Poor experience with ASI tech today KitchenAid dishwasher under Original 1st year warranty issue:: Tech ran a diagnostic troubleshoot, and cleared 1 error code . Tech did not explain what code he cleared And got a lot of smart ass feedback . 1. Kitchen sink side counter should not be wet . 2 Maybe water is dripping in , and that is not going to be covered in warranty 3 Since we have a water softener Use 1/4 of the soap tablet ! 4 If not , we will have soap film on plates 5 Front metal front shows water spots indicating possible seepage . I asked him to show me any seepage 6 Tech found a code , cleared it and stated He would not charge me $149 this time , however next time he will not be able to waive due to not finding a cause of random shut down. Everything, service provider first came June 6, said he needed parts, returned 10 days later with a part that lasted two days. Returned and basically looked clueless at the refrigerator until I suggested something may be freezing up. Left to call Whirlpool and called to say he needed more/different parts. Still have not arrived 10 days later, say they are awaiting shipment (in this age of one day delivery). Really hopeless and Whirlpool the manufacturer takes no responsibility for who represents them. I have to agree with the other reviewers on the refrigerator warranty repair. I bought a brand new Maytag unit. If failed in 4 months. It was under manufacturer's warranty, so ASI was sent to fix it. The technician, who could have been Demarcus, but I don't remember his name, came unprepared. Prior to the visit, they were provided the make, model and problem. Any company I've hired in the past would have stocked any parts they may have needed on the truck. Not ASI. He said the 4 month-old compressor was bad and had to order the part. I waited 2 more days. My eat-out bills had broken my bank by the time he returned. He installed the compressor and left us a refrigerator that cooled but was not drawing water to dispense or make ice. It's been two weeks since the compressor went out and I have a brand new Maytag that still doesn't work properly. ASI left it that way. read more

Never ever ever use this company. Our stove had a gas smell that was emitting from it. The first time the technician comes out, doesnt have the right equipment to measure the levels. The one tool he does have needs batteries which i give to him. But still, that didnt work so he does a bubble a test and detects a leak in the hose. We have our home builders come out and they replace the hose and some other components. Yet every time we turn on the oven or the stove, we smell gas. So ASI comes back out and once again does not bring the right equipment. He tells me to call the gas company so that can get accurate readings and he leaves. The gas company comes out and detects high levels of carbon monoxide and red tags our stove. So ASI comes out a third time. They tell us the gas company is wrong and leaves without doing anything. The technician changed out our perfectly good control panel for a new mismatched one which is covered by Whirlpool for free and was trying to charge hundreds more to trouble shoot and repair. The communication at this company is a joke! If I could've given zero stars, I would've.... ASI made me miss three days of work for their mess up. No one can come out, no one offered to accommodate me for their mess up.!! I tried to speak to the manager, Alan, who was worthless. His dispatch Team whatever ladies answer the phone absolutely need training on communication and scheduling. Not one Person took accountability in this company for their mistakes. 2 missed appointments, and now I have my husband at home waiting for them to come today for the 3rd time for ASI ,Ladies and Alan to say the appointment is tomorrow !!!! Alan the manager said he will pull the recordings to see if I was telling the truth about the appointment for today. My response was OK and when it proves that it's today who is coming out? His response is no one the earliest is tomorrow. Alan proceeds to laugh at me like I'm a joke and for me to get over it basically because it was absolutely nothing he could do. Scheduled for last Thurs for The afternoon, They came out in the morning with no phone call. Alan's response it wasn't their fault it was Whirlpool's fault. Scheduled for Friday they stated someone would call me when they were there. Received a call from ASI stating someone is at my door. I explained I didn't receive a call with a three hour window like you said no one is home. She rescheduled it for today the 13th. The repair company texted, emailed and called me to say, since the oven was 10 years old the parts may not be available and they required the service fee to be paid up front. The oven stopped working after using the cleaning function on the oven. Repair person arrived and said he couldn't move forward without the model and serial number. He opened the locked bottom oven and searched for the information. It wasn't there. Searched the top oven and found sticky residue on the door frame where the info used to be. He left after that. My frustration with my repair is the repairman wasn't ever interested in fixing my oven. Only one guy to fix a wall double oven? He wouldn't be able to remove the oven by himself. How many 30" inch wall ovens did Kitchen Aid make 10 years ago? Didn't even try to fix it. As far as I'm concerned they owe me $161. read more

