I have been taking my daughter here since the week she was born. Our doctor has been great! As a…read morefirst time parent there have been a few scares of sickness and me just wanting her to be checked out and they never had a problem squeezing us in. I will say the decor of the office is very outdated and not modern. And scheduling in the front office depending on who you ask always differs. Example: when leaving an appointment one day we were told our doctor would be gone a certain week so we had to schedule around that. We had a vacation that popped up so we needed to change what day we went in to the week the doctor would be gone but just see a different doctor. Called to change it and the person booked us for a day on the week my doctor was supposedly supposed to be gone? Super strange but we roll with it because our doctor is so great. Overall I'd recommend to anyone looking for a pediatrician! All of the doctors we have encountered have been very nice

Very disappointed. When we spoke to the doctor, doctor had a tendency to interrupt and sometimes…read morehad a snippy response to our concerns . At every appointment, there was at least a 30-40 minute wait. The doctor knows the job incredibly well. However, this doctor needs to work on the communication skills. This clinic charges $15 per child for medical records, even when you pick them up. I get the impression it's an exit fee. After nearly 3 years, we grew tired and decided to change pediatricians and go someplace else.

Dr. Martinson is wonderful. Absolutely one of the best doctors you could ever want for your kids…read more She cares, is very thoughtful, is super knowledgeable, and both my girls look up to her. That said, she's now splitting patients with another doctor kind of out of nowhere. And on top of that, and the reason for this low review, is the "$150 administration fee" for our kids that basically was announced in a letter in late October and is due in December (!!!). Who does that? No doctor's office has ever charged me money for doing NOTHING--it's like a "membership." This is literally a fee for nothing. The letter lists things they've always done and is like "well, now we're charging." It's a fee because they are doctors and can apparently charge a fee. So long story short, Dr. Martinson is a 5-star doctor. This is a 1-star decision. The staff is a bit hit or miss--we've had folks threaten to send us to a collection agency for being a bit late on payment while trying to sort things out with insurance and folks that are wonderful. But good lord, you basically drop another doctor in who we've never met and tell us that's our new co-primary care doctor, and charge us $150 for doing nothing. Not a fan of those decisions at all.

If you would like to be nickeled and dimed, by all means, have at it. This practice charges for…read moreforms to be completed, charges to transfer files, as well as an annual fee per child to be a patient. From my ped. in CO, to CA, and back to IN, this is the first time I have ever had such a negative experience with a doctor office and it is time to take my children elsewhere after 6 years here. Charging an annual fee to be a patient is absurd, especially when you go in once a year for an annual. I highly suggest going somewhere else.

So thankful for this place! They specialize in functional medicine and are a team of PAs, MDs, and…read morenurse practitioners that help you get to the root cause of any of your health concerns. Because they aren't in the insurance system, they are able to spend an hour with each patient and can order any tests needed to help you find the root cause to any of your health concerns for lasting, healthy solutions. I found out about this place through my friend who has had many health problems throughout her life. She was on many medications and none of them were working. Her friends recommended coming here and they ran several blood tests, then found that she was deficient in a few key nutrients. She started taking supplementing for that deficiency and it made her medications started absorbing better. She then got off a ton of the extra medications she didn't need and lost twenty pounds in a few months. It was amazing to see as her friend and made me realize that we should all probably get our basic nutrient and mineral levels checked first before we ever get on any medications. I really got the vibe that they support a healthy lifestyle in every way. They offer healthy cooking classes for adults, kids, and families, as well as yoga classes, sauna sessions, and classes on how to manage stress, address hormones, etc. Also - they don't push supplements here and don't care if you buy theirs or not. I went to see NP Emily and she told me that I was low in zinc and probably wouldn't be able to hit ideal levels with just food, so did recommend a zinc supplement (which is surprisingly affordable). She didn't care if I got the one they sell or went to get my own. She said that she doesn't usually recommend many supplements, as most health concerns can be fixed with a natural, whole-foods diet, daily sunshine, working out, and addressing stress. I love that she starts with that approach before taking any other measures. She was so helpful and smart, and offered simple, clear answers to all of my questions. You can become a member here and go to their monthly classes (cooking, yoga, etc) and use their spaces (infrared sauna, etc) in addition to your health appointments, or pay a one-time fee for each appointment. They're on a long wait list at the moment, but you can fill out the form on their website to join the list and they'll reach out. They have a new building in Carmel and it's super nice. One side is the functional medicine and the other side offers esthetics and has the classrooms. Cool idea to combine it all under one roof!

I went to my family doctor, whom I adore, with physical complaints, including weight gain. He said…read moreI must be feeling lousy because of the weight gain, though my autoimmune numbers were up, and I should just try to lose some weight. It was a frustrating answer, since the inability to lose weight was part of the problem. My husband's coworker recommended Amy Nicley, NP, at Excell for Life, since they work on your health through dietary changes and supplements, so I made an appointment. Blood tests galore revealed major inflammation and an autioimmune issue, as well as a problem with my pancreas that prevents me from processing carbs (hence the rapid weight gain!). I never would have known that! While we're continuing to figure out my body's autoimmune issue, I'm already feeling so much better with the dietary changes and supplements we've implemented. I was having heartburn all day, every day, headaches every day---that's all gone! I have far more energy, too. And Amy won't stop looking for answers until my whole system is happy again---no shrugs and, "Let's wait it out," or, "I don't know what to tell you." She's excited to figure this out, like a detective with a thrilling case. I absolutely love that about her! The supplements are a bit pricey, but some are rather exotic compared to what I've taken before (the grocery store variety, you know), so I don't know if they'd be cheaper elsewhere. And there is a $97 out-of-pocket functional medicine fee for each visit (on top of what they bill insurance, I believe), which is a little different. But it's been worth every penny! A side note: many of the medical professionals here were patients here and experienced such great results they just HAD to make their way on staff. Truly, it's that great.
