The salesman who followed us around the store and would not leave us alone completely ruined our experience in Ashley Homestore. We told him all we came to look at was rugs and he kept pushing this bed on us, after I told him we weren't interested he just kept pushing this tempur pedicure bed. Then when we went to pay, he told us the rugs we bought were $7000, because he added the beds to the bill, apparently he was under the impression we had said we were interested in the beds. I very clearly had said we didn't want these beds. Way too pushy and the furniture there is way over priced and cheaply made. I would never return to this store. read more

We purchased a $3000+ table from Ashley furniture November 14, with delivery set for November 29/25. The table was delivered without any hardware. The delivery guys called the warehouse and store and told us the hardware to put the table together could not be located and would need to be ordered. We heard nothing further from anyone at Ashley. We subsequently contacted the store and customer service multiple times to ultimately be told the parts were estimated to arrive January 13/26. We requested to return it so we could purchase a useable table before Christmas and were told we'd been sold a floor model "as is" and couldn't return it. We weren't informed of that at the time of purchase, nor is it stated anywhere on our invoice. We also certainly did not purchase a disassembled table. Customer service was non-existent, everyone said they couldn't help and it wasn't their problem. We were left $3000 out of pocket with an unusable table and a completely ruined Christmas in a new house we bought so we could finally have space to host Christmas dinner. Buyer beware. I bought 2 mattresses spending $12,000. The consistency between the show room and bedroom are completely different. The Queen mattress was not quality or consistent with what I tried. I could only lay very briefly and hated it. This one cost about $5,000 and I called as i said i couldn't sleep on it and they said "sorry no refunds". you need to keep the mattress for 30 days to return it to them and it is a credit cannot be used on anything. I think it is ridiculous that if you spend good money and after the first day want to return they refuse. they also didn't go over the return policy with me. I will never say anything positive about this company. Go to a quality store and customers first store. You will regret dealing with them! read more

We recently purchased a split King power base bed and mattresses and 4 bar stools. While the initial in store customer service was quite amazing, it falls very flat once they have your money and you leave the store. We had all items delivered via "white glove" service ($350). Apparently this means putting things in the right room, partial set-up, with mess left behind and leaving me to properly set up the bed after they stayed their total of 10 minutes. Onto the product, one mattress was the wrong size, at this point we are one month out and still no replacement. More on that later. The bar stools are great, at least the 3 brand new ones I received, not so much the 4th which was obviously a floor model. damaged cushion, swivel off centre and damaged legs. I spoke to Ashley on the phone, I was told they would repair the chair, or exchange it for a restocking fee. I was livid, I bought a new chair and expected a new chair. After 30 minutes of the girl following her script I was finally granted an exchange. As for the mattress, delivery was scheduled for today. Ive been staying around home all day waiting. I finally called and was told they don't have the mattress and will reschedule. Thanks for the notice. The manager we dealt with on the sale was great during the sale, but has not returned any calls after. I guess they have our money now, so why bother. While their products have been great, I would avoid any future purchases based on their lack of proper customer service. read more

