I am a Veteran and a repeat customer of Ashley Furniture, and what happened at the Victoria, TX location on 12/14/2025 was so unprofessional and unnecessary that I feel obligated to warn others, and especially fellow Veterans. On 12/8/2025 during their Veterans Day week sale, I purchased a couch and loveseat. During the sale, the staff strongly pushed a 4-year extended warranty, saying that if I never used it, I would get the amount back as store credit after four years. I decided to go ahead and purchase it. Four days after delivery, on 12/12/2025, I realized I wouldn't be keeping the furniture long-term. So, on 12/14/2025, I went back to the store with a simple request: Refund the $150 extended warranty only. No claims were made. The furniture was not being returned. There was no wording anywhere in the paperwork stating the warranty was non-refundable, It was for product. Where things went wrong and very quickly, was when I spoke with the manager Angela both on the phone and in person. From the start, she was cold, dismissive, and uninterested in helping. She immediately told me the warranty could not be refunded, even though there was nothing in writing to support that. I told her I understood the furniture return policy, but I was not returning the furniture, only the unused warranty. She refused anyway. When I pointed out that I was a returning customer, and a Veteran who was simply asking for a reasonable refund, she shrugged and smiled as if it didn't matter. This discussion was done in front of her employees, which made the situation more uncomfortable and embarrassing. I asked for her supervisor's name and contact information. She gave me his name but refused to give the phone number, saying he had a "corporate phone" and wouldn't answer an unknown call. That alone raised red flags. I then called the Corpus Christi office and spoke with the receptionist Tabatha, who was professional, kind, and helpful and she relayed the message to their regional manager. A few minutes later, Angela called me back acting differently and asked why I no longer wanted the couch. I explained why and that I would be purchasing another one soon, and she said If she had known that she would have offered me store credit of the warranty for future purchases. I repeated that store credit was not acceptable and that I simply wanted the warranty refunded and stated that she had been unprofessional and did it in front of her workers and I worried she would be this way to other veterans in the future. What changed her attitude, and it's important for owners to know this, is that I requested for her to correct the situation within the next two hours or, I would take the matter to small claims court. I made it clear that her employees, who witnessed the entire interaction, would likely be called to testify and that she would have to explain her behavior, the lack of a written policy, and her refusal to provide her supervisors contact information to a judge. She made me aware that Ashley was a tight family and she had been working there for 18 years, I guess insinuating that the owners would support her conduct or actions and we ended that call. A few minutes later I received another phone call from her again and she told me that she would go against company policy and might get in trouble but she is going to request for me to get the refund and I could go by next week and pick up a check. After that, her regional manager finally call me and said he had already told her to refund or credit me for the warranty. This entire ordeal, the disrespect, the cold responses, the embarrassment in front of her employees, and her refusal to help, was completely unnecessary. Message to Owners and Veterans To the owners: I strongly believe you are not fully aware of how your manager is treating customers in your name. The way this situation was handled does not reflect the professionalism of your other locations. You lost trust that day, not because of policy, but because of attitude, behavior, and dismissiveness. To Veterans: Ashley Furniture will gladly say "thank you for your service" during promotions, but this store showed how quickly that gratitude can disappear once the sale is completed. Veterans deserve honesty, respect, and transparency, not pressure sales tactics or dismissive treatment when we ask valid questions. I have the funds to buy another set or more, that was never the issue. The issue is how easily someone else, especially a Veteran or any customer, could be disrespected or taken advantage of in the same situation. Was $150 of some warranty return worth the trouble and the loss of a customer, that is poor managerial performance. I bought a sofa / love seat set . After 5 months went by the cushions started to break down. I went to the store in Victoria to make a warranty claim . I ended up going there every month for 5 months after the last visit they would not honor the warranty after all these visits to get something done there answer was it's not covered under warranty due to normal wear and tear. We recently went to Ashley's to look at furniture. We were greeted by Esmaralda. We told her what we wanted, and within 30 min, we had chosen a sofa with a chaise lounge, an accent chair, and a dining room table with 6 chairs. Once Esmeralda had the purchase order drawn up and was going over everything, the last thing she mentioned was that it would take 4-6 weeks for the furniture to arrive. I asked why so long, and we were informed that it would be coming from up north the main warehouse. We were then approached by Angela. I'm gathering she's the manager who stated