I worked for a short while and had to quit . They let these children speak to staff as they are scum of the earth! This location the kids break everything, run around and don't listen to staff, curse at staff (these are small kids ). The boys and girls club at EV Cain middle school was THE WORST place I have every worked in my life... The middle schoolers here curse every other sentence and the " boss" says "it's how they talk " . The boys and girls touch each other and the boys grab the girls behinds and NO ONE does ANYTHING. it is insane. I told one child to leave the area that was not permitted and he told me to " go fuck myself" " katie let's us do whatever we want" .... I told the boss and she pulled him aside and then let him to proceed to play less than 5 minutes later. And then he came up to me and said "HAHA fuck you lady". With the way thus place is ran the kids here will either be pregnant, middleschool drop outs, on drugs or worse. I have millions of stories about this place and I told the main bosses of the Boys & Girls Club about the issues and they DID NOTHING. this place should not receive a dime of funding. I think the kids are safer on the street than in these locations. Honestly. Whoever is running this place should be ashamed. Get out from behind your little desk and make some changes. Even the kids that are semi good copy the others and this has life lasting effects. HORRIBLE . HORRIBE. HORRIBLE. Worst place for kids ever. Parents have no idea the way they kids act here and what staff let's them do.

I found Miyagi's through their open gyms for my younger daughter which was always a fun experience…read more My older daughter decided she wanted a gymnastics themed birthday party so we booked a birthday party for her with them. My husband and I were both very disappointed. We were allowed to get there at 1:45 to set up for a 2:00 party and when we got there the woman at the front desk was calling the coach who was supposed to be working it and the coach had forgotten she was working that day. Nothing had been set up yet in the gym so the woman at the front scrambled to get some things set up. She was clearly annoyed with this. The "party room" is just the table to the right of the front desk which is pretty cluttered and dirty. The kids and adults at the party were told many rules they weren't following correctly which was very uncomfortable as the host of the birthday. They asked about getting all the girls of the party into lessons with each other in front of another mom which was also uncomfortable for me because I just wanted the parents to enjoy a nice birthday party without being pressured to sign their children up for something. The coach for the party showed up about 45 minutes late, never came over to introduce herself, and mostly sat around. The website does say the coach will set up games for the kids and things like that. When I walked over to her to introduce myself I asked her if she could do the bubble guns they use at their open gyms because our kids love them and she proceeded to tell me they don't always do them for all parties because if the kids don't like them it's a waste of their bubbles but she was willing to do them for us. They have two bubble guns and when you use both of them (which I've seen other coaches do with ease) it's a much better effect, but she said if I wanted both bubble guns used another parent from the party would need to help her. After the party was over and we cleaned everything up my husband asked her if everything looked ok and if we'd cleaned everything up well enough, and she just responded that she'd just stepped on something sticky. So all in all, we were very displeased with the party on Miyagi's end. We felt the customer service was lacking from all involved and besides having access to the gym...we are not really sure what we paid for.

She's made great relationships with teammates that she still has today. Her coach Jess was really supportive of her skill building and college aspirations. My daughter has since graduated and moved out of state for college. She considered playing in college and was able to reach out to coach Jess during a break at home, and Jess extended an open invitation for her to get back into practice. My daughter ultimately decided not to play at the college level, but the relationships built and warm reception are priceless as she navigates life. My younger daughter would like to follow her sisters footsteps and when we get there, Omni would be our choice for club.

Omni really needs to start giving more playtime to their players. It's super frustrating to travel…read moreso far for tournaments and games just to sit on the bench the whole time. If coaches aren't going to actually play everyone, then the teams should be smaller--around 9 or 10 players instead of 12 or 13. Having so many players means some kids barely touch the court, no matter how hard they practice or how committed they are. On top of that, some of the coaches are just plain mean. They don't encourage their players or try to build confidence--they tear them down instead. There's a huge difference between being strict and being rude, and unfortunately, a lot of the coaching here crosses that line. It really feels like certain players are favored no matter what, and others get ignored or even bullied. Parents pay a lot of money and spend hours traveling for practices and tournaments, so it's really disappointing when players don't get treated fairly. Omni has potential to be a great club, but they seriously need to rethink their coaching approach, how they divide playtime, and how they treat their athletes overall. Everyone deserves a fair chance to grow, play, and actually enjoy the sport.

