I really appreciated this visit and the professionalism and consideration while listening to what we had going on to determine whether we needed an allergy test, and what our next steps are. In the end we didn't need an allergist, so Dr. Yoon gave us some recommendations for next actions meeting with an ENT, and even proactively forwarded all results to our ENT. We were probably in and out within 45 minutes, and that includes the 15 minute allergy test. The stand-out from the visit was Dr. Yoon explaining how all of the pricing would work, including our insurance, before the test. I greatly appreciated this, and wish every place did it. They use the ZocDoc service for booking online and uploading insurance information ahead of time. I found this pretty convenient. It's pretty clear walking through the steps as well. We'll definitely return, I can't recommend Dr. Yoon and the practice enough. read more

Very disheartened and disappointed by my experience with Dr. Yoon today. It was clear that before he even entered the exam room to meet me that he had determined what he felt the issue was going to be and came in with printed educational materials that were not applicable. Based on this predetermined judgment, he was unwilling to consider options outside of this idea, regardless of the information I attempted to present him. Multiple times, Dr. Yoon was condescending and firmly correcting the information I tried to share with him based on diagnoses/testing completed by other providers (and was why I was seeking this second opinion). Without actually looking at the visible symptoms I was describing and were present during the appointment (as he only wanted to see old pictures of the problem), didn't look at the other providers documents but felt comfortable interpreting their diagnosis based on their use of allergy medications for treatment, and no matter how many times I attempted to communicate my concerns he dismissed my need for treatment and pushed me off to get another opinion from someone else. He showed me an image of what he had determined I had based on the other providers terms (which looks nothing like my symptoms) and then pointed to a poster of an image in the office (actually similar to what I have) while telling me that these symptoms would be the only time he would run tests. Now looking at the visit note, the primary diagnosis he lists is just that, the one disorder he said he would test for, but denied needing to do tests to save me money and just referred me elsewhere. When I scheduled this appointment, I communicated I not only wanted to seek out an understanding of current symptoms but also was interested in seeing if Dr. Yoon could address the possibility of an MCAS diagnosis after exploring the potential of this with my cardiologist. Bringing this up with Dr. Yoon was, what I thought, appropriate to discuss given that the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology recognize this syndrome. However, as soon as MCAS left my mouth, Dr. Yoon immediately responded how this diagnoses is made up and simply a group of symptoms put together that he will absolutely not address or discuss further. The one star is for the kind staff that Dr. Yoon has at his office and were a pleasure to work with. read more

Short: Finally, a good Allergist in the Ashburn/Broadlands area! Dr. Yoon is one of the only allergists around that offers modified cluster immunotherapy, which is a type of rapid build-up (exactly what I wanted). Also, I feel like Dr. Yoon is working on the front lines alongside his staff and I think it is fantastic. He is easy to get in touch with directly and thoroughly answers questions. Solid 5 star experience so far. Detailed: I noticed Ashburn Allergy had recently opened and decided to give them a call. Dr. Yoon answered the phone. He was friendly, professional, and thoroughly answered all of my questions. I decided to make an appointment for allergy testing on that call. The office was easy to find and clean. Every staff member was personable and welcoming. I did not have to wait and was taken back immediately. Dr. Yoon and his team listened, answered questions, and did not come off as condescending or impatient. Allergy test at Ashburn Allergy (vs. my last allergy test in an ENT office): Ashburn Allergy uses skin prick testing versus skin endpoint titration (SET). The skin pricks were done on my back versus my upper arm with SET. Skin pricks were done 5 at a time versus one injection at a time with SET. The allergy testing process at Ashburn Allergy seemed more efficient/faster even though they tested for more allergies than the ENT. I had very high expectations going into the appointment and was not let down. Dr. Yoon and staff provided the experience that I want but never receive from other doctors (especially primary care providers). My only concern is that as his practice grows the service level might go down. I hope that is not the case and will update this review in a few months. read more

Honestly would give negative stars if I could. Dr. Yoon was rude and dismissive. I've been taking my child to Johns Hopkins for years for severe food allergies and wanted to find a local practice. From the second he walked in, Dr. Yoon was combative and kept challenging what the Johns Hopkins doctor had been doing with us for the past 10 years. Our situation is different in that our child is physically unable to complete an oral food challenge, but that is all Dr. Yoon kept proposing...over and over. He has a linear way of thinking and needs to educate himself of customized patient care. He is not inclusive and has a horrible bedside manner. Would not recommend any parent bring their child here. I had an appointment at Ashburn Allergy about 4 weeks ago and at first I was very happy with the service. Dr. Yoon gave me thorough information to help with eczema and I also drew blood to be tested for allergies. Dr. Yoon prescribed me Eucrisa for my eczema and told me that if I got it from Loudon Pharmacy it would be the cheapest place I could possibly get it ($35). He was very adamant about the fact that it would cost $600+ even with my insurance if I got it anywhere else. This turned out to be completely untrue and l I was able to pay $10 for a tube of the medication at my local pharmacy with a free coupon that I downloaded directly from the pharmaceutical company. This price was wildly cheaper than the $600 he guaranteed I would have to pay if I didn't do it through their pharmacy. So after this I was already unhappy with the service and felt mislead by the doctor. Secondly, the doctor assured me that my blood test results would be ready and he would call me within 1-2 weeks. One month passed and I still never received the call with my results. After calling them to ask why it was taking so long they informed me that the lab never did any work with my blood and that I would need to draw my blood once again. However they did not offer to do the blood drawing themselves and referred me directly to the lab. I would absolutely not recommend Ashburn Allergy to anybody that does not want their time wasted and to be deceived by professionals. read more

Ashburn Allergy is phenomenal. I have been going here for about two years now. I did allergy shots all throughout my childhood and started them again as an adult. They gave me the option of accelerating the initial process to get to my maintenance dose quicker. Even though I couldn't take them up on it due to my own schedule constraints is was a great option. The office staff is phenomenal and treats everyone like family. They have a vested interest in you as a person. The office itself is always clean and organized. Dr. Yoon frequently comes out front and engages patients in conversation. You won't find a better allergist and staff in my opinion. read more
