located right above alixandra blue in downtown hinsdale, this is the sister store to alixandra…read moreright down the street. while alixandra is relatively casual, i would call hollis it's upscale sibling. clothing here is higher priced and i would think it uncommon to find anything below $100. that being said, the owner of this chain of small boutiques has a wonderful eye for fashion and everything is always beautiful and on trend. brands such as nicole miller, hale bob, and joie can be found here. it's a small little space, wonderfully organized and clean, and filled with gorgeous clothes. plus, everyone is always lovely and helpful! when my mom found a lush cashmere sweater she just had to have for christmas, they had convenient little notecards made up for wishlists. & they kept them at the store so when i went back with my dad a few days later, they simply pulled up her notecard, found the sweater, and rang us up. took less than 5 minutes! (i would say my dad was seriously impressed... and relieved.)

While this is not exactly an uncommon experience in high end stores unfortunately, typically at other luxury stores the staff is at least apologetic and willing to help you order a correct size, but that was not the case here. It was also not like she was looking for a crazy size - 12 - and after a quick google search, many of the brands listed carry to a twelve, some even higher. Warning to anyone who isn't tiny, this store is not for you. You would be better off looking directly to the brand, or going to a different store that isn't going to make you feel like you have to look and be a certain way to shop there, or at least would be willing to help you find clothes that fit you

I was the only customer. I was dressed nicely but not dressed-up. I am a firm believer that one need not "dress up" to go shopping. One woman who, I think is the owner, said "hi" to me but nothing more than that. Not one of the employees ever asked me if I needed help or what I was looking for. While I was looking around the three of them stood in the middle of the store chatting. My guess is based on what I was wearing (again, nice) likely made them deduce that I couldn't afford their clothing, nor was I the right clientele. Guess what? I could more than afford that store. I have bought many of the brands they carry from other stores. My husband and I have a HHI that I predict is well beyond any of their's including the owner's. That, however, should not matter. How unfortunate it is when people judge others so harshly and wrongly. Shame on all three of you women who were in the store today, August 3rd at approximately 2:30. My husband and I recently moved from the Gold Coast downtown. I can tell you employees at the stores on Oak St. (far nicer than Sweet William) were always welcoming, friendly and helpful. So many customer reviews say how nicely they were greeted; how helpful the staff is; great personal service etc. The staff I WAS NOT greeted by today was unfriendly and the epitome of snobby.

I've been in here multiple times actually and everyone has been very kind to me. There's a bunch of social distancing reminders and everyone was wearing their masks properly. Recently, I stopped in here to return a pair of jean shorts I bought online that were too big. The associate at the register greeted me with a huge smile and was so easy to talk to. The line moved very quickly and the return was very simple. Additionally, Old Navy has had it ALL recently. From jean shorts to swim suits to linen pants, I've found so many awesome items here. Not to mention the affordable prices! Between in-store options and online special offers, you can really find some good stuff to spoilt yourself here for summer. They also have comfortable lightweight cotton masks that you can get in a 5 pack in plain black or a variety of colors. I got a more colorful set of masks and I get compliments on them all the time. And none of my clothes fit!! Other shops in Oak Brook mall didn't carry my size (12-14) but Talbots offered nearly all their options in my size!! Pam even brought over matching scarves for me to try. The $60 scarves were too steep for my budget, but I found a skirt, cardigan, and pair of trousers that worked. Thank you, Pam!!
