I honestly don't know if it was intentional, I'm a very optimistic person plus it was very much so early in the morning. Annnnnd on top of that I'm hoping that this didn't happen to me bc I came in as a single woman, but yeah went in to pawn an engagement ring. I initially didn't show the guy that helped me the card of authenticity, and honestly after looking at the prices of the rings that they had, I knew I wouldn't be getting much but I also wasn't settling, I would have just left with the ring and sold it privately. The guy that helped me was nice. For sure. No doubt about it. He takes the ring, goes to check it out to see if it was real, comes back, no lie, within 30 Seconds saying that it's moisinite diamonds or however you spell it. I said honestly it really can't be. Bc before I even got there, even with having the card of authenticity I called and asked about the ring to make sure. He gets a second opinion and right away the other guy says the exact same thing. Mind you... this is after I've already been to pawnshops in other states. So not only did I have the go ahead or approval from the other pawn shops but from the website on my card of authenticity.. all I'm saying is... the numerous, loud, obnoxious, repetitive, apologies were kind, sure. And even the continuous examples of you telling me that you always go jewelry shopping with your family members bc you can spot fake jewelry from a mile away was surely comforting. But you may want to do more research about what is in fact real or fake or lab made. Bc after I left I went to another pawn shop to confirm that I infect had the Diamond ring that I knew I had all along. Be more credible is all I'm saying. You should probably get just a tiny bit more insight on how to tell if a Diamond is a real Diamond or not. Like I said.. I could have just been early. Or it could have been an intentional low ball.. either way. You lost a customer. read more

I came to check out this place at the recommendation of a friend. The staff was very friendly. I can honestly say, I am always in search of replacing my crystal stemware. I'm ashamed to say I've broken some previous glasses in my drunken moments. And we all know good antique crystal is difficult to find. But I found a couple of pieces here! The owner's son was amazing. He cut me a great deal. I'm very pleased with my find. Though my crystal is older and rarer, the new additions blend in perfectly to the naked eye. 5 stars from me! read more

This is the worst pawn shop I have EVER been to. They low ball you on everything so make sure you ask for more than you need. They do not go by your history AT ALL. You cannot build a relationship with them as someone that always picks up their things like most pawn shops. These guys treat everyone like crackheads, thieves, or simply desperate people. I forgot why I hated this place so much. Today I got a refresher. I always pawn video games when I needed gas or food to last me to payday. It's been almost 3 years since I last been to this place so I forgot the techniques I acquired back then when I needed a few bucks. So I go there with my wife today and I'm like we just need enough money to pay the deposit for some movers ($50) so I had her just bring a few games out the house. She brought a mix of games for PS4/Xbox one/ Switch that totaled 15. My way of thinking was at the minimum for these games that sell new @ $30-$55 was that at $5 a game 10 would do and the other 5 would be a just in case things get crazy. My wife was telling me she hated the place and we should just got to Value Pawn + on Gessner. I thought it was no way this could go wrong. Man did I f that up. I go in there and the guy Eric (skinny Hispanic one) leaves the front and leaves the newer part Asian looking guy there. I say hi when I get to the counter, no acknowledgement. I immediately make a mistake and say that I'm just trying to get $50 till Friday on a loan. The guy is starts taking the games out and I say I'm not trying to do all of them. He says ok. He pulls all of them out anyway. He looks at the price of one and it's selling new for $30. He does the seedy pawn shop head shake like this is not enough and says I don't think we are going to be able to get $50. I say wait don't just go by that game. These others are newer and stack up all the newer games. Persona 5, Yakuza 6, Dragon Quest 11 to name a few and all selling for 40-55 dollars each with 6 more games in that same range. He looks up Persona and Yakuza and sees the prices and says yeah we usually only take games like this for 5 dollars. I say that's fine, with how many games I got and $5 a game it should be fine. He realizes his blunder and says I mean less than $5. Let me ask my manager. Then he comes back and says I'll give you $40 for ALL of them. I was like you have got to be beeping kidding me. I kept it cool though and simply said naw. Y'all don't go by history or anything? I came to you guys repeatedly and have NEVER lost or not picked up a single thing. In fact it's never been more than a week before picking my stuff back up. He says no they don't. I said ok, got my stuff and went to Value Pawn off gessner. Same games, same day (today 11/13/18) I got $75 for 7 of the games and the guy clearly looked at my history cause he said I hadn't been there since Sep 2016. No haggling, no weird looks, no dirty feeling. Only other pawnshop that's awesome is Wright Pawn on Westheimer. Avoid Ashford Pawn like the plague. read more

I don't go to pawn shop much but I needed a little cash to hold me over till payday so I took my PlayStation 4 in to get a loan. I forgot to bring a remote which I admit is my bad so the guy tells me usually with a controller they'd loan me 110 but since I didn't have it they could only give me 70. I agreed so he started hooking it up to make sure it works. He asks me if there's a game inside and I say yes I brought it to show that it works. Everything checks out so I ask for the game inside and he tells me it was already in it so it's included. I then tell him he didn't even know there was a game inside when he quoted me 70 bucks. He tells me it doesn't matter this is how things are done here and if I wanted to take the game out it would lower the amount he gives me. A ps4 game and a ps4 controller basically sell for the same price and this dude knocked off 40 dollars because I didn't bring a controller but expects me to throw on a game for free?! No common sense. So I pass and go to another pawnshop off Gessner and long point, the staff was WAY friendlier and I got $140 for the same thing. read more
