That means our providers take the time to listen to what's important to you before recommending next steps. In reality, they do not. They schedule only 15 min. per visit. IF the doctor actually spends that much time with you, I'd be Amazed. And I read each and every slip of paperwork this 15 Minute doctor writes down. I have so much mis-information In my medical file that it scares me. And I can't even find a Doctor that will spend the time with me to go over it and correct it. Unless I want to drive over 2 hrs., to see a primary doctor, I'm stuck with what are in my area. When Cleveland Clinic took over the healthcare facilities in my area, I thought finally, we'll have decent care. All we ended up being is a dumping ground for Cleveland Clinic's worse doctors. read more

My new doctor Kathleen shotz has refused to give me much needed meds. My.diabetic meds have been cut drasticly who does that to a diabetic? This is absolutely the worst hospital I have been in. I am here now at 2:30 am sitting in a chair next to a thing they call a bed. The staff seems nice but not very smart. I just want out of here as soon as possible. I thought I might have had a heart attack but now I'm sure it's something else. I have intermittent pain at the top left of my chest but my ekgs are fine. Hopefully I can go home tomorrow. The room is freezing and the blankets are just small thicker sheets. I am 6'5" and nothing covers me. It's 3:47 and I'm still awake in the chair trying to stay warm. When I wanted a blanket I pushed the help button. I waited about 15 minutes then went looking and found someone. They got them. At about 3:50 the nurse assistant came in for vitals. I complained and she brought me a bigger thicker blanket. She turned the ac on thinking it was the heating, then turned it off. "It's cold." She said. Okay it's now 5:16 and I put the bed back together to try to get some sleep ahead of my stress test in a few hours. The fitted sheet is too small for the prison like mattress. read more

My mother and her husband are both seniors and he has been in the hospital in Ashtabula. He fell at the hospital the other day and this nurse named Louis was very unprofessional and un-caring by saying "maybe if you were here he wouldn't have fallen". My Mom does visit him in the hospital daily. This was uncalled for. Being a part of the Cleveland Clinic I would expect a better level of service and client relations at this place. read more

I was there for preadmission testing on January 19, 2023. The facility itself is mediocre, and because of construction it is very difficult to find a parking space. I drove in circles for at least 15 minutes. I saw six different people during my visit. Each was pleasant and professional. If my rating was based on the staff only, I would have given five stars. I hope I get the same treatment when I am admitted for surgery next week. read more

just wanna say that this is BY FAR the worst hospital I have ever been to. the staff is far from professional. they're rude, you can't ask them anything. I now understand why people say "you will die at that hospital". they do not care how you are feeling or how much pain you are in. if you are seriously sick or need actual medical attention, I highly advise against going to this hospital. read more

They don't even deserve 1 star! I had heard horror stories of this place. Now I have my own personal horror story. My father was killed by this dreadful place! My dad was sent in for fluids on a Tuesday because his kidney levels were elevated. We had just left the doctor's of which he had said he had several years left. My dad had early onset dementia and was very hard of hearing. I was not allowed to even go in the ER with him. I had told him I loved him and would see him soon. When talking with my dad on the phone the next day he mentioned that they might send him to Cleveland. I called his nurse to tell her they needed to speak with my mother for any decisions of placement or procedures, she said that it was my dad's decision because he knew his name and his birth date...hello he's 85 years old. My dad's health records states dementia and my mother has medical power of attorney over him. A few days went by and he was getting more and more confused. I asked the nurse if they were giving him steroids because he gets very confused on them. It is noted as an allergy on his chart. She didn't answer. Friday I had spoken with the Kidney doctor who said he was doing great and would be home this weekend. I drove back Sunday morning to NC because I needed to get back to work. The doctors and nurse said he would be discharged on Sunday. My mom and family friend who is a nurse picked him up at 1:00. He had trouble breathing and the attendant said it was because of the cold weather. My dad was home for several hours and struggled to breathe. Doctors were called, 911 called and back to the hell hole he went again. He was put on oxygen and doing well. Again my mom of 67 years and my sister were not allowed to go up to the room. They put him on the Covid floor! He died that night alone. But we were all aloud to go to the Covid floor after his death. My dad's doctors and discharge nurse were all in disbelief. What the hell had happened?! How did my dad go to dressing himself to come home to hours later in acute respiratory failure?! Hours after his death his My Chart was disabled. I've heard nurses say "they walk in through the ER and leave in a body bag". This place is only concerned about money and should be shut down! read more