Sarom the tech was great. The dispatch/office coordinator was TERRIBLE. My service window was a WHOLE DAY. Every other service provider can give a 3-4 hour window so people don't waste their time. Then I requested the morning, because my husband works at night, which was not honored. Then I requested an advance call when Sarom was on the way so I could put up my dogs so they wouldn't bark and wake my husband, but Sarom did not get this request. Horrible office customer service. We were scheduled for a repair on a brand new Kitchen Aid oven. They had to order the parts and scheduled the appointment weeks in advance. The day of the appointment, they cancelled. The reason they gave was that the technician with the part was out that day unexpectedly. They said no one else could go and get the part. The dispatch person really didn't seem to care about honoring appointments or about customer service. I would use anyone else but ASI. They get one star because that is as low as I am allowed to go. New fridge under warranty, they came and looked at, ordered part. So far so good, called Monday to confirm install Wednesday. They Called Tuesday to confirm agaim for Wednesday, at this point they advise we need to unplug fridge for 24hrs. We unplug at noon, they then call and tell us Wednesday won't work, it could still be frozen. At this point, we have taken off work, food in fridge is going bad, and they want to wait till Friday!! They admit they should have told us on monday, and they are sorry they wasted our time but will not show up on Wednesday unless we pay $162.35. Just in case it's frozen still. So, they screw up and want to charge me for their mistake, I'm not ok with this. Talk to a manager, he did not like that I called him a thief. He wants me to pay for their mistake and them not doing their job. If they wanted it thawed, they should tell you ahead of time. Not waste your time and groceries. read more

The service was terrible!!! Where should I start...??? First I was told I needed a new ice maker because my Whirlpool Side by Side refrigerator was not making ice. After installing a new ice maker and it still wouldn't make ice, I was told I needed a new door. A few weeks later the technician came back and asked me if I had the door. Keep in mind, no one ever told me the door would be delivered to me. I had not received the door, so not sure why he even came back. Then, the door came the next day, so of course I had to schedule the technician to come back out and of course that took about another week. Then, when they did come out to install the new door, they left the old door and the box the new one came in on the floor with water still in the old door dripping on the floor. Smh. I hope and pray my next service call is not as frustrating!!!! read more

I had a very frustrating experience with ASI Appliance. It took multiple attempts over several weeks--more than a month--just to get the original part and fix the issue. Less than a year later, the same appliance had problems again, and ASI had to come back. Even then, they scheduled an appointment and canceled it at the last minute because they didn't have all the necessary parts. To make matters worse, the technicians were not friendly or helpful, which made the whole process even more unpleasant. Between the repeated issues, poor attitude, and unprofessional service, I only continued with them because I had an extended warranty and was forced to use their service. I scheduled for a technician to come out between 8am and 12pm. I work from home and was on a virtual call when customer service called to verify I was home. (DUH IM HOME IF YOU GAVE ME A WINDOW!!!) I wasn't able to answer the phone because I was on call with my supervisor but Im able to unlock my front door with my app. This was about 8:58 am. The voicemail that was left stated for me to return their call in the next few minutes. I returned their call 4 minutes later only for customer service to state he had already left the area. If he was in the area, why didn't he come by and do his damn job?! Why TF wouldn't I be home? Dawn in customer service and the technician together are dumber than a box of rocks! They are CLEARLY not the sharpest crayon in the box. God HAD to have made them with spare parts. I can tell this is about to be a downhill process working with ASI. read more

