After several years, I finally fulfilled a bucket-list item of having a professional photo shoot. I have modeled of and on since I was 19 and have had many experiences with many different photographers. My most recent set of photos I have shared on IG and the photographer behind these images has been a gift to my sense of self and self-worth. @ashleightaylor does SO much more than take your portrait. She see YOU through her lens. She sees beyond your dialog and captures an essence, a truth, a brings something else to light. I have shot with her 3 times on her studio and I have to say, I am addicted to the experience. I love driving to Santa Barbara with little butterflies in my stomach filled with excitement to enter her studio which is like a miniature costume Fox studio closet. I usually have an image of what I hope I could look like which ALWAYS turns out better than I could imagine. One thing I love more than anything is the feeling I have when I leave. I guess it could be described as confident, but it is something humbling that gives me hope. . . My wife and I "won" a silent auction at a charity that was a photo shoot with Ashleigh. Little did we realize that what we actually purchased was the opportunity to have our picture taken, then if we actually wanted any of the pictures, we had to pay hundreds of dollars per image. I was furious to learn that her idea of "donating to charity" was in fact a money making opportunity that was never explained in advance.
