I arrived at the park a few minutes before the event started and was able to experience it's beauty. First, there is no playground or basketball courts, but it is rather more of a community park where people can get together. For example, they had a Little Free Library, benches where people were taking and a large open area where you can have catch! Many kids were having a catch or climbing their large trees. Around the entire park is a long, well-maintained cement trail! It is great to just walk on it and see the beautiful park, which has tons of flowers and statues! You can even use the trail at night as it has lights in it! One statue showed a boy and girl sitting on a bench together. That pretty much represents what the park is! There is also a reflexology walk. Though, you have to take your shoes off to properly use it. The rally itself was very nice and showed hope for America. U.S. Congressman Dwight Evans as well as State Representatives Daylin Leach and Mary Jo Daley spoke! This park is also run by a group called Friend's of Linwood Park who keeps it clean and up to date. They also host tons of events including Movie Nights and a day where exotic animals came! Altogether, this is an amazing park to have fun at!

This pool, completely renovated in 2004, is large enough to have fun but small enough to be able to spot your young 'un from anywhere you sit. The entrance is through Vernon Young Park, another gem with a full kids' playground, basketball & tennis courts, a large playing field for baseball, flag football, soccer, etc. and the Ardmore Avenue Community Center. So, if the young un's don't want to swim, they can play too. When you enter, you pass through either the male or female changing areas complete with lockers and showers as well as restrooms. There are two pools - a good sized toddler pool with a zero step entry, water spouts and a water mushroom play feature. Maximum depth 18 inches. Then there is the 'larger' pool, also with a zero step entry, a water slide and maximum depth of 5'. Separating the two are a low fence, some bushes, and a shade awning over some grass. Surrounding both pools are picnic tables with umbrellas. Water toys are permitted in the baby pool area. The pools are staffed with lifeguards who change station regularly to stay alert. There is no snack bar, which is in some ways a blessing (no $9 fries!). Many of the local restaurants deliver 'to the pool', and if you want you can easily leave and walk to many of them too. Parking? Well, that's the one star off. It's street only, and it can be a bit of a challenge. I don't want them to make a parking lot by any means, but it does take away from the experience. Also, you bring your own chairs, blankets, etc, which can make for a haul. Maybe the Township will get wise and start a business to rent chairs on site (hint, hint). Now, the thing that makes this really GREAT. The cost to join? For a family of four, residents of the Township, about $70. For the season. Really. Over 65 year old residents are free. Yes, really. That is not a typo. It's under a hundred dollars. A year. Well, a summer. The pool is open Memorial Day - Labor Day. (Residents of Narberth Borough can join but at a higher rate as can a limited number of residents in Ardmore, Haverford Township, again at a higher rate.) Like I said, one of the Great Deals of the Century. Here in wonderful Ardmore.

Beyond the concerts, this gazebo comes with a ton of park life amenities tucked within a tiny space. There's a playground for kids, a community building with public restrooms, benches to lounge in, elaborate greenery, and some hidden tennis courts. for a park so tiny it really works in a lot! The summer concerts really are the best part that has been going on for decades, and they have a passionate local following. Now that Rising Sun Presents has also stepped in to help with the booking, it has also ensured that some known acts blend into the local flavor.

I used to walk my dog through here, he liked the lush green lawn and I liked the benches. The real fun here is the summer concert series. They have shows through the summer with some great acts including Dar Williams, and this year one of my favorites, Hoots and Hellmouth. Tickets are cheap, you bring your own chair or blanket, picnic, and hang out on a nice summer night and chill to some good tunes. Most people BYO but you need to be sly about it. Otherwise the Ardmore Music Hall usually has some of their fine bartenders on hand serving drinks. Lucky to have this a few blocks from my house and take advantage of it regularly, check out the schedule! https://www.brynmawrtwilightconcerts.com/

This is a very well kept moderately sized park in the urban village of Ardmore. It's down the street from the Ardmore Library, Post Office and the PALM (Positive Aging Lower Merion) Senior Center. The park has four distinct areas. First, the playground, which faces Ardmore Avenue and is directly outside the pool entrance. It has a high fence (so no toddlers can easily take off, as they are likely to do), some fairly new play structures and lots of wood chips. There are also a few benches and shade trees. Then there are the basketball courts, which run games pretty regularly, both league and pick-up games. They are in good shape, have bleachers and shade awnings over the bleachers. Nice touch. There are some tennis courts, also high fenced, in very good shape. Then there is the 'lower' playing fields with two baseball diamonds and lots of grass. In the warmer months there are many baseball, soccer and flag football games going on basically every afternoon and all weekend. It's only downfall is that it is a more urban park, meant to be walked to, so if you're parking there it can be a challenge. Ardmore Avenue is one of the busier streets so it's not a quiet, tranquil place, especially when the adjacent pool is open. It is, however, well kept and well used, and has something for just about everyone (except the person looking for a quiet spot to read - not happening here).