that Esmeralda I Is a fairly new as a salesperson and should have explained that from the beginning. I told Angela that 4-6 weeks is way to long to wait. She recommended that we think about it over night and that they would reach out to us the next day with a more definite delivery date and that she would wave the cancelation fee which is normally 30% of the purchase. So the next day I received a text from Angela who stated that the sofa, accent chair and 6 dining room chairs could be delivered in 2 weeks and the dining room table would be delivered on April 20th which was more than 6 weeks away. I informed her that this was unacceptable and that we would be by to cancel the sale in person. Later that day we went to Kamin's furniture chose the same style of furniture, paid for and it have it scheduled for delivery tomorrow afternoon the 13th all in about 45 minutes thanks to Angela (at Kamin furniture). I was pleased with Bobby our sales person. But beyond Bobby the custome service is terrible, if I could rate a zero I would have. The office manager ( who has caller ID ) recognized my number and did not answer the phone, this was after she placed me on hold for 8 minutes and never picked back up. I have been told our very large ottoman was due here on 5 different dates and it still has not arrive, the rest of our couch arrived but not the ottoman. Spoke to the store manager who was very nice, the OttOman was supposed to be in the store today but it did not arrive, was told it will be next week now, this makes 6 weeks. read more

They have a nice selection but very bad customer service I bought a set of couches cash and was promised delivery within 4-5 weeks. 1 month has gone by and now they're saying it's going to be another 6-7 weeks until they have my items. I called last week the salesman said he would get with management and get back to me that day . A week later still no call back! I called again today and ask to speak to a manager and was basically told the same thing they'll "look into it" and get back with me by the end of day. If I don't hear back from them today I will be asking for a full refund and take me business elsewhere. DO NOT SHOP HERE! I will never buy anything from this store again. Today, after several weeks of phone calls to the corporate office, I finally got ahold of someone who agreed to replace the broken chair in my month-old dinette set from this dubious place. That sentence alone should encourage you to go elsewhere for your furniture. I purchased a housefull of furniture from this place. To be fair (as I strive to be in any online review), I am updating my review. After my scathing Yelp review, I was immediately (and I mean immediately) contacted by the owner. Ben is courteous, professional, and kind. He followed up with everything he stated he was going to do very promptly. His apology felt sincere, and because of him I don't think I'd hesitate to shop at one of the Ashley stores he owns. Also, I originally stated they had an F on the BBB website, and while that is technically true, it is a mishap on the BBB's part since they have the wrong listing associated with this store. Their rating should be an A, and Ben is having that fixed. The sofa was finally delivered...yay! We love the sofa very much, and I must tell you all how well mannered the delivery men were. I've had my fair share of furniture delivered from Pottery Barn, Home Decorators Collection, Overstock, etc. and these Ashley employees were by far the most helpful and courteous. They even protected my door jam to avoid any damage, and that's something I've never seen done before. Ben definitely redeemed the experience, and I give him major kudos for making sure my husband and I are happy. We definitely are! Thanks, Ben! -------------------- Original Review: This place blows, here's why. On a Saturday afternoon, the hubby and I went into the Victoria, TX Ashley Furniture Homestore on a whim. We weren't really looking for anything, and we happened to fall in love with a sofa that was on sale and very, very nice (the Hariston sofa, FYI). Karen, our sales rep, is all smiles and does the whole schpiel, "This sofa will make all your dreams come true!!" You know, the kind of stuff they say to make a sale. Well, Karen had to leave, so she stuck us with Sales Person B, which was ok. After much debate, we decided to buy the sofa. And, of course, the sucker was out of stock until mid-May. Fine by us, we're not in a rush (at that time). We're told it would be delivered the week of May 19, and the date we bought it was April 18. No big deal. Then it all went down the toilet. On Monday, May 26 I call and talk to some clerk who could care less about my call- I could tell she was texting (you know that signature iPhone "swoosh" when you send a text--seriously people, put it on silent if you're texting at work). Clerk tells me sofa is out until mid-July (yes, July). I nearly lose my mind over the phone, y'all. Finally Karen gets on the phone and says, "Oh yes, I remember you, you're the couple I told to buy something else since that sofa was backordered." Um, no. We're the couple who only liked that ONE sofa and who YOU told it'd be in by mid-May. What a rude thing to say to a customer--why yes, tell me what you think I should buy, princess. She then went onto to explain that she could see it'd be in stock June 3, and that she'd have it delivered the very next day (June 4). Then she adds that she will call the Cuero warehouse to explain that this is urgent and they need to deliver it stat. She ended our conversation saying she'd call me back with more info once she spoke to the Cuero warehouse (this is all still on Monday, May 26). Karen does call back that afternoon and tells me the Cuero warehouse is closed and she'll call me back on Wednesday to update me. (Why not Tuesday, which is the next day? Hhmm...) And I haven't heard from her since. It is now June 3, and no one has called to schedule a delivery for June 4, I really dislike Karen, and I really, really dislike this Ashley location. read more