Bought a couch that when delivered looked like it was dropped , kicked and dragged through dirt. Call guest care and cleaning was arranged. The company was unable to clean it at numerous locations. She told me that a thorough report would be submitted. I found out through customer care that my only options were a store discount 15 percent of price of couch or a repair. This was a new couch just delivered and I requested that they pick this one up and order me a new one. I wax told that was not an option I submitted a claim and and when agreed that repair were to be done and I would receive a call date to repair. Months have gone by and if not for me calling in I would not have received a call period. I was told by customer care that out file was closed because we didn't return a call when made by them. I explained to them that I had infact return a call and accepted to have damaged areas repaired. I had to start all over with guest care, it was very difficult to deal with this when customer care could not find the initial report from the party that attempted the cleaning. The cleaning was attempted on various areas of the couch to no avail. Customer care Said to me ( you won't believe this) that the company was to only clean one area I responded WHAT!!!. He customer care was trying to tell me that ypu are allowed only one area to clean on one call. I had to remind him that this was not a warranty issue but a delivery issue. WOW!!, I now am aware alot about how Ashley/ dufrense furniture companies work when you really dig into warranty and customer care.NOTHING LIKE WE ARE BEING TOLD AT TIME OF PURCHASE. On the sales representative business card is there phone number, this is not there phone number but the phone number to customer care and not to your sales tep of the store as an option to speak with them directly. Absolutely rubbish and untruthful at time of sale. It like pulling teeth to customer assistance. You are bullied by customer care and are redirected to texting and filling out all info yourself. Like you are the employee and the sales person. To add when I requested the report from the party that was sent out to clean my couch, I was no, because of some LEGAL Mumble jumble. Hogwash.The reason I asked for the report was that customer care was saying only one spot was only on the report. You can clearly see where this going , why I asked to see report was because I know the person that attempted to clean pointed out all areas affected that she was unable to clean. I requested they send another tech out to see fir themselves, he outright said that will not happen. I was floored to say the least. Just to add, had also another claim in on the table we purchased claim was called in over two week ago. I received no call and customer care apologized for this and no answers as to why. I purchased a king size mattress with box spring and metal frame with a 10 year warranty! The mattress now has lower points where we sleep. I called the Regent Ave store and placed a mattress claim. I submitted the claim with pictures. The claim was denied for the reason they said was the mattress is not properly supported by the box spring and metal frame. DO THEY FORGET THEY SOLD ME ALL THESE PIECES AND ASVISED AT SALE EVERYTHING WILL BE OK. I have called and no return call whatsoever. I suggest anyone thinking of purchasing from Ashley Home store to consider a different company that will stand by the products they sell. I purchased new furniture in March. I did not want to finance it as it was just a few pieces. More than I could purchase on debit. I was pressured to finance it and did. I told the sales agent the address on my drivers licence was not my mailing address for invoicing. I needed them to send it to my box number as I live in a town without home mail delivery. Seemed pretty standard to me. I was not informed as he wrote down my correct mailing information that it was my responsibility to give the financing company my proper mailing address. I was not handed the slip of paper indicating this as well. That was the sales agents only mistake. Had he told me this, there would be no issue. Here's where my mistake was made. When I called the financing company to inquire as to why I had not been sent anything in the mail, I was not aggressive enough with them. I did not ask if perhaps the sales agent had given the wrong mailing info. I became complacent because of Covid and long mail delivery delays. I did not inquire again. That's on me. My account was sent to collections. Once I discovered this, my financing had been voided. It had only been voided for a short time, but enough that I owed the full balance. I attempted to have this reversed and inquired as to if damages to my credit score could be reversed. I feel like I was given the run around so to speak. I spoke to nobody who was of any help. Every conversation was scripted and designed to pressure me to pay. At least this is the impression I got. Nobody acknowledged an error had taken place. I feel like I spoke to nobody with any real skill level in dealing with the issue I was having. I was told the furniture store and financing company are separate. I paid the full balance and still don't know if my credit score is damaged. It's quite likely, as I was not in arrears long, that it's still great. It took years to build it up. This is one mistake in many years of perfect credit. I'm not giving Ashley Furniture a great review. Ultimately the error was my responsibility to discover is the lesson I've learned in this experience. Ashley Furniture lacked the customer service structure to correct their initial error. I take responsibility as well but urge anyone reading this to be cautious when financing anything. Unfortunately I can no longer do business with them even though this was my third financed purchase. I will still need a few items in the future but I'm clearly too small a customer to go the extra mile for. The current sales manager was just doing his job when he denied any responsibility. I feel for him as it must be embarrassing to work for a company where his skill set is overshadowed by the policies he must navigate. read more

On March8,2024 Ashley pulled up their truck in front of our house facing the wrong way on the street they parked in a handicap loading zone completely blocking it and pulled right up to my wife's front bumper of her truck completely blocking her in. She needed to go to work and told them they need to move so she can get out. The idiots were just rude to her and kept unloading the furniture and ignoring her. 25 minutes later she was still blocked in and now going to be late for work so she had to call her boss and explain these 2 idiots from Ashley Furniture refuse to move their truck and she was still stuck. I was at work and unable to help my wife out who was now in tears she was so upset worried about being late for work. I called the neighbor who was receiving the delivery and he was no help. I called the Ashley customer service phone line and filed a complaint against these delivery guys. If this is how they treat people while they represent Ashley Furniture they need to be fired. This uncaring idiotic behavior is unacceptable and deplorable. I was so angry how they ignored my wife pleading with them to move their illegally parked truck so she could get to work and just kept going about their delivery. This company is terrible and I do not recommend anyone ever shops there!!!!!! read more