Luis - I haven't had a sense of smell since contracting COVID five years ago, so I'm unaware of any odors. I'm also an avid plant lover, and some of my bulbs can have natural scents. During the service visit, the technician commented that my home "smelled," which I felt was unprofessional and unnecessary. In addition to that remark, his overall attitude throughout the visit was unpleasant and made me uncomfortable. From day one, my Whirlpool double oven had issues--specifically, the lights wouldn't turn off, and the oven itself wouldn't shut down, forcing me to cut power from the breaker due to fire hazard. Since the oven was under warranty, I contacted Whirlpool, who informed me that a technician from ASI would call to schedule a repair. It took three weeks for them to reach out. The first appointment was purely diagnostic, and no repairs were made. A month later, ASI claimed to have ordered parts and scheduled a second appointment. However, their response time to my status inquiries was slow, usually taking 1-2 weeks. The second appointment was set for over two months later, during which they replaced the control board, but the issue persisted. The technician then suggested rewiring the entire oven or replacing it altogether, as almost every part of the oven would need to be replaced. However, Whirlpool had no record of this recommendation, so no action was taken. Nearly three months later, the issue remains unresolved. Despite my requests, ASI refused to expedite the parts. Throughout this process, I've been continuously shuffled between the two companies with no resolution in sight. As of today, the problem is still unresolved. If you have the option to hire a different contractor, I strongly suggest you consider it. read more

After contacting Maytag regarding service on our 6 mo old Commercial grade washer, used at my home, James came out from ASI Appliance to diagnose the issue. Tub shakes HORRIBLY when in spin. James would only check it with an empty tub, would not ALLOW me to add clothes for even a quick 20 min wash, only to say this is user error, you are overloading your machine! You can only put 3 pairs of jeans in your washer! And left. He was extremely rude, unprofessional and went out of his way to be demeaning! Wow! After 6 weeks of dealing with Select Home Warranty and ASI, my machine is not fixed and I would RUN from BOTH companies! Such a scam and poor way to do business! read more

This is the company you want if you like your repair turning into an 8+ week out of service black hole. They schedule two weeks out. You may get lucky and get something sooner. Even when service is required on a known/likely issue they will not show up with any parts. Just an initial assessment on the first visit. Their parts order process is a bureaucrats dream! They won't order parts for days after the visit. Then, they somehow manage to take weeks to receive the part when numerous web sites in the same UPS next day shipping zone show the parts readily available for order. They won't schedule the follow up visit until the part is received. So, after waiting 2 weeks for initial visit, 4 weeks for parts, then wait 2 more weeks for them to show up again to *try* to fix the part. If it doesn't work, bad on you, back to step 2 and wait another 4 to 6 weeks. Why should they be put out trying to make it right. Try to contact someone to accelerate the process and you are effectively told that it is their policy, stop being a nuisance and leave us alone. We'll call you don't call us. If you have any choice, choose the other service provider. Even if you don't know it now, you will be better off by a mile. read more

