, in a few days. VERY happy to have this in our neighborhood! read more