We bought a new mattress at the regent location. On delivery day when we unpacked it, we realized they sent us the wrong mattress. When I called guest care immediately they told me I would have to take it up with the store. For over a month I got the run around... No he's not in today, no the store manager is in a meeting, no we are waiting on the regional manager for permission to return it,... and it went on and on even if I showed up there. Guest care is powerless to help and its a totally faceless company. if you have a serious issue, good luck finding someone to help. If I could put a negative star rating I would. I have had nothing but problems since receiving my "new" sleeper sofa sectional back in March. The delivery people scratched up my door, doorframe and handle. Once they placed the couch I noticed the fabric was ripped on the side of the couch. I then asked for them to take pictures and send them in. They told me I had 48 hours to look over the couch to make sure there were no other issues. Once my husband got home I showed him the damage that I had already seen and he then looked it over with me only to find out the sleeper sofa was broken, scratched and was only being held onto by half a screw as well as some other parts we broken off. We took pictures of all the damage and sent them in. There has been a lot of missteps taken by Ashley Furniture since then and my sofa is still broken and unsafe for my kids to use or for us to sleep on. Parts have been canceled or misplaced and has been reordered several times. When they did schedule a time to come out to fix my "new" sofa no one came, I waited all day. When I called to ask why they hadn't come yet they told me they were missing one of the parts and were surprised no one contacted us to let us know they wouldn't be coming out, that was in the summer. It is now October and our sofa is still unsafe for our family. I could go on as there has been other mess ups on their end but you get the picture of the horrible service we have received and the poor quality of the product. read more

Terrible customer service.... dropped over $4000 on a bedroom set, was told when it was delivered "let us know in 48 hours if you want to exchange your box spring for a low profile one" not a complicated request right? I've called 4 times now and still can't get It sorted out.. customer service says they're passing it along and someone will call me and no one ever does. Also apparently exchange within 48 hours means you still have to pay a $150 fee, which isn't an exchange at that point, you're just buying a new product. Awful delivery service! Delivery staff damaged my door. Now they offer me a compensation 5 times less than damage repair estimate.

I went to the St. James location and purchased just over $5000 worth of furniture. After signing all paperwork - I was told it would be 3 weeks before they'd deliver. So I waited - and on the day they were supposed to finally deliver my furniture - they didn't show up - call or anything. I called them to ask where my stuff was. They came the next day at 9:30 pm to deliver and then had to set the stuff up. I was livid. I live in a seniors block and them carting in furniture at 9:30 pm was not acceptable. By the time they left my condo it was approximately 11:00 pm. I won't buy from them ever again. read more

The couches are hard as rocks. Everything is very expensive and over-priced for quality. Sales staff never approached me or seemed interested in working that day, even after I was trying out every couch on the floor. I've been getting calls from Ashley Furniture asking for someone who long moved from my place. They need to update their clients information or make it easier to get ahold of them to tell them the person they are calling for no longer lives here. Ashely Furniture Store at Regent, Winnipeg Manitoba This has been one of the worst experiences, my wife and I have had. After buying almost 7k in furniture, our salesperson had arranged the delivery of it for July 2, 2021. We waited and waited but no furniture arrived, so, I decided to call customer service to find out if they were going to deliver by the end of the day. Here, is where the saga starts, first of all their IVR system got me to go in circles, then, when I finally got an agent, she was condescending and almost rude (I am glad that the phone calls are recorded). I maintained my cool as I explained that my wife and I had arranged for delivery of our buy for July 2. The customer service (she) let me know that there was no date arranged for delivery and that there was one piece of furniture missing and that there was not going to be any delivery made until of all the order was completed. Furthermore, Ashely was going to call to arrange for delivery when the order was ready. The customer service agent did not give an ETA or explained why they did not give us any updates. After my unsatisfactory call with customer service, I called the store and talked to the salesperson that we had that day. I politely explain the issue we were having. He apologized and asked me to give him time to find out what had happened. After a while he called me back, and said that no piece of furniture was missing and that the entire order was waiting to be delivered from the warehouse in Winnipeg but that he did not know when they could get it to us. At this point it was obvious that July 2 was not going to happen, and we did not know when we were going to get the paid goods. Then, I got a text from the Ashely store with and update on our order, after responding yes to the text questions, I was transfer to the same disinterested agent in customer service I had talked to before. I asked her what was the update? She said, "when we get the order in our warehouse, we will give you a call to arrange delivery ", so no update. The story from sales contradicts customer service and as for customer service, well... there was none. Going to go to the store and get my money back. NEVER BUY FROM ASHLEY FURNITURE!!!!!! Bought a couch and love seat for $2150 and it came broken, asked to return it within 48 hours. I haven't even taken the tags off and told I would receive $1000 back!!!!!!!!! I purchased a couch and love seat from ashley furniture against a few peoples advise as I couldn't find anything else I liked. My grand total was $2150 with the 5 year protection plan. I had it delivered and the boxes had no damage so everything looked fine but once I got the sofa out of the box the arm was damaged. The wood inside the arm is broken and sticking out. I called immediately and was told someone would call me back within 48 hours. I got a call from guest care the next day and was told they were going to send a technician within 3 weeks to have someone look at it. I had provided pictures to them and asked how it would be possible to fix if the wood inside of it was broken. They told me they would still need to send out a tech to look at it and at that point the technician would decide if they need to order a new one. So I would be waiting at the very least 3 weeks. At this point I told them I would like to return it and asked how much I would receive back as they have a 25% restocking fee. I was told after a lengthy wait that I would receive back $1000.99 at this point I asked to speak to a manager and I was told I couldn't speak to one. I kept being put on hold and asked multiple times to speak to a manager and never got to!!! I was told it was only 1000 back as the 5 year protection plan isn't refundable!!! So I would have a protection plan for furniture I don't have!!! This still isn't resolved!!! I will never buy from this company again!!!!!!! read more

