Good spot! Was very pleasantly surprised!!! Nice and clean restaurant. Seemed like a local place, busy at dinner time with a lot of to go's especially. Service was very friendly, and attentive. Food was good!!! Egg drop soup and steamed gyoza to start. Delicious. We also tried the egg foo young, General Tso's chicken, and the chicken hibachi. All were great! Everyone raved about the food here so we finally ordered take out. I ordered garlic shrimp lunch special with wonton soup. Additionally I ordered raw tuna sushi roll and a shrimp egg roll. The lunch portion is ok. Other places have comparable prices with larger portions. Their rice has no sticky factor. The wonton soup is a half portion in comparison to the usual 1/2 quart. It's mostly broth, don't be so cheap. Their downfall is the sushi. As soon as I opened it the smell overcame me. The coloring of the seaweed is odd but the smell was just too much. I closed it right back up but it is already burned into my sinuses. I hate that I just wasted money on it. Publix sushi is golden in comparison. Tiny little nothing rolls - not going to risk poisoning to attempt a taste. The shrimp egg roll is light and flakey. But as I got a few bites in the overwhelming smell of bad seafood came at my senses again. Overall, I would pass on eating here again. Service was ok. They mainly do takeout business. On a side note, my coworker ordered sesame chicken. It has no sesame on it. So, it's just chicken. She also ordered crab Rangoon but they are just folded in half. Our waitresses were very friendly, visited us often and had e never had to ask for a refill. If you haven't given Asian Garden a try, I highly recommend you put this on your, " must try" list. Asian Garden is a brand new restaurant located in Hudson, Fl. I went there for the first time this afternoon to have lunch with some other ladies. The food was fabulous! First time and not sure I'll go again for a while. I enjoy trying places and honestly I give most at least two chances, because every place has an off day of some sort. When we went was definitely a major off day for this place. We sat and waited for a long time before finally getting someone to bring menus, not that the place was busy. Only one other booth had two people. We were looking forward to a sit down to some Asian cuisine, instead of take out. What we got was typical fast food take out and it wasn't even good take out. The egg rolls were small, slightly burned on one side. The Fried rice was soggy and I couldn't locate but three peas, a sliver of a carrot and I never did see anything yellow resembling an egg while picking at the rice. I ate two bites and left it. The egg drop soup was okay, but the serving size was smaller than the usual size you'd expect. I ordered sesame chicken and it had two seeds of sesame, must be a shortage on sesame, and I did not enjoy the flavor and the chicken was dry and chewy. We also had a California roll and it also was small and flavor was fair. Honesty Publix makes better ones. The chicken Low Mein had a few pieces of the same dry chewy chicken covered in a salty brown sauce and the noodles were overcooked. Really not a good day for this place. The restaurant was in need of a cleaning, especially the bathroom. The waitress never checked if we liked our food and just brought the bill. No question why we had so much food still or if we wanted to go boxes. We left the food, not good enough to take home, disappointed. We didn't take pictures because food was not to par. Now I understand why the parking lot is mostly empty. So I'll give it a two star only because we did enjoy the gyoza and I like to give second chances. I'm not sure how this place got such high reviews. Probably because the Chinese restaurants in the area are so terrible. I had the moo goo gai pan, which was good. I had the wonton soup, but I didn't like it at all. The wontons were stuffed with some kind of a meat that I couldn't identify. The broth was from bullion. Definitely better than the average Chinese restaurants in the area, but still not great. read more
