Mike was exceptional to work with! I was in the process of finding a lender and was referred to him by my real estate agent. I had been in communication with separate lenders through big banks, but due to the pandemic, their guidelines made it almost impossible to find a reasonable loan. I was almost ready to give up on the home mortgage loan application process, but Mike made this process go by with ease! Mike was efficient and extremely quick to respond to all of my questions via email. He was very organized with his checklist of documents needed to start the application process. As soon as my documents were submitted, he was able to find a lender who offered me exactly what I was looking for. The entire process went by quickly, as he was able to close in record time: three weeks! As an added bonus, Mike even covered the lender fee! I was very lucky to have had such a great experience with Mike as my broker! If you're in the market for buying a home and need a broker, please do not hesitate to contact Mike at Ascend Mortgage! read more

Mike is the real deal. I have referred and used his services many times. The communication is key and quick responses. If you are seasoned and dealt with financial institutions and know the hassle, lack of communication, errors in your needs, and having you feel like a number file.....yup then Mike is for you. The process is a drag but when you have someone who is on top of their craft you don't need to worry to much you almost forget this is happening very smooth every time even though snags come up Mike has the answers and process down perfect. You will not be disappointed. read more

My wife and I were referred to Mike from a close friend. We went through our first refi just 6 moths ago. Mike said he would reach out if he thought we could better our situation, and he did. Mike made everything so simple. Mike has a great way of taking care of you without the hassle. Mike really cares about what's best for you and your overall outlook. I could go on and on... I was frustrated working with mortgage brokers such as Loan Depot/Rocket Mortgage. I felt I had fallen into a numbers game. I found a local broker Mike Youssef who is personable and found time to listen to my concerns He took the time to explain how the process would work and made calls to move things along with the lender. We have just closed on a second home and working to refinance an investment property. I just sent my sister his contact information. read more

It was a pleasure working with Mike and his staff. It was convenient and close by so the process was pretty seamless. Mike saved my house and my secured me with financial comfort with the refinance he set up for my property. I was stuck with a high interest rate, and as a single mom, I was strapped in every way. Mike never let me feel hopeless and guided me through every step and made sure I got the best rate out there. He was incredibly patient and the biggest cheerleader. On a professional level, Mike has a network of people who helped get me great rates on other aspects of the house such as my insurance. I was paying two times the rate he found me!! Simply put, I trust him. Trust in the business world goes a long way. He is honest, patient and works round the clock and is unbelievably credible. read more

As a first time home buyer, the entire process would have been overwhelming. But...Mike (who I believe is the owner, but also is the agent/broker) was a complete professional. He really treated me like a friend throughout the experience. He explained every detail in layman's term so my wife and I would understand. More importantly, he was very knowledgeable in the peninsula area, which actually led me to a home we bought in San Carlos. (we couldnt be more happier with the location). If nobody knows....today's market is soooooo competitive in the peninsula right now. I truly think Mike was the reason we got the place, based on an offer he had to present to the selling agent. We were able to get in super early to present our offer, and got the house!!! Even when the lender took a few extra days to close, he went above and beyond to ensure I was taken care of with my living situation. I'm actually in the process of re-financing already, which is why I am writing this review. Mike called me to let me know I could save $300/mo based on the rates today, versus what I had back in July. I know he probably makes commission, but this kind of pro-activeness to help us is really admirable. I would specifically recommend Mike from Ascend for loans or as your real estate agent. read more

Mike Youssef is honestly a rock-star realtor. He is attentive and knowledgeable, and just all around a great guy to work with. He helped my wife and I with our first real estate purchase while working around our very backward schedules. He is one guy that takes care of both the Real Estate side, as well as, the Mortgage side. Which makes the process a lot easier. I was referred to him from both of my brothers that used him to buy their houses, and would definitely refer others to him in the future! read more

Second time refinancing two properties at the same time with Mike and team. Great rates and excellent communication.

If you need a mortgage definitely see Mike. Being a broker, he has access to WAY more products/institutions than banks or CU's, and working with him is actually easier than all the online-based brokerages. Working with Mike, you really get the sense that he is treating your mortgage as his own, meaning you can be absolutely sure he'll find the best product for your needs. Then after securing a great mortgage, he makes the entire process complete painless. It really was the best of both worlds - great deal on a mortgage (rate, closing costs, etc) with a personalized, VIP experience. My only regret is not working with Mike sooner. I highly recommend seeing Mike for all your mortgage needs. read more

I always believed in "Right People, Right Place, Right Time". We were so fortunate to have found Mike at the right time. We are now a proud house owner, in the bay area, because of Mike. He was a phenomenal agent! His dedication to finding us our first home was more than we ever expected. He was always on our side working to make our house purchase as simple and successful as possible. The best part about working with Mike was that he was always more focused on answering our questions, giving us good advice, and finding homes that met our needs than he was on closing a deal. I would like to thank Mike for his incredible patience with me. Throughout the past several months, Mike has been there every step of the way. He has always answered every call or email no matter what time of day or night it was. His professionalism, mentorship, knowledge, honesty, and hard work ethic are much respected and appreciated. Michael at Ascend Mortgage was great! We found him through word of mouth by a friend of ours who highly recommended him, as we would do the same for our friends. We recently refinanced through him and he was able to get us a great rate. He is very professional and efficient. He was able to answer any questions we had right away via email at all hours of the day; mornings, nights and even weekends. With our crazy schedules, he was able to set up an appointment with the underwriter to come to our house at 10pm! We appreciate this effort very much! Michael is also extremely knowledgeable, as mortgages are extremely confusing for most of us :) He does a great job organizing and outlining all costs of your loan in an easy-to-read & understand front cover page of your loan documents. Everything can also be read and emailed to you online. Very convenient! Thanks to Mike, this process of refinancing can be done easily! :) read more

We were absolutely gifted to find Mike. Being self employed and in a situation making it impossible to get a loan from a bank, Mike got us an incredible refinance with much better rates than what the big traditional banks were offering. His services is top notch! He has always answered our calls including evenings and on weekends. He genuinely cared strongly to help find the best loans available and guided us every step of the way. There was never a time where we did not have our questions answered and he would always look for the best options to suit our specific needs. Now I would say that it rare, which completely describes Mike. Ascend Mortgage deserves a 10 out of 10 stars!!!! Mike, Owner/Broker, was awesome. As first time home buyers, the process of buying a home can be extremely confusing, but Mike made the process smooth, simple and easy to understand. He not only jumped through hoops to lock us in at the best rate, but kept us informed on a daily basis, multiple times a day in fact, on the status of the loan and other info needed to ensure we could close on the property in 30 days. He is extremely organized, professional, and more importantly follows through!!! When we had questions and/or concerns, Mike always responded in a timely manner with honest answers and great advice. We were not sure if we would even be approved since I am a sole proprietor for the past year and a half but Mike made it happen. We are happy we locked in our rates for 30 years and no more interest games the only time we go back to Mike is when rates go down again!