Went to buy just a headboard and was greeted buy a lady who told us of a great price and was leading us to bed set closer to the back of the store. She said it was 199.00 dollar when We got closer I saw a 50 percent sign which she quickly turned around so we couldn't see it. I asked her about it because I already saw it briefly and she said oh I guess it's 175 dollars. I found this deliberate deception unnerving and we left without buying anything. This was the Regent Avenue store in Winnipeg. People have told me not to go there but I was driving by so I thought I would stop in but I totslly know now why people said don't bother. read more

TERRIBLE STORE! STAY AWAY! We bought some end tables which were damaged right in the box. They took them back but it took many calls to get a refund. Even then they kept $150 (1/3 of the cost) for "restocking". All this was after buying their expensive extended warranty.The tables were cheaply made, and did not seem to be durable. The people we talked to were generally rude and condescending. Stay away from all Ashley Furniture Stores. Their return policy is terrible. read more

We bought a sectional in 2016 and they offered a 5 yr warranty. Now in 2019, I claimed my warranty due to small cracks in the bonded leather. Furniture is replaced with an exact same copy. So happy with the service. Winnipeg read more

I purchased a coffee table from Ashley and when i got it home it looked like it was put together by a 5 yr old. It was packaged in a makeshift box made from Danby refrigerator box and held together by packing tape and staples. here were countless chips and scratches and there was actually a large chunk of wood missing from the bottom border of the table about 1.5 inches by about 2 inches. On the other side of the table there was a similar issue but the wood just hadn't fallen off yet. I called customer service to report the issues and was told i would be contacted that Friday to arrange delivery of the replacement. No one called on Friday so i called back on Monday and was told the table wouldn't be ready until the 23rd, 8 days away, i asked to speak with a supervisor to confirm this from a senior representative with more experience. After arguing with the rep about it being a waste of time for the supervisor i was put on hold and when he came back i was told i would be called that night before 9:00 PM. Surprise Surprise, no one called. So today i called back in and asked to speak with a supervisor. Once a supervisor got on the phone the attitude started. She took everything i was saying as a personal attack and began acting like a 15 yr old girl who doesn't want to clean her room. I was then told that i cannot return my table and that i was 'stuck' having to wait for a new one which is now some time between the 23rd and 28th (24 hours later and now there is an additional week added to the wait time). After pushing back i was told that i could return the item but there would be a 25% restocking fee (25% to wrap it in a old refrigerator box and try to pawn it off on the next sucker) After i kept pushing i was told that Ashley does not offer any compensation for anything and that if i could get the table down to the warehouse today before it closes then i would get a full refund. When i told here that simply wasn't possible as i have to work and am preparing for a trip out of the country she stated that 'If it isn't there by Saturday then you're stuck with it'. In short: DO NOT ORDER FROM ASHLEY AND IF YOU DO INSPECT YOUR ITEM AT THE WAREHOUSE BEFORE TAKING IT HOME. This entire ordeal has totally swayed me from Ashley and I will never be purchasing anything from them EVER AGAIN. Please head my warning and purchase your furniture from another of the many furniture stores in the city unless of course you are looking for snarly customer service reps, lies, deceit and that wonderful feeling of being ripped off. read more

