My review is long overdue, as I was settling with my father's estate. I need to first state that I never write reviews; I felt Asian Funeral Services deserves a review.
I cannot express what a good decision it was to go with Asian Funeral Services. The level of service, attention, and respect that Greg gave our family is top notch. This is by far, the best decision you will make when considering your funeral service needs, especially if you need to send your loved one to Asia.
When my father passed away suddenly, we had to quickly find a funeral home that could attend to all of our needs, including a church service in Milwaukee and fly my father's body to Vietnam. We called several funeral homes, and Asian Funeral Services came as a recommendation from St. Henry's Catholic Church in Vietnam. When I contacted Greg, he came up to Milwaukee the next day realizing how time was the essence. He sat down with my mom, explained the entire process, listened, and was very patient with her, respecting that she was in mourning. This greatly eased our mines that we made the right choice. My mom picked a casket from a wide selection available, and she was thoroughly proud of her choice. All throughout the process, Greg informed us of every little detail and made sure we were informed of each step in the timeline. He took care of everything and every detail. This is extremely important as my family and I were in mourning; any additional work on us would make the entire process stressful. We greatly appreciate how much Greg took care of everything.
The funeral service here in Milwaukee was perfect and flawless. Greg showed up early, explained each step of how the casket would be brought in, how the services and visitation would be performed, and was very patient with us. He also explained in great detail how we were to handle the casket and my father's body when arrived in Vietnam.
The experience that Greg has with international funeral services was evident. He is knowledgeable with this process, which made granting the release and transport of my father's body into Vietnam through Vietnamese Embassy, effortless and with no hiccups. It was so perfect that when my father's body went through Vietnam Customs, with the paperwork and the funeral services in Vietnam being spot on, his body was released in 15 minutes. In Vietnam, this was unheard of. I've heard horror stories of bodies being held up for several days/weeks, even a month. My relatives in Vietnam were very impressed.
My father's body and face were well preserved and representative of his great character. Because Asian Funeral Services did a great job with embalming, there was no need for further preservation in Vietnam, which again, is unheard of for the folks in Vietnam. It was so well preserved that even after 100 days of burial, where tradition requires the tombstone to be constructed, there were no bad odors of decay. Again, unheard of in Vietnam. The tombstone workers complimented profusely of how much there were no atrocious, unbearable odors.
After our family came back to the USA, Greg called me to see how our family was doing. Again, another sign of the care and thoroughness that Greg shows.
Overall, I cannot express how much Asian Funeral Services was the best choice we made. You cannot go wrong. read more