Called KitchenAid warranty department back and they told us that wasn't true, as this was a new issue. The nice repair man that they sent to my home did not know what to look for in regards to my kitchenaid oven not working. He ordered one part and that didn't work, then he ordered another part and that did not work.When I suggested that maybe we call Whirlpool's tech line, he did. Within 5 minutes the technician for Whirlpool said I had a broken wire. I had already paid $475.25 and then they wanted another $275 for the broken wire. The broken wire should have been the first thing the repair man checked for. I have asked twice to speak to the manager for the last two weeks and to no avail. This is not the way to conduct business. They should make this right if this was a reputable company. I initially contacted ASI Appliance for a warranty repair on my Whirlpool washer. A technician came out and identified the issue, stating that a part needed to be replaced. However, instead of ordering the part right away, he falsely assured my wife that he would return the same day to complete the repair. That never happened. After a week of no updates, I had to follow up myself, only to find out that the technician had just placed the order that day--contradicting everything he previously told us. To make matters worse, he falsely documented in their system that there were no issues with the washer, causing unnecessary delays. The customer service experience was even worse. When I called to get an update, the representatives were rude and dismissive, and one even hung up on me when I tried to explain my concerns. The service manager, Alan, offered no real solution other than saying he would "talk to the technician." No effort was made to correct the situation or expedite the repair. A week ago, I sent an email directly to the owner of ASI Appliance, hoping for a resolution. I have yet to receive any response. Instead, all I received was a generic notification saying the part is still pending before they can schedule the repair. This lack of response shows **exactly how much ASI Appliance cares about Whirlpool customers--**they simply don't. I'm posting this review to warn others about the type of business this is. If you are dealing with ASI Appliance for any warranty work, be prepared for delays, poor service, and a total lack of accountability. If this is how they treat customers covered by Whirlpool warranties, I can only imagine how bad it must be for those paying out of pocket. Hello ASI, I had a service call this past Friday, Feb 16th with Osiel Yanez. He did checked my washer & dishwasher....all was well. My dishwasher needed to be adjusted by the builder and I called Mauricio - DR Horton out to adjust. As soon as Mauricio arrived to my home Osiel Yanez began to speak in Spanish. How RUDE!! I stopped him and told him that this was my home and how dare he talk in Spanish in front of me about my dishwasher issue. He looked at me and began talking in English. That was VERY RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL and UGLY for him to do that when the whole entire time he was at my home he spoke in English. As a Company, that is very UNPROFESSIONAL and I question is that how you run your business! The technician seemed very uninterested in rectifying my issue. He pushed a few buttons, said there wasn't any error code, and that it seemed fine. However he agreed that the clothing and air in the dryer smelled like something was burnt/burning. I asked him to check the dryer to ensure nothing was stuck or causing the smell and he said "I'm not taking the dryer apart". I explained that I am not able to use the dryer due to the overpowering smell of something burning and that I wanted to make sure nothing was stuck. He repeated that he was not going to take the dryer apart. I then asked him what I was paying him for if all he was going to do was press a few buttons. He then asked if I was paying and asked me for the receipt. I was shocked by his request and said I didn't have a receipt because I wasn't invoiced for the service yet. Incompetent!! Whirlpool Dryer was in warranty and they could not fix it -EVEN after a couple of weeks! Had to go to another vendor and paid for the repair myself despite the dryer being only a couple of months old AND IN WARRANTY. Whirlpool only has ASI as the only repair place in ALL of the Houston area. So I will never use ASI or buy Whirlpool (I was a loyal customer) again!!! I wish I could rate ASI lower than 1 star. The fridge isn't cooling still. There is no ice even after 72 hours and the cooling is extremely low inside the fridge. First time also after repair I had same issue when Freon was not available with tech but now even when there was enough Freon it looks like something else is wrong now as the fridge isn't cooling as it should read more

A piece broke off of the upper rack of my KitchenAid dishwasher that is less than 5 years old. I read the warranty thoroughly, and determined that racks were one of the items covered under the 5-year warranty. So I went to the website of the store where I purchased the dishwasher and hunted for who to contact regarding a repair. I was ultimately directed to Whirlpool Factory Service, which is actually ASI Appliance in the Houston area. Scheduled an appointment online and waited the approximately two weeks it took for the technician to come (this was actually the first available appointment). In the meantime, I read some of the reviews of ASI Appliance here on Yelp and on Google. Wow. I was getting scared that I would regret not paying out of pocket to repair this. But, I was pleasantly surprised. I received several emails prior to the scheduled service date confirming when my appointment was. The day before, I received an email for me to respond and confirm they were scheduled to be at my home the next day. The next morning (day of the repair), I received a phone call to inform me of the 90-minute window that they would be here. And sure enough, they came within that 90-minute time period. Fast, efficient and fixed in about 20 minutes. Since I had accurately described the issue when I made the appointment, the tech actually brought the piece with her. A scan of the bar code on the interior of the dishwasher door confirmed it was under warranty, so no charge for the part. But, I did have to pay for "labor," which I'm assuming was the service call and skill to fix it: $135. Not too happy about that, but my dishwasher was now completely usable. One star deducted for the length of time between request for repair and availability of an appointment and the "labor" charge that was in excess of $100. That seems a bit steep to me.
