Jessica guided me through the design and deciding process ( supportive even when I became a bit too anxious). How can I explain how the project manager Adam kept to a schedule, instilled a friendly and positive work environment for all the skilled carpenters and speciality journeymen that worked during the renovations. Adam listened to concerns; saw issues that we never would have noticed. The cabinet installer and his wife were experts in their field of instillation. Now to the tile layer for the floor and back splash. My backsplash was a very complicated shape - the matching and installing was done to perfection - I could say beyond perfect. Hats off to Robert the electrician and his friendly crew who had to climb up in the roof , deal with the wiring from 60 years ago and still got excited when hanging lights that came from Sweden and Denmark. Oh I can't forget Lena for working on the design of the kitchen and had to deal with me - who had some very specific requests. I need to add one more important item - we had our vents cleaned this week. The vent cleaner come to us at the end and said - whoever did your renovation - they were the cleanest company we have ever cleaned vents after a renovation. Yes they cleaned everyday after working. Yes I would recommend Ultimate Renovations whole heartily. DianneVanderwell

They are a terrible builder please do not ever buy a home from this builder you will be so sorry you did. I purchased a new home from Vanity Homes in NE Calgary and it is very low cheap quality. Everything looks nice in the show-home but when they build your house they use poor quality products. The builder made many mistakes during the construction of my new house. One day I went to their office in Calgary to complain about all the problems with my new house and I saw a guy sitting on the sofa in the receptionist area hold his head and crying. He was saying Vanity Homes toke advantage of him and his family. He said they toke his money and then built a very low quality house with many mistakes. I have actually talked with many people that have similar stories about problems with this builder. I am going to take full action and I encourage everyone else to do the same until this builder starts to take responsibility and fix their mistakes. Please take my advice do not buy from Vanity Homes in Calgary or Airdrie or anywhere they are trying to build houses. They will take your money, waste your time, and not respond back to any of your messages or complaints.

Renovate Basement to Basement Suite In the fall of 2016,…read moreafter looking at several other Contractors, my wife and I contracted with We Build to do a complete renovation of our basement in our 60's bungalow and turn it into a legal suite. We had previous experience working with Contractors when we renovated the main floor of our bungalow several years ago. It wasn't a pleasant experience (after it was done I swore that we would never do a reno again but time heals) and so we were much more careful with whom we chose this time. With our input, We Build did the design of our basement and provided drawings. It was a very well thought out design that took advantage of the latest technologies available to make the maximum use of space. The We Build estimate was within the range of the other estimates we were given. They got all of the required permits. The project included: - demolishing the existing basement finish and taking it down to the concrete - cutting the concrete in the basement floor to accommodate installing a kitchen, bathroom and moving the city water feed to a new location for the utility room - leveling the concrete floor - install a subfloor - install all the required plumbing and electrical wiring including 2 new power panels and an additional power meter - install 2 new furnaces and hot water tank - build walls, insulate and sound proof - install doors and windows including cutting larger openings in the concrete walls - do all finishing, floor tiles, kitchen and bathroom tiles - painting - patching holes and fixing the parging on the basement walls We Build performed the whole job, end to end. We had one person, Jason, who coordinated all of the work (much of which he performed himself) and got all of the required inspections done. Every step was overseen by Jason and he kept us informed throughout the renovation. He dealt with any changes to the plan that we found that we wanted to make during the renovation with enthusiasm, always wanting us to be as happy as possible with the end product. He was very easy to work with and always available. He kept the worksite remarkably clean. He paid attention to detail and ensured that the work done was of the highest quality. Without exception, all of the tradesmen that came in to work with him were great. Everyone showed up when they were scheduled to and worked until the job was done. In addition to our basement we also had him install a new tub in our main floor bathroom including new tile and open up the space between our kitchen and living room by installing interior windows. We highly recommend Jason and We Build. We are pleased with the work done and how it was done and delighted with the end result. Everyone who sees the job that We Build did are very impressed and often ask who did it.

