The overall look and feel of the store is indistinguishable to any Sainsbury's Local I have visited, they also support Smart Shop, where you are able to use the Sainsbury's Smartshop app to scan items as you're walking around the store, and then use your phone to pay and leave. The only difference I noticed about this store compared to other Sainsbury's Local locations, was how the milk was displayed on a metal milk crate, rather than the traditional open refrigerated shelf. The store was reasonably clean I did notice the selection of to-go food and drink to be quite pricey, perhaps this is to push people towards purchasing a meal deal. (With a lack of gluten-free options on here other than an awful seeded bread sandwich if you're lucky, this isn't something I'd go for) They do close at 10 pm here, which could catch out-of-town visitors off guard, as Sainsbury's Local stores are usually open until 11 pm, the extra hour is crucial for me so it is a shame they close this store early, especially as their is a lack of alternatives nearby. 3*

Spar is my local shop as its only round the corner, it's great to grab all your food essentials…read morewhat you need for your house but as its only a small convenience spar you cannot do your weekly shop here, it's spaced out quite well considering the size of it, some of the staff are very friendly and polite but on a few occasions I've been served by a rude staff member, but overall it is not a bad little shop for grabbing quick items that you need.

The staff are very efficient, as well as being friendly, and queues move fast. There is a good selection of newspapers and magazines, cold drinks, ice creams, sweets and assorted grocery items. You could picnic from this shop alone, although I'd recommend a sandwich from the French bakery over the road topped up with drinks and snacks here. In addition to the varied stock here, there are usually some bargains: 1.5 litre bottles of Diet Pepsi for 99p last time we visited. Highly recommended. It says something about the range and diversity of goods here that the entire village seemed to be in the store when Tesco was closed for refurbishment.
