I first found TBBC on groupon and did not intend on joining long term or even extending my…read moremembership, but after having the experience I did I decided TBBC would be a great investment! (Unfortunately I am not a member anymore bc I moved) but everyone should give TBBC a try! Here is why: Total Body Boot Camp was the absolute best fitness experience of my life. I joined TBBC in March of 2018, I really wanted some help back into fitness as I stopped working out for 6 months. Being rusty I was a bit nervous for my first class with Kathy and was immediately welcomed with a warm smile and introduced to all the members. As for the classes, each class is different and a ton of fun! Don't get me wrong you're still working hard but they make it fun for us! Another thing that really stuck out to me was their ability to assist students with moderations and correct movements that we were doing incorrect with ease and reasoning! Also each instructor has a different style, which works wonders on the body. Coaches (they may have changed since I moved) : Kathy, Bill H, Bill and KC ! All incredible! Bill H who is also the owner is hands on and even wrote a book! I shared a picture of my 1 month progress with TBBC. I BARELY changed my diet. All the progress was with the help of TBBC, I tried to attend the classes 2-3 times per week! Worth it!

Prior to joining, I had no idea of what type of exercise to do or how to do it in conjunction with…read moremy physical shape and limitations due to two back surgeries. The individualized coaching and modifications have made a huge difference. The scheduled sessions add accountability. I feel I have to show up! I do have may fights with myself about going but I always go to my class. The the positivity of the coaches and members has been phenomenal. I have never felt like the most out of shape person in the room or out of place. When I first started 2 1/2 months ago I couldn't get up and down from the floor. I feel so much better now and have stuck with if in spite of starting a new job with longer hours, and some family issues. I finally decided to put myself on the list. I haven't been great with the food but that is also getting better and it is a process. Bottom line is I haven't given up. So thank you to Billy and his team. It is working and I'm feeling alot better and stronger.

So, I came here to pay for a one day pass. I walk in and it's MUCH bigger and far nicer than the…read moreUFC in Chinatown. They have tons of equipment that you can have a normal workout on machines. They have an area with tables and chairs to hang out on. Theres an area with a long wall of mirrors you can do your own workout on, and obviously the cage and a big area with just punching bags. The bathrooms were super clean. They do only have 3 shower stalls, so I can't imagine how busy it is in the morning. The sauna room is really small. The front desk guy was friendly to us. I mean for what they have and the amount of classes, I say this is definitely worth it, compared to another UFC gym I've seen.

The manager, Jason Gwaltney, said he would correct it & I should have my credit in a few days. Over a week goes by, still no credit. I call my credit card company to dispute the charges. Today I got a phone call from the gym and one from corporate to let me know that I owe them $300 plus late fees. Jason was not returning my phone calls but when corporate transferred me he picked up. Instead of apologizing about not handling the situation he revoked my membership. I got confirmation of the cancelation within minutes. Too bad he couldn't handle my credit this quickly. Please google Jason Gwaltney...I would love for everyone to see his mug shot and why he was arrested.

Possibly the nicest front desk/SA's in all of the land. They do a wonderful job of making you feel…read morewelcome here. Great class schedule, consistently good attendance, coaches with a great following. One of my favorite Long Island Orange Theory locations. The layout of this studio is spacious. (I miss the 45 minute template offered here but I am not complaining, if you see this please add it back though) Huge parking lot out front.

I saw two friends post on their social media about going to Orangetheory locations in Queens and…read morewhen I saw this one open up, I decided to check it out. For the past couple of months, I've felt that I needed to better my health and my horrendous stamina and since you're allowed to try your first class for free, I was like, why not? I've tried doing those "at-home workouts" and failed miserably because I would just be lazy and say "I'll do the workout tomorrow" which would drag on and on...until a year passed. Oops. By the way, I am NOT a gym person. For me, I find going to the gym boring, redundant and I also have no motivation. I prefer more of a hiking or dancing salsa as a way of "working out". The thing I liked about OTF (Orangetheory Fitness) is that even though you're in a group, you still have a coach telling you what to work on as a group and will help you individually with your form throughout. You work at your own pace because you know what your body can handle. During the class, your monitor will sync to the screen above and you can see how you're doing. So far I have taken 3 classes (the first one being the free trial class) with Craig and Ariana and they have both been great coaches! Each class I took had probably a rough estimate of 15-20 people (different ages, different body types). You're also not doing the same set of exercises every class, they change it up. Even though 60 minutes seems like a long time, the hour will fly by because you're constantly doing something/rotating on the different machines/weights area. I started with the 8 classes/month package ($119) since I'm a newbie and so far that seems to work well with 2 classes a week with time to rest my muscles in between. They have an app you can download (they will walk you through it if you need help) and see your stats (they email this to you also) as well as sign up for classes right in the app which is very convenient. The front desk staff have always been very nice and helpful. There are lockers for you to put your stuff in while you're in class and they have showers (I think 2?) and bathrooms (I think 2?). There is a water fountain in the front and in the back (where class is) for you to fill up your water bottle. It's conveniently located and there is always parking. So if you're on the fence, sign up for the free class and see how it is! P.S. I realized when I signed up for the package/classes that you need to purchase the OTbeat Burn monitor that goes on your arm and I thought that was a little costly (I think it was $109?) but you do get to keep it. Not sure if you can rent them but I think I read somewhere that it costs $5-$10 each time so if you're taking a few classes, might as well just purchase the monitor.
