I called on Tuesday and was able to get an appointment on Thursday for me and a girl friend. The booking process was slow and took a while to get across exactly what I wanted. But they seemed very accommodating. On the day of the appointment, the woman eith whom I booked the appointment called and said due to a call off, she was unable to have our take care of my friend and I at the same time. She said she would be able to do us one after the other. I told her that was fine. When we arrived, no one was easily visible in the salon. No music was playing. We were the only 2 people there. The woman I had spoken to on the phone came out of the back room. She was walking slowly. She stated she had fallen the night before and was injured. She moved very slowly and did my manicure and pedicure first. She made little attempt to make conversation. She did not know her own polishes very well and seemed very discombobulated. The manicure and pedicure were less than stellar. She did not ask if I needed my nails to be cut shorter. She did not trim my cuticles at all. My finger nails are unevey shaped and poorly painted. There is paint on my cuticles and naked strips around my edges. There was no attempt made to partially dry them before applying cuticle oil. Hello. I called and made an appointment and specifically told her I wanted all over root color and partial highlites when I got there she was working on a friend and I waited 15min. Not a big deal. I sat down and explained I pull red. I do NOT want the red tone. I asked for a darker root color . We looked at swatches which honestly is very hard to do not being a colorist and I told her make it alittle darker but please no gold tone . No red. She did the color (root only) and added about 7-10 highlights. Rushed thru this. Washed my hair and without a full blow dry (or trim as I asked for) she told me I'd have to come back another day for maybe lowlights a style and cut?!? I was EXTREMELY understanding of this woman's time. Was I happy -NO. But I understood. Perhaps she overbooked? However I called in and made an appointment. If she could not take me that day at 130 for the services I asked for then she should have told me so!?! Her friend had driven 2hrs so I was pretty understanding. However, I was also a paying customer. $160 later with hardly a blow dry. No trim. No style I walked out . I then Saw my hair in the natural light and have been upset since. I tried to call for 2days. Nobody answered. I finally got thru today at 9:45 am (sat.) and explained I need her to fix this. I have graduation this week. Lots of family events , lots of pictures. She said No. I have to wait 3 wks before she has time. 3 weeks?!? And his will fade by then?! Honestly I am so upset I have been treated this way. I don't have this kind of money for someone to make a mistake this way . I told her 10xs PLEASE NO RED!!! I trust you , you are the stylist not me. I was very patient with this woman. I wasn't happy to walk out with half wet hair and have to go home and dry and style myself especially since paying $160 for a service that was not completed. Today she made NO effort to apologize. Nothing. Basically said the best I can do is June 2. So I'm out $160 and will now have to go elsewhere to get this fixed -PAYING again. I am not ok with this and should absolutely be refunded. Again if she didn't have the time to do what I was asking when I called for an appointment she should have told me this. She did not listen to what I wanted or actually did NOT WANT. Right now I am just a mess . This is NOT OK. Please be mindful of who is doing your hair . Even communicating with someone doesn't seem to be enough to these days . I work very hard for my money . DESPICABLE! Where do I even begin? I called the salon so many times to schedule an appointment only to ring & ring before dead air. Finally, someone answered the phone after multiple attempts of trying to reach them and I stated "I have 2 LocalFlavor certificates that I would like to use." She said she didn't know anything about LocalFlavor and told me she would ask someone and call me back later that same day. I never received a call. So I tried to call the salon the following day only for the phone to ring & ring. So I went to good old Google, read reviews that had mentioned a salon Facebook page so I went there and booked 2 appointments using Facebook. BOTH appointments were CONFIRMED which I have proof of in my Facebook messenger. My appointment was scheduled for 10:30 and I arrive to the salon at 10:30 and the first thing the woman said was "you were supposed to be here at 10." Again, I have proof that my appointment was scheduled at 10:30. Then she blamed me for her not being able to turn the music in the salon on because I was "late and I was supposed to be there at 10!????" So she takes me back to do my manicure first. I asked her if she could paint my nails black with a silver sparkle layer over top and she said "No, we don't do that here." One of the most basic nail polish requests EVER! Umm. ok.. So I settle on a color that looks decent which was shellac, and after she applied the polish realized it was a base coat color and said "oh well, it still looks pretty." Literally 20 minutes after I got home which was roughly an hour and 15 minutes after my manicure was completed my polish on one nail already peeled off which I will post a picture of. Within 4 hours of my manicure every single nail's polish was already off. The woman cut me so many times during both my manicure and pedicure. My fingers and toes are very sore. She did not even know how to hold the nail tools they kept slipping out of her hands. The equipment used was so old & cheap, I have the same equipment at home and I could have done 100x better job. I pamper myself with spa days to relax and I felt SO uncomfortable I just wanted to go home. The manicure was so bad that I didn't trust any polish on my toes so I asked for CLEAR polish so my toe nails would at least shine. When I looked at my toes after they were painted they looked like a clear-greenish color and