Without a doubt, the best move we ever made for the progression of our 9 year old son's game…read more After considerable time and money spent at another baseball academy and not seeing progress commensurate to the money we were putting in, we decided to see what else might be out there. Jack had developed a sweet swing. I just couldn't get over the feeling that he was leaving so much power potential on the table and it just didn't seem anyone could figure out how to crack it. To make it click for him. I came across Three Gear's sign near my neighborhood and checked out their website. They teach a hitting pattern that I'd come across on YouTube, but didn't understand, other than that it was non-traditional, controversial, but whose champion was a dude who personally worked with Aaron Judge and insisted it was the pattern of many of the game's greatest hitters, even if they themselves didn't realize it. I was intrigued. We signed up for the offered free lesson and in just ONE CLASS, Jack was hitting harder than I've ever seen him hit, and it was one after the other. Bryan took him aside in class, gave him individual attention, and told him to forget just a couple "fundamentals" of traditional hitting, showing him instead how to feel which muscles are responsible for launching. I don't pretend to understand how the HLP pattern works exactly. I'm still learning. So is Jack. He's a work in progress. All I know is that he picked up enough in just that first several minutes with Schmidty that he was letting loose like I'd never seen. A couple months in and his confidence and love of the game have absolutely taken off. His exit velo has taken off. Their drills are just go go go, and Jack's just lapping it up. I believe in what Three Gear's doing. I don't know if it works for everyone, but it's working for my son and we're all in!

Last minute practice cancellations, tournament cancellations, lack of communication. We had practice and tournaments scheduled for the second half of the season and then an entire month of practice was cancelled right after we paid $350. We decided a week later we would be leaving the team because of the unstable future of the team. TJ said he would pay me back the $350 but only when he had the money (how could you spend money on tournaments and coaching if they literally haven't even happened?). This money was supposed to be for the second half of the season. I have been reaching out for 9 months trying to get my money back that he has promised he would send me, but he has only sent $225 of my $350. He has finally blocked my number and Evan refuses to respond to me. UPDATE: Both TJ and Evan have blocked by phone number. I don't wish any ill intention, I'd just like the remaining $125 back. TJ is an incredible coach that takes the time to not only help my son succeed on the court but off it as well with grades. Because of his mentorship, my son played high school varsity basketball as a sophomore and has improved every year. He also has taken school seriously with a 4.0 GPA and a lot of that has to do with Coach TJs "grades to play" rule. Also a big shout out to Coach Evan who has been my son's coach for tournament play the last 2 seasons and does a great job. After reading the 1 review on here I was compelled to add my review to contradict what that person is saying. On a final note, Clutch Elite is one of the more affordable programs out there for AAU and the two main coaches (TJ and Evan) aren't doing this simply to make money and milk the players familes so they can live lavish lifestyles. Both of them have other full time jobs besides coaching. They care about the kids and it shows with their coaching and mentorship.

Good luck if your door daughter gets arm or knee injuries due to the intensive training schedule…read morecausing adverse effects on a teen's growth plates. A good coach teaches his player how to do an exercise to avoid injury. Instead of teaching my son how to lift weights to avoid injury, Coach Mike Hacker would ridicule my son in front of his peers and yell "that's why you have injuries, because you're doing it wrong." Mike did not show him the "correct" way to lift the weight. There was another instance where my son and one of his peers were spotting each other on some weights. Coach Mike yelled at the other boy to get out of his weight room for talking to my son and told him he won't bother sending my son out of the room because my son is not worth it. There are numerous instances of mental and verbal abuse from Coach Mike on the field as well. None of these instances were constructive but personal. I will not mention them in order to protect my son's identity. We have read about coaches who ridicule and verbally abuse certain players on their team causing the player to quit the sport for good. We never imagined this would be the case with our 13 year old. Our son had played successfully since he was 5 years old and played Majors prior to coming to BPA. We cannot express the sadness we have our son has left the sport because of his experience at BPA. We believe Coach Mike had a personal disliking for our son since he had expected to get a starting pitcher but got a kid with injuries due to growth plates not being fully fused yet. Before coming to BPA we were warned by a previous player about how he also had been verbally abused and ridiculed by Coach Mike, but we didn't believe him. We wish we had. We remember Coach Mike naming other ball clubs in the area and telling us how bad they were, that BPA was the best, even better than playing for the high school he previously taught at. We now believe this was to isolate players from considering playing for any other competing baseball club in the area. Regrettably, we convinced our son to stay longer than he should have because of this. Great leaders motivate young players to succeed by being fair, positive, patient, sincere, concerned and honest. Although Coach Mike knows baseball, these characteristics were nowhere to be found. Parents beware! There are no protections under the law for verbal and mental abuse of your adoloscent in extracarricular sports. Don't take a chance with your child's self esteem and baseball future. There are other baseball clubs in the area that develop young, successful college recruitments.
