I was very lucky to have a friend from Estacada recommend Carrie and Purrfect Paw. Carrie did a wonderful job. Though my dog is small, she can be difficult to groom and had gone too long since her last groom. I have also had past groomers tell me (and know from my own experience) that she can really fight when getting her nails clipped (I actually had a groomer who wouldn't work with her anymore...). Carrie said she had no problems. This was also among the best, if not the very best, grooming job my dog has even gotten. I would highly recommend Carrie and Purrfect Paw!

Cost advertised for large kennel is $55 per night. They stayed one nite, bill was $264. She insisted that she gave us a discount and the cost should be $55/dog for one kennel and charged us for two nights. Dogs were there about 25 hours. Unbelievable. Charges were refunded and she told us never to come back. She could not justify her charges to what was advertised on her website. Also, entering in the front door it had a very strong urine smell. Not clean at all. Just beware... Owner is not honest.... I have two other witnesses.

I'm on the fence about staying a client. This clinic is in my town and therefore convenient. And…read morethey do surgeries and other procedures our mobile vet doesn't offer. But the prices are quite high, at least 20 percent more than the east-side Portland area median for small animal veterinary clinics, i'd estimate. And this is Estacada, not Lake Oswego! I'm not yet convinced the quality of care is worth it. Here's why. In summer 2020, i paid $600+ per dog for our 2 young livestock guardian dogs to be neutered (even though they were UTD on vaccines, had had recent exams by our mobile vet). It was pretty clear that despite the large number of LGDs in the Estacada area, the staff wasn't prepared to handle them. Still Covid protocol, so we weren't permitted to walk them into the clinic. Our boys are good natured, but they are NOT pets, and you can't hand them off to a strange human and expect them to politely follow that stranger into the clinic. They're so big we have to transport them in our horse trailer. I understand the necessity of Covid protocols, but honestly it wasn't safe to send a 90 lb vet tech out to gather even one of them off the street, much less both at once. These boys are huge - well over 100 lbs - and if they got scared or saw a squirrel, the tech would've been skiing along the asphalt. I was really worried someone would get hurt. In the fall of 2020, I paid over $1800 for a feline dental with minimal bloodwork. This animal was UTD on vaccines, had had very recent bloodwork and exam by our mobile vet. When the same cat was critically ill (unrelated to the dental) a couple months later, this clinic was too busy to see him and recommended we try an emergency vet. But our mobile vet was able to fit him in that day and give him the critical care he needed. Too bad the mobile vet doesn't do surgeries or they would be our only choice for small animal care. The type of care they provide is what we need - caring and practical. The one and only time I've gotten to speak with the attending vet (by phone) at this clinic, she was caring and offered well-considered advice about our barn cat who had had the $1800 dental and seemed to have some food allergies. But i'd feel a lot more comfortable, especially paying top dollar, if I could actually talk to the vet as a regular part of my animals' care. For example, one of our LGDs appeared to have some lingering effects from anesthesia after his neuter surgery (oddly aggressive behavior and seemed "out of it"), but I didn't feel like I could call the clinic and have a frank conversation with the vet about it, thought I'd probably just get a tech unfamiliar with LGDs. Or worse, get a recommendation to euthanize. Instead, we just waited it out, and he was his normal self after about 48 hrs. But if that was my equine vet or the mobile vet? I would have called and been able to reach an attending vet relatively quickly who knew me and my animals. I absolutely don't mind paying fair prices for quality care, but in return, I expect to be able to form a long-term relationship with the clinic and attending vet.

Single vet will not take any new clients. Not very helpful to local residents as a result.read more
