Ashley Furniture Store in Shallotte, NC is awesome!! From my girl Heather, to the delivery personnel and quality of the products we purchased everything was wonderful. However - if you have to deal with their Customer Care service you will be extremely disappointed. Rude personnel, slow service and ignorance of their policies made me think I had spent my money with the wrong company. Hopefully they can get their stuff together so it does not impact future sales! I had furniture delivered 3/5/2025 The delivery guys forgot to load a couch on their truck but the lead guy brought the couch after hours in his own truck. I am very surprised that Lori Bradley has not followed up from the Shallotte store. I have issues that need to be discussed and unfinished business with her as the manager of that store. Ashley furniture store in Shallotte is an exceptionally well-kept and clean furniture store with very friendly staff. I have shopped at the store for years and always get what I feel is a fair deal unlike add some other furniture stores in Wilmington. During my last trip, I worked with a salesperson named Loy who took the time to explain features and options with each piece of furniture that we had questions with. The front desk staff (Heather) was also kind and helpful with any questions I had regarding Warranty etc. Heather exemplifies what good customer-focused service should look like. I highly recommend using the store for any of your furniture needs. My only complaint is that it will take 2 months or so to get my furniture. I will not reduce this store's star rating however, for the company I would only give 4 stars due to this issue. As a side note, unlike my nightmare dealings with warranties at Rooms to Go which is the reason that I refuse to shop there anymore. When I did have an issue with two pieces of Ashley furniture a few years ago they honored their warranty without any questions or hassle. This is one of the reasons Ashley is the only furniture store I actually trust and the only location I actually trust is the Shallotte location. read more

My husband and I went to Ashley Furniture in Shallotte looking for a bedroom set. It was such a pleasant experience. Kristine, our salesperson, was excellent. We gave her an idea of what we wanted and she gave us a few suggestions. She told us to take our time and visit each set and she would come back to check on us. We didn't feel any pressure while we were there, unlike other stores where the salesperson follows you around. She was very knowledgeable about the pieces and the quality of the furniture. When we decided on which set we wanted, she wrote up the paperwork. Everything went very smoothly. We will definitely be back to see Kristine when we are in need of more furniture. We moved here 18 months ago and have purchased almost all our new furniture from this store. We ordered a media wall unit that cost around 2,000.00 that arrived with some chipped paint, a slightly bent rail and some scratches. The man that delivered it pointed it act in fact. I called immediately to address it and they did nothing. We called again. And again and again. They keep saying they have "no record" of us calling to complain. They keep saying when we do call they will order parts or will have someone come look at it. Nothing. For 2 grand I expect a little more than this run around. Very disappointed. CUSTOMERS BEWARE!!! ALL SALES ARE FINAL! I would give zero stars if possible. Husband and I bought a $1,000 couch and before we even picked it up decided we had changed our minds about the couch. We walked into the store and walked to the back desk. We explained to the saleswoman that the location of my husbands career just changed without notice and we were no longer moving to the area. Another saleswoman walks over and rudely asks "What's going on?" So we again explain, with the manager of the store standing behind her observing, our situation. She then pulls out our contract and tells us "You only have 24 hours to cancel." Yes, I understand canceling an order, but canceling is not the same as a return. I replied "There is to be another way to deal with our situation." Store credit was never offered. And when we bought our couch we were never informed that all sales were final. The manager says to us "Too bad, you own it now. You'll have to sell it." CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NONEXISTENT!! Kristen, the office manager, helped me with my indecisiveness, as well as helped with me with my purchased of a kitchen table and console. I dropped into the Ashley Homestore in Shallotte NC this morning and found the PERFECT couch I have been looking for. The Salesman Jimmy was very helpful and nice. There was no pressure to look at other pieces or add-ons. Once we were finished I went to complete my purchase at the sales counter. I was helped by Heather who was delightful and so sweet. I bought an Accent Chair made by Daystar at the Shallotte store and it developed fuzz balls or "pilings' shortly after use and also purchased the extended warranty offered by Ashley. Ashley refused to replace or refund the money for the chair with the Customer Service Corporate office in Florence saying that is normal for this material. If this is the case, the sales people at the store should have told me this, no one did, and I would not have bought this chair, who wants a chair with "pilings" on it. I was so excited to receive my ($$) sofa, that the salesman assured me could be ordered the way I needed and delivered in a timely manner. However, I waited a month and no call. I finally started calling about delivery. It took several unanswered messages and 3 rescheduled delivery dates, oh and two months to receive the wrong chaise. Oh and delivery said they picked it up from a store, not warehouse. So does that mean they sold me a floor model? The wrong floor model? The worst experience ever! read more

We were helped by Mathea who was very patient with us and spent several hours with us picking out our furniture. She kept in touch with us every step of the way to keep us informed as far as delivery. We have been back several times to purchase other items. Very pleased with the furniture and service. Absolute worst customer service experience ever! We purchased a patio set last July (2017) & by October the cushions had all faded. It was set up in a screened in porch- no direct sunlight. I initiated a claim to get the cushions replaced & I am STILL waiting! We received 3 in March, 3 in June & now they are saying the last 2 won't be in until Aug.! I have had to make way too many phone calls & send too many emails for this to still be dragging on. I am thoroughly disappointed. read more

I was at Ashley home store shopping for furniture yesterday there were many employees walking around and not one person greeted me or asked if they could help me... I went up to the desk and stood ...there were at least six people back there sitting behind desks, not one person acknowledge me or asked if they could help me I said excuse me am I invisible ?? and no one said anything so I said the heck with it and I left and I purchased a complete bedroom set elsewhere so they lost a big sale.. Awful! By far the worst experience I have ever had with a furniture store. Ordered furniture over a month ago and PAID IN FULL THAT DAY. Promised two different delivery dates, no one showed on the first one and then on the second one they delivered ONE piece when it should have been an entire bedroom set and a couch and a chair. Called multiple times only to be told "it's on back order" and still waiting for a delivery date. Sales man doesn't get on the phone anymore, makes the receptionist speak with me not. I purchased this sofa April 7 2012 and it is already quit reclining,the motor has quit.I call the tech number In Florence SC and talk to a complete idiot named David Broch who tells me it will be next week before he can send out a tech,not sure what they pay him,but its wat too much.That is completely unacceptable,i bought 2 end tables as well and had to sennd both sets of them back for the poor workmanship quality. I will leave reviews all over the internet and a 1/2 page ad in the local newspaper about this.This is the poorest customer service from anyone i have ever received,i ran a trucking company for 30 years taking high end furniture from High Point NC and Hickory NC to the northeast and these customers never had to deal with issues like these with Henredon,Baker,Pulaski,Broyhill etc as this junk Ashley sales consumers.I want to and will get the word out in this area as to the way they do business here,regardless of the cost i incur.Dont care what it costs,i hate to see people waste their hard earned money on this junk.Alot of families rely on their hard earned money only to be taken by thieves like this.
