He seemed hesitant to use a straight razor to shave my sides or even do a neck shave. Just a buzzer which is close, but not as clean as a straight razor. He cut my top uneven with scissors which I know I didn't ask for. Since I was so tired after work it was too late when he started. I asked for a buzz cut, not sure why he even used scissors at all. The rest of the shop seems awesome and the other barbers seem to know their customers. Love the music and vibe, definitely a barbershop. I want to give them another chance but not with the same barber, who seemed like the newbie in the shop. He was very polite though and nice, but I'll never let him cut my hair again.

That being said, this was the worst haircut I've ever had. No amount of hospitality can make up for the absolute mess done to my head. In the barbers defense, my haircut may have been a little too new age for him, and he may only be used to simple clipper cuts. I wanted a haircut similar to Cody Garbrandt. A clean fade with a hard part to one side. I had a few pics of him on my phone to show. My gut told me something was wrong when the first thing he says is "well you know those pictures are touched up right?" I had pics of Cody in the middle of a MMA fight, sweaty, bloody, but it showed the versatility of the cut. I seriously doubt someone edited pics of Cody's hair in a fight. Once I realized the barber had no idea what he was doing it was too late. He shaved down one side of my head up past the temple and awkwardly engraved three separate hard parts at different angles to one side, along with a few bloody knicks. There was no going back. He knew I wasn't happy and I was praying he'd find a way to make it look decent. He told me if I didn't like it I wouldn't have to pay. Well I hated it. And I'm not picky at all. This would've received a higher rating had he just kept his word. Well he tries to fix the disaster by tossing copious amounts of different gels, waxes, etc. in hopes that anything will mediate the problem. I'm clearly not happy but remain professional and my girlfriend is looking at me like "how am I supposed to fix this." After that he has the nerve to say "I'll knock of two dollars." That's why the review is bad. Yes it was the worst haircut I've ever had. Yes he lacked the skill of a basic barber. But even with that, I still would've rated better due to the welcoming nature of the people. It's that he went back on his word and I paid 18 dollars for someone to ruin my head. Now I'm on the hunt for a more "modern" barber who can either turn this in to a Mohawk (always needed an excuse to try it) or just buzz it all over if it is irredeemable. I do not recommend this barber if you want anything other than a typical trim.