I have purchased Washer, Dryer, Fridge, Stove, Dishwasher and Couch and Love Seat as well as other furniture from Ashley HomeStore. I have had these appliances for 6 months. My top load washer decided to stop working (April 13th). I called for service repair from the number on my Sales Receipt. They couldn't get someone out to me for a couple of days. Service man comes and determines the main board is fried and we would need another main board. Tells me he will order the part and should be back in two or three days to install new part. I don't hear from this service man for 6 days. I call him and they tell me part is on order and won't be in until the end of May or possibly June. This was not acceptable to me and I called Ashley service center and spoke with them. They said they would look into it and call me right back. Nobody called me back, I then place a call to store manager and they tell me he will call me back in 2 - 4 hours. Unbelievably the manager doesn't call me back. Two days later I call Ashley service back and they inform me there is nothing they can do and I should call Whirlpool. I ask to speak to a manager at service center and they said they will call me back. I shouldn't be shocked as nobody called me back. I call Whirlpool and they tell me they are looking for the part. Will try for 5 days. I am already been without a working washer for 13 days. Even if they get my part in 5 days I would need the service man to install it. To make this worse I have purchased their extended warranty. Sales person told me that if something ever happened and they couldn't get the part within six days they would replace the washer with a new one. Now nobody wants to honor the warranty of replacing the washer as it has now been 13 days without a working washer. Why would anyone purchase any furniture from this place? I am going to have to agree 110% with the other reviewers, especially related to comments about their customer service staff. Avoid this company at all costs!!! This is beyond a doubt one of the worst company's I have ever had to deal with. It actually gets to the point where the process becomes so ridiculous you have to pinch yourself to see if you are having some bizarre nightmare. Even the calmest among you will feel your blood pressure boil after dealing with these people. We made our purchase at Ashley's Regent Avenue location and that went well enough. We didn't get a great deal of help from the floor staff but that was fine because we generally knew what we were looking for. We decided on what appeared to be a nice kitchen table set at a cost of about $2,000. We opted for the delivery since it seemed like a reasonable deal and we agreed on a date for delivery. We were informed that all deliveries were slotted for about a 3 or 4 hour window of time. On the date of delivery we waited and nobody came so we placed a call to the store who informed us that the delivery date was actually later than I had been verbally informed in the store. Unfortunately the error occurred at the time of purchase so in fairness to Ashley, the later date was on the paperwork. I was a bit annoyed at the error but I let things be because I suppose I should have been more on the ball double checking the paperwork. I accepted this as an unfortunate error for which we both held some responsibility. No harm no foul. Life goes on. It was at that point when everything went to hell. Days past and again I waited at home for four hours for the delivery. This time they came but instead of the entire order they just came with the four chairs and no table. The delivery guys handed me a phone to speak with someone in a supervisory position and this individual informed us that the order would be made right and sent out for delivery the next day. Nobody came the next day after another four hour wait. Apparently my time doesn't have value to them. Calls placed to multiple people at their Winnipeg Home Office were aggravating at best. Like the reviewer above notes, the staff were entirely ill equipped to help in any way and they kept trying to convince me that they were making good on the hassle by giving me "the very next delivery date", which in reality was just the same date anyone would get on a normal day. Apparently I was supposed to be thankful for their "efforts". Staff at the home office were childish, unhelpful, rude and condescending. It was actually quite shocking at what passes for customer service at this place. Seriously the most ignorant people I have ever had to deal with in a business transaction. The best part? When it became clear that we were getting nowhere with the person we were speaking to, I asked if I could speak to her supervisor to which she responded "No". So the company takes your money, treats you like garbage and then has a formal policy disallowing you from speaking to people further up the chain. I was floored. Anyway, the irritating process kept going on and on and on. They came for another delivery date and the delivery guys tried to bring in a table that was already damaged. It came right out the truck wedged between everything else. I saw it myself. No box or anything to cover it and they seemed baffled at how the damage could have possibly occurred. We sent it back. They came again...the new table was also damaged. We sent it back and as the delivery guys left we overheard one on the phone telling someone that "about 50% of the day's delivery had been returned due to damage". At this point I wasn't even surprised any more. I had been conditioned to expect disappointment. Continuing on, they came again the other day. This time the table appeared to be in good condition. Except the delivery guys forgot to bring the necessary tools to put it together so back it went in the truck. *bangs head on wall* And here we sit today...still waiting. Unbelievable. I'm honestly not sure if the table will ever arrive. This company should get an award of some sort because they are without a doubt the most frustrating organization that I have ever had to deal with. I don't tend to get worked up about things like this, but the insulting attitude of Ashley staff and their deep incompetence makes me want to tell everyone I know to avoid this place at all costs. I would advise everyone to google "Ashley Furniture Reviews". It wasn't until after it was too late for us that I did, and I found pages upon pages upon pages of similar stories about this company that led me to believe that this is not an isolated incident.