I purchased a bed frame and dresser from the Ashley store in Victoria, TX. The dresser was delivered broken. The store was notified the following day, less than 12 hours after it was delivered. Nothing has happened yet, and this delivery took place in November. They didn't put in a work order until the end of December! I haven't even used the dresser or moved it since it was delivered. When they finally scheduled somebody to come look at it in January, they never showed. I waited and received no notice of them not coming. We talked to the store again about just getting rid of it, since the protection plan is obviously not real. We were told there was a restocking charge of over $300. Four months later, and I'm still waiting to hear from a manager. So, the company sold me broken merchandise, never fixed it, and wants to charge me for not wanting it anymore. Ashley Furniture Store in Victoria, TX has the worse customer service I have ever had to deal with. I have waited for over a month for them to come repair my sofa and ottoman. When my parts finally came in I had to wait 2 1/2 weeks to get an appt for them to come and repair my furniture. I waited patiently. They were supposed to come from 7:30-8:00 AM (I took the day off from work) and no one ever came. I called customer service and they had changed my appt to 5:00-7:00 PM. I never received a phone call letting me know that my appt had been moved to a different time. Now I have to wait another 2 weeks and they refused to give me a time frame. This is not the first time I have dealt with their customer service. They are rude and unfriendly. They do not take responsibility for their messy work. To be fair I do love the furniture at Ashley and most of my house is furnished from Ashley. But again their customer service is absolutely the worse. I have dealt with them several times in the past and they make excuses for their actions and never take any responsibility for their poor service. read more

Right after purchasing, I asked where I needed to pick up the mattress. The sales person said they had to order it and that it should take no more that 2 weeks if that to come in. He also said that I'd have to pick up the mattress in Cuero lol; not that big a deal I guess. 6 weeks later the mattress finally came in. This mattress is horrible! It hurts my back and I'd rather sleep on the floor. Did I mention that there was a no return policy? They sure didn't. Now I'm stuck with this torture device that I can't return thanks to their policy. I'll never shop there ever again and will detour anyone I can from this place. Then a "supervisor" called who stated he doesn't know why we weren't notified of the furniture not being available although it was paid for. I'm not to happy with Ashley furniture. It's been two months since my bed was broken. They promised to call me back after three days. It took a week. Then they told me the parts is back ordered. I call them after a month. They still haven't order the parts. Last time, something was broke on the other bed it just took two weeks. I called them since the first week of April. Me and my husband first bought our furniture 5 months ago when we first got back from our honeymoon. We bought a 6 piece sectional, dinning room table and chairs, bed with drawers at the foot, a dresser and a matress. On the first delivery we was suppose to be first people on the list because of my work and they was late arriving at my house and then one piece of the sectional pieces and a dining room chair was broken and they took them back to be replaced two weeks later. The chair was new but the piece for the secional was their attempt to fix but failed becuase it was not straight. During the second delivery the guy kicked our 4 month old puppy in the head. When I went to use the drawers under the bed i noticed that it was broken because it would not close. When I called customer service the fix it they sent out a guy out was informed that the was going to order new rails which still did not fix it, so he had to order brand new drawers and told us that it would be sent right to our house for us to install ourselves. While he was there we showed him the scratches on our sectional, which was suppose to be top gran leather. The man stated that he would and add it to our ticket for the sectional to get fixed along with the power recliner not lifting our feet. Two months later I got a call from ashleys saying that the service guy that came out for our bed was hired and they was just now going through his phone. So we set up a time for the new guy to come out and I asked her but our sectional and was told that it was not on the ticket but the guy for the leather has been out for the last week because of his back (one week dose not matter when I asked for him 2 months ago), and to my surprise it was the same guy for our drawers that we had the first time. (Now that was funny to tell him that even though he didn't know it that he was hire). Finally the bed was fixed. The guy for sectional came out and reupholstered the two recliner with scratched leather and when it was pointed out he just said this is what I got. After he was finished one recliner