I've lived most of my life enraptured by stories of all shapes and sizes, with a camera in hand. In 2009, after acquiring a degree and experience in photojournalism and fine art photography from Indiana University, I launched Wandering Heart Photography, formally announcing to the world my intent to photograph the glory of love, the beauty of living, and the power of story. Eight years later the same intent is true. I looked around at other vendors in the area, and Shawn Keller has a lot of artistic talent…read more Shawn Keller was professional and stayed in contact with us several times before our wedding day to discuss what sort of shoot we were expecting. We told him that we wanted a photographer who more or less stayed behind the scenes and let things go with the flow, rather than one who was distracting with too many planned shots. He did exactly that on our wedding day! He was funny and calmed our nerves before the ceremony. Turns out that he also moonlighted at our reception venue and knew all the staff! The price is on the high side, but he has a lot of experience in the biz. The shots that we got back were beautiful. Everyone kept on commenting on what great photos they were!

Came back to update this review because Stacy is worth the time to do so for!…read more Booking Stacy as our engagement/wedding photographer several years ago was one of the best decisions I made with regards to our wedding. Not only was she professional, skilled, and friendly, but she helped this bridal dunce navigate wedding planning and "day of" flow. She was amazing with helping us pose and also kept us laughing the entire time, making it way less awkward! We received our photos back while on our honeymoon, so fast, and they are BEAUTIFUL. I have booked Stacy several times since our wedding for various photos including headshots, family porch photos, and dog photos. I could not recommend her enough (and I do, frequently, and friends say the same thing I did: she's amazing!) Recently she came to my neighborhood and did COVID Porch pictures of families to document this time in our lives. She only charged us b/c I made her do so- (and even with my pushing, she was very inexpensive for the short sessions she did)- she does photography for her love of people and her love of the art.

When our destination…read morewedding was impacted by coronavirus we made the decision to get married in Indianapolis, alone, with our families watching over zoom and postpone our big wedding celebration for a year to April of 2021. One of the best decisions we made was finding Stacy and hiring her. We are SO grateful for her work, it made our makeshift elopement real and you will not believe how great the pics turned out. Stacy was recommended to us by a neighbor who knew she did wedding photography and I had not seen her work before but since we desperately wanted someone to photograph our wedding and she was willing to come, wear a mask and maintain a distance so we hired her. OH MY GOD WE ARE SO LUCKY. THESE PICTURES BELONG IN A MAGAZINE. I am not just saying this, she is so good. I have had pictures taken professionally before and it is so awkward, I normally feel so uncomfortable, hate the way I look, my poses, etc. The pictures she captured were flawless. Stacy was professional, prompt, helpful, and boy is she talented - just the best experience possible. It was beyond our expectations. People are still contacting me months after to tell me how great our photos look - like, friends of friends and beyond. People we don't even know are contacting me about these pictures. Hire Stacy! If you are looking at this and would like to talk to me, please ask Stacy for my contact information so I can answer any of your questions, I am happy to connect and give a glowing recommendation. This was the best part about our wedding.