Our look is European Contemporary and I attended 2 home shows and visited several business before approaching 3, requesting a design and a quote. Bow Valley Kitchen was friendly, professional, and interested in my business. My initial contact was Frank, who is an owner of the company and after hearing what type of kitchen I was looking for, directed me to Bernie. He was extremely patient during the design process and designed the perfect kitchen for the space, keeping everything within my budget. Of course friends were curious as to our kitchen progress and when I told them of the design and price, their reaction was that Bow Valley Kitchens were high end and I should look around. One of my 3 preferred choices, 1 didn't even bother to draw up a design even after visiting my home and the other quote was within 1% of Bow Valley. My impression is that Bow Valley Kitchens do indeed do very high end kitchens if that is what the client wants but give equally good service to smaller more modest jobs such as mine. The final kudos and very important to potential customers came from the appliance installers. They were in awe, and their comment was that the cabinets were perfectly on spec for the appliances, which they pretty much never see. - Read more at: http://bowvalleykitchens.localcontractorreviews.net/kitchen/excellent-service-quality-andpprice/ 2012 http://localreviewengine.com/ & Bow Valley Kitchens

This is a review for the sister company Texture Craft Projects Corp, which does not have a presence…read moreon Yelp. The company is owned and operated by the same person. Our basement experienced some sewage backup during the June floods of 2013. Insurance covered the damage. As they were overwhelmed by claims, they'd engaged a third-party adjuster who sent Texture Craft our way - our insurance had never dealt with them before. We elected to extend the repairs to a complete basement remodeling. This was a nightmare. Texture Craft's project management was non-existent. I had to call the project manager for status updates in order to get something happening, and most of the time this took the form of a guy coming over with a few 2x4s to do a small amount of framing, whereupon he'd then leave, and we wouldn't see anything more for a week or so until I contacted them again. There were delays upon delays - there was only a small amount of framing to do, and 8 months in the framing was "done", and they sent us a bill - except the framing was not secured to the floor, was not square or straight, frequently had significant gaps, etc. I refused to pay the bill until these issues were fixed, and they told me that they were thinking of just ending the contract where it was. They did send out a carpenter to fix some tiny issues, but the major ones remained. I was doing the electrical work myself, and had to pull an electrical permit. The lady at City Hall noticed that no plumbing permits were pulled for the plumbing work they'd done, no building permit was taken out, and there was a gas permit taken out by the subcontractor who'd put in the fireplace six months ago - that was about to expire literally the next day. I called in the gas inspection, and the inspector promptly failed it because they had put the wood framing materials inside the no-combustibles region - if I'd used the fireplace, my house would have burned down. Meanwhile, the owner of the business kept claiming that no permits were required, and didn't pull any permits until I informed him that City Hall said otherwise. Then they suddenly pulled permits and sent their plumber in to make some fairly significant changes to the work they'd done. I terminated my relationship with them due to the deficient workmanship and informed them I'd pay their invoice less the costs to repair the work. Steve Korner immediately started threatening me and filed a lien on my house, as well as a lawsuit against me for the full amount of their invoice. Despite clear deficiencies in workmanship, he refused to accept that he shouldn't be owed less than the full invoice amount, plus their project management fee. His behaviour was bullying throughout. At one point I had to serve him with some papers. Their registered business address is invalid - they are not there. Since they are a corporation, that left me with having to serve a director of the corporation at his residence. Steve Korner was irate that I had dared to come to his residence to serve him and assaulted me. Do not do business with these people if you value your home, your safety and your sanity.

Calgary Bathrooms Shoddy Workmanship - A Calgary Renovation Remodelling Nightmare…read more Buyer Beware! I had a terrible experience with this Calgary bathroom renovation company! Pete Palffy from www.Calgarybathrooms.ca or Calgary Fun and Function Renovations Calgary remodelling did some work at my house in 2009, including renovating bathrooms and installing new doors (interior and exterior) . Some of the workmanship was faulty and shoddy and I have been fighting him tooth and nail to get him to do anything to fix it but he refuses to even look at the work! If you are searching for a Calgary bathroom renovation company to do some work for you -keep looking! Beware of the battle if you hire Calgary Fun and Function Renovations to work in your home. Poor workmanship, shoddy workmanship, no customer service, no warranty is what you'll get. He was careless in protecting our homes existing surfaces getting paint on our hardwood floors, our daughter's new bedroom furniture, and built in shelving, and he put very large scratches in our banister. He said he would fix these things - never did. He is unable to manage large jobs. Lots of yes, yes, it will get done, but then you come home everyday and wonder what work was done that day. No accountability. Beware if you are paying for the materials - that's one of the tricks played at Calgary Fun and Function Bathroom Renovations - Pete Palffy says its to save you money, but really its because he will throw it back in your face later saying "the materials are defective" and not honour any warranty for you. But he won't tell you there is anything wrong with the materials before they are installed (because there isn't anything wrong with the materials - its just one of his tricks). Watch out for this Calgary bathroom renovation company - at Calgary Fun and Function bathroom renovations. His claims of warranties and customer service on his website www.calgarybathrooms.ca are completely false - 10 months after job completion I am still fighting with him to come back to my house to view his shoddy workmanship.