it literally looked like my toe nails had fungus or something and she was going to let me leave like that! I told her I had asked for clear and she said "I used the basecoat color because I couldn't open the clear top coat bottle (it was stuck shut)." Umm. Ok. The WORST part of the experience hasn't even been mentioned yet. As I am leaving I asked her about my next appointment that was ALREADY SCHEDULED AND CONFIRMED FOR A WAX & A FACIAL! She told me "oh no, I cancelled your next appointment, I ACCIDENTALLY confirmed it but I am fully booked!" "Besides, I do not have anyone here who can do waxing & facials." The website offers so many services and she can only do nails (barely) and hair and you don't realize this until you arrive at the salon. I said I would like the salon owners phone number which she refused to give to me! But after some research and digging I am now believing that she is the salon owner and that she did not want to honor my LocalFlavor certificates that were still in-date. She then told me "I will squeeze you in for a haircut tomorrow." My hair is already short and does not need to be cut. I don't want a haircut. My certificate was also for $100 and how much does a haircut cost? Definitely not $100 which would have been a huge loss for me. I would not recommend this business to anyone. Do some digging and read the reviews. The salon was once a good salon with a great owner but since the new owner took over 2-3 years ago everything went down hill. She is destroying the good name of what used to be Ashley Stevens Salon. This salon is a scam with horrendous service. Save yourself the headache and go else where! Horrible service, scamming owner, liar, unprofessional, owner told me she was all booked up because I had a LocalFlavor certificate which I knew was a LIE because it was DEAD in her business and I was able to book my appointment same day... hmmm... appointment was confirmed... she then cancelled it on me, so I sent my boyfriend in to ask for a haircut and she told him her schedule was WIDE OPEN! Overall, the place was clean and the staff was very friendly. Megan, the stylist was very helpful and nice. She had a young trainer that shampoo and styled my hair. I travel a lot so I'm always having to go to new salons to cut my hair. You would think having short hair is easy and a plus. Not at all! I run into this more than I can say, with having to explain and re-explain how my hair is cut. The stylist cut my hair and had to re cut it a few times. It took longer than normal, and in the end I'm not satisfied with how my hair is. I'm getting used to this issue and shouldn't be surprised. Another salon bites the dust. read more

Excellent salon! Started coming here upon the recommendation of a friend and after having several unsatisfactory haircuts in Carlisle. Steve is a fantastic stylist. He is a color expert and I have been so happy with his recommendations for my hair cuts. I also like that he teaches me how to style my hair so I can actually recreate the look at home! Price was decent compared to other salons, still hate paying that much for a hair cut, but it was done well. For me paying a few bucks extra than I would at one of those cheap places is worth it to look good. The atmosphere here is very chill and the Gina who did my hair did a great job and was very friendly. I am definitely going to go back here more often. Samantha has cut my hair twice now. She cut it in August, and I had someone else cut and color it in September, and I went back to Samantha as soon as I could Samantha did my roots and a trendy cut (for my short thick and wavy hair, it seems as though 95% of stylists, against my instructions, cut off my bangs, thin my hair so it's lying down like a dude's, and cut the back in some straight across method more suited for a woman 20 years older than me. Also, the color is very important - she colored my hair and due to my sensitive scalp,put equal in the color and I had little to no irritation. After moving nearly two hours away, we still try to come back here every chance we get. My husband and I both enjoy the salon, cuts/highlights/mani-pedis/ and massages have all been great. My girlfriend had her hair done here and we paid a good amount of money for it and left more than a 20 percent tip. We weren't completely satisfied with the hair when it was done but we didn't want to be rude so we left and were going to try to fix it Before we even got home the style was falling out. We then had to go to a different person to do her hair and waste more time. We then called the salon and asked for a refund and not only did they not refund me the had the decency to be rude and refuse us a refund. Wouldn't recommend going here. read more

When I told the receptionist I was leaving because I had already waited 25 minutes, the receptionist looked confused and didn't even offer an apology. In 4 years of living in Pennsylvania I couldn't find a stylist who could accurately cut my very thick hair into a classic bob. It was butchered every which way! I would go back to my beloved hair stylist 6 hours away to fix it...this really got old. I tried Megan at Ashley Stevens and she did a fabulous job. I get compliments all the time, just as I always did when my previous hair stylist did it. (Great that I can now call him "previous!") Had my hair done by Gina. Loved the cut & the color she used. However, the application itself was a disaster. Appointment took two hours and I was a mess by the end. I had huge color stains on my face, neck and arm. I bought color stain remover from Sally to get the stuff off of my skin. But the next day, when I put my hair in a ponytail, I realized I had blotches of stain on my scalp. Looked like I had big polka dots all over my head. Also, didn't get the color all the way to my roots (could have forgiven the scalp staining if it had been because she was trying to get close to my hairline) but I still had gray showing at my hairline. Very nice girl, but not experienced enough to be called a master stylist (which is her title at the salon). read more
