We had her for both our engagement and wedding photos and I couldn't imagine having anyone else. She took the time to brainstorm and get to know us as a couple and to always make sure we felt comfortable and happy with the results. Not to mention a lovely giftbox of goodies after we booked her! Her attention to detail and ability to capture the small moments is beyond compare. You could feel the emotion, joy, and love of the day through the images she captured. As a person who struggles with anxiety and self esteem, she went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and was able to capture images that made me feel like a princess. On-top of all that, her personality is amazing, she's down to earth and seamlessly blends into the reception like she was a guest, all while capturing the joy and fun of the party. Her associate Alicia was also amazing and would be working seamlessly with Karissa to get a variety of shots. She went above and beyond, even creating a small photo album for my husband and I before the reception was even over! Along with a beautifully written card and polaroid images that I was able to create a lovely shadowbox with. These little touches made a world of difference for a stressful day, and made her feel more like a close friend instead of a hired vendor. I implore you, if you're in need of a photographer, book Karissa, she is well worth your time and money and you will get truly memorable pieces.

They provide excellent service and gorgeous photos for incredibly reasonable prices. My husband and I first asked them to do a nice couples portrait for us on the UC Berkeley campus. We had never done any sort of portraits before (y'know, beyond those stiff, cheesy school photos back in the day), so we were a little nervous to start. Justin and his wife/assistant Dana immediately put us at ease with their friendly, professional manner. After a few shots my husband and I relaxed, and we got some wonderful photos to share as Xmas gifts (and yes, we even did some cheesy poses for fun). We came back to them a few years later for newborn photos for our first child. We arranged for them to visit us in the hospital, and I treasure those pictures above all others taken in that period. I had a difficult and unpleasant experience in the hospital (but that's for another Yelp review), but when I look at Justin's beautiful photos all I remember were the good moments, and how much Justin and Dana's calm, friendly visit cheered me up. They came to our home a few weeks later for part two of our newborn portrait package. Again, their bright manner made the afternoon special and fun. They did some lovely "candid" shots of us feeding our baby, then some more posed shots of the baby with some fun props they'd brought. As parents themselves, they know how to calmly and easily deal with a little newborn, and our little guy was as relaxed as a month-old could be. The pictures turned out AMAZING. Well, that baby is a year-and-a-half, and it's time for some family portraits. I know exactly who we're turning to!

At the time I was supposed to receive the photographs hers were nowhere to be found, ok, maybe it was an oversight. I contacted him and he took a while to get back to me, again, fair enough. When he did get back to me I was met with a very defensive attitude, no reassurance whatsoever. Again, I wanted my photos so I helped as much as I could, gave him a lot of information but I had to chase him for a response. His response left a lot to be desired, he was super rude, and I of course expressed how disappointed I was and started to give the same energy. I asked if he had a studio where he could photograph my daughter since the photos were paid for but ultimately settled for a group photo. He repeated over and over again how he did not receive the order form and how my daughter didn't turn it in, she's FOUR and he knows she had to be around that age. I turned it in to whoever the woman was receiving them. It is NOT my fault that Marty misplaced my order form and did not photograph my daughter when that same woman told him I wanted her photographed. If he did not have time to photograph her, was out of memory, or whatever the case was, he could have told me. It's not about the money, it's the principal. I will NEVER hire Marty myself, I do not like his attitude, service, or even his work, I only bought it to have the memory of my daughter's dance season. If I could give zero stars I would.
