The employees are super helpful , items are organized easy to find. The prices can't be beat and the quality of items are excellent. Each time I have been people are sitting in the parking lot or standing at the door waiting for the store to open so get there early. read more

I've always liked this thrift store. I believe it is affiliated with Asbury United Methodist Church on Hughes Road. When we moved a friend's parents into a nearby apartment we were able to purchase nearly every item they needed from Asbury at a deep discount! Selection was good, the store was well organized and although it was at the end of the business day on. Saturday we were able to quickly load up the car with our scores. Thanks Asbury! read more

OVERPRICED! The prices on the furniture is OUTRAGEOUS and if it doesn't have a price you can ask and get two totally different OVERPRICED quotes. The staff isn't friendly at all which is so surprising considering (they picked to work with the public) only to make the experience terrible. I've never been to a thrift store with prices this high, consignment shops yes but not a thrift store. it's sad use to be the best place to go now id just say stay away. read more

This place is hard to rate. They have tons of stuff, it's really packed to the gills! They have a great book selection, old and newer electronics, furniture, clothing, etc. Their back storage area is similarly packed to the rafters, so more stuff is constantly waiting to come out. I've noticed they have to throw away a lot. The parking lot is a bit awkward to enter/exit, with the main parking in the rear. The prices are okay, some things are reasonable and some are more like the thrift boutique style pricing. The vibe inside is pretty weird. They'll occasionally have newer employees who are friendly but the cashiers are usually really really rude. They have limits on how many books you can buy (8) which is fun when you find a good series. They sometimes like to quiz me when I'm buying something, like they get a bit accusatory and ask me the ages of my children (I don't have kids), or ask me what I'm going to do with the thing I'm buying. It's a really weird tone, I've had the ladies get huffy and start arguing that I can't buy something. Once I checked out with a full basket and the lady huffed and scowled and yelled, "You know it's going to be full price!" It's so uncomfortable. I am not sure why they're so angry or suspicious. So while I love thrifting, I usually avoid this store. read more

We were in town visiting family and stopped in. The store was extremely clean and well organized!! The staff is amazing and super friendly and helpful. We bought a huge mantle and 2 young men helped us load it and I have to say they had the best manners!!!! so grateful we stopped In and will be back when we travel back to Madison!! read more

Hear Ye Hear Ye, Asbury Thrift Store (AST)is the best, at least I felt that way until today. After a long day of teleworking I decided it was time for some retail therapy, so off to AFS I go. As usual I head straight to the back of the store where the household goods are displayed. I was looking for some door knobs, like the ones I had purchased earlier, no such luck. But just so happens the head of a snowman caught my attention. Upon further inspection I discovered it was a Christmas tree topper so cute i thought, it was new and still in the box. What a nice gift for my daughter and her family I thought as I headed to the register to finalize my purchase. The kindly began to ring up my purchases and when presented with Christmas tree topper she questioned the cashier working next to her about the price, I'll refer to her as Cashier #2. Moving on, Cashier #2 asked me where I got the Christmas tree topper from, and I told her from the rear of the store (I really think someone picked it up with the intent to purchase it and changed their mind). Cashier #2 spoke with no reservations THAT BELONGS TO ANN! ITS NOT FOR SALE! I kindly abided and moved forward with my purchase, absent the Christmas tree topper. She was too loud and aggressive in her tone for me. I have seen thrift store drama and try to avoid it. Humm....I am thinking now, if and employee is going to make a purchase then do so like the rest of the ATS shoppers, make the purchase and remove the item from the floor, right? I wonder how much Ann paid for the Christmas tree topper. read more

Not friendly and very rude. Too crowded between everything they have in a very tiny place. Way over priced and they don't accept a debit or credit card unless it's over $5! I get why but post a sign other then the one that was covered up on the counter at the check out! If I knew this I wouldn't have spent so much time in the books looking for kids books and they didn't have what I was looking for! So overcrowded that if the fire marshal would go in there, they would be shut down for lack of walkways or even the ADA as a wheelchair wouldn't be an to get through! read more

Nice place! There's always something you'd like to take home, and best of all, everything's under $100! The only thing I hate is the hours. They're only open like 6 hours on the weekdays, and only 5 on Saturdays. I'm disappointed, because I've seen smaller businesses that are open longer. But besides that, it's good! read more

Usually I have a really great experience with this store, but I was shopping on Black Friday today, and a African-American woman tried to charge me $10 for a dress which the original price tag said was $20 new and the black Friday discount is 50% off so she wanted full retail price at a thrift store! Isn't that a little bit too pricey? read more