had two much stuffing and the other was missing stuffing which made a hole when you sat in it. I talked to customer service again and was told that since we have had nothing but problems we would get new recliners for our sectional. Finally went to the store and talk to the owner Paige who was sorry for everything and said that she would fix it. The next day I got a call to schedule delivery, so it was scheduled for the next day, and suppose to be first on the list because of my work and was going to get a call 30 minutes before they arrived. The next day I never got a call and they was suppose to be at my house at 10am they did not arrive until 12:30pm with no call thankfully my husband was home. The new recliners they brought was worse the the ones I had and one of the arms was not allinged right. When my husband showed them everything they just said this is what we have and left. After I got off work we went back to the store to talk to Paige who was not there so we talked to the manager Stewart who just made excuses for the issues and did not offer an solution just that he would talk to Paige then call us the next day. The next day I got a call to schedule a pick up. Then my husband did not know because we was at work got a call from Stewart saying that they was going to come and pick up our sectional and refund us our money. we did get a call from Stewart saying that someone would be calling to schedule a pick up our the sectional. We went to the store during my lunch and talked to Stewart who said that was their solution because everything is coming broken and that we will get our money back and they are going to pick up the sectionak. So now I am having to buy new sectional. I do not recommend going to Ashleys for anything go somewhere and get treated right and get what you pay for 5 months of dealing with it is to long. Save your time, money and trouble and go somewhere else even if it is more expensive it will be worth it to not have to deal with anybody from ashleys. read more

By way of revision to my earlier, and highly negative, review, the issue has been partially resolved, full resolution pending. Still, the stark contrast in the attitude before and after money changes hands (or is it between the in-store and the rest of customer support?) leaves a seriously bad taste. Provisional 3 stars, we'll see where things go from here. Downgraded to two stars on Dec. 23, as the credit card refund allegedly issued on Dec. 18 has not been received in my account yet. Scratch that "partially resolved" statement. 3Jan2015 update: Partial refund received backdated to Dec. 18. OK, plus half a star Furniture was exchanged as promised and in acceptable condition. Plus a star 3 inch (+/-) panel gaps still remain. I can buy that those are there by (poor) design; what I can NOT buy is that they are by design different on two sides. Minus half a star Two boltheads stripped while assembly personnel was attempting to screw them into pre-threaded holes. Seriously. Even I can do better than that. Minus half a star for each bolt. Also, this store is privately owned so they do not have to answer to a real corporate office, they make their decisions about warranties in house. We purchased some furniture from your Victoria store for my grandson as a gift. The post on the foot board was broken so they had me take pictures and send them in. We also purchased the warranty for all the furniture that we purchased but they are telling me that the bed had to stay in runge. My grandson lives in san Antonio. They did not tell us that when we purchased the furniture. The young men that loaded our furniture told us that since we had the warranty we did not have to open every box and like fools we believed it. We always shop Victoria but know better from now on. I am now stuck with a broken bed that they refuse to replace, so people do not buy gifts from your Victoria store because you will be stuck with a bill and no furniture to show for it.... read more

Just bought Living Room, Dining Room and Bed Room sets....sales person was great working with us and making different suggestions until we found the perfect combinations! Delivery was great -the two young men delivering were polite, careful and great about moving items around as I directed. Decided to check this store out this past weekend after living in the area for 8 years and never having visited. Unfortunately, it was not what I had expected. The furniture was beautiful, don't get me wrong, but the vibe I got from the store as a whole is what I had the problem with. I ended up having a really helpful gentleman salesperson who was ready to go above and beyond to assist me. Not to mention, the store was pretty busy, and he was still able to give me his undivided attention. The main problem I had was with the lady he was speaking back and forth to, which I'm only left to assume she was the manager, or a manager of some sorts. I overheard the way she was speaking to him in a manner as if he were a child, practically insulting his intelligence, and loud enough where I'm sure many people around could hear. I felt so sorry for this poor kid, and I was close enough to hear her talking on the radio to some of the other employees as well, and just as disdainful as ever. This was when I heard her tell one of the other sales gentleman that had asked for help with pricing that she couldn't help him, "because she wasn't getting any commission off of that "... Honestly I was not intending on buying anything and was just looking, but after I heard how they talk to their employees I don't reckon I will be visiting here anymore.