I sought treatment at ACMC and ACMC Clinic in 2019. The care and service I received were fine, but their billing department is terrible. After receiving the bill in November 2019, I immediately went online, made a payment and set up recurring monthly payments from my debit card. In December, I called to make sure the payment was scheduled to pull on a certain date, but was told by the rep that she didn't see me signed up for autopay. Okay...I went back on their website and signed up for autopay again. Next thing I know, payments were pulled on December 3rd and December 6th. I call ACMC and advise them of the issue, explain what happened, and told them I didn't need anything returned, I just needed to make sure only one payment was pulled each month. The rep took care of it and everything was great...for a few months. Fast forward to May 2020; my scheduled payment was taken on the 2nd, leaving a final balance of 10.33. I went online and made a one-time payment to pay off my account. On June 2nd a payment was taken, so I called the billing department and they apologize. I was told the money would be returned to my card in 3-5 business days...great...mistakes happen, no big deal. I called back on June 18th and got the same rep. I told her that I still had not received my refund. She was shocked and apologized. She then asked if her supervisor had called and spoke to me; when I said no, she was even more apologetic. After a long hold she came back and gave me some story about the hospital holding my funds while they make sure that I don't owe any additional money, which she said SHE didn't understand because she can clearly see all my accounts with the hospital and clinic show zero dollar balances. Now it is July 6th, 2020 and they pulled another payment. I called, was apologized to again, told a supervisor will call me, blah, blah, blah. I will never set foot in another facility or doctor's office again that has any affiliation with ACMC. read more

My daughter was in need of some medical Care nothing major but when we stopped into the ER only one parent was allowed with her understandable. What was not understandable was the way I was treated 2 hours have gone bye when I simply asked to speak with her mother which was back in the procedure room with her I was basically treated like a problem instead of a concerned father they blew me off and told me it shouldn't be much longer absolutely no other information was given despite the fact that I am this child's biological father and by the way yes we do live together I was treated very rudely as the nurse sat eating her big bag of snacks in a very unsanitary manner she acted as if I was disturbing a very important snack completely uncalled for next time I will be going to conneaut or Geneva but definitely not Ashtabula county medical center beware of this place read more

There is no care about people in this hospital. No i dont blame the nurses as they are taking orders from higher up. But like many who work there say, "walk in through the door to be carried out in a body bag". These patients are somebody's parent, spouse, child, aunt, uncle, grandparent, friend and all that is cared about by those running this disaster of a hospital is that money back from insurance or the patients out of pocket. Its sickening. Its a poor excuse for a hospital. They are more worried about removing their records once their dead than taking care of them when they are alive. My grandfather was a perfect example of many out there. He walks in because of poor kidney functions (not the first time, give him some fluids and walk back out) and walks out barely breathing. His oxygen was in the 80s!! (Has to be at 93 in order to leave) did not send him home with oxygen or any order set up. In just a few hours his oxygen was in the 60s! He went back to the hospital 5 hours of being released only because he needed oxygen to stay alive.. What did they give him while there to make him not breath? It'd be in his mychart right? Too bad that was taken down only hours after he passed. Why was there nobody there to check on him? Why was the family not allowed with him when it is documented that he has dementia? How does this hospital get away with such neglect???? read more

Worst hospital ever!! My daughter was really sick since Xmas eve. i thought it was a cold. But she didn't get better. So I called the online doc to ask him what I should do. He said to take her to the er, so I did. I get there check her in, they tried to put me in the same room where they told me my husband died at.[a year ago) I started crying and said please don't. They didn't care, her comes the security guard named Kevin. He was really rude. He tried to make me leave my 12 year old daughter. I said I'm not leaving her she is only 12. He said rudely oh well she doesn't look 12. I said really all her information is at the desk, u didn't look before u came back her to harass me Kevin. He was very rude and unprofessional. Then I finally get a room. The doc comes in being a a**, i tried to tell him what the doc said on the phone and he got rude and said I'm the doc now so your going to listen to me. they couldn't figure out what was wrong, so the transfer her to rainbows.(thank god) we get there she is in Dka on top of that she had COVID. The people who work at ACMC are caring, professional workers who go beyond the call of duty. For instance, today I needed to get an EKG for a sudden operation that was decided yesterday. I came directly from work to get it, but we arrived after the hours for the Cardiac service. However, Mark was finishing closing down, and when he saw my husband and me, he turned on the lights and did the EKG for me, and immediately sent it to my doctor, Dr. Chillcott. I really don't think you would find people at other hospitals who were leaving for the day who would perform services after their day was done. Also, Mark remembered my husband and me from before when my husband had tests done there so we were just a number. Additionally, he could have been crabby, but he wasn't. He was kind and friendly to us---what the English might say was quite chipper. This young man was splendid example of the people who work for ACMC. read more
