As soon as we get some rain we will have a hole outside our back door to fall in. I really wish the outcome was different. I would suggest not making the final payment until you are satisfied with the completed product. They did not knock to say they were done for us to check the job. Within an hour Jeremy 1 responded and assessed the leak from within the tank itself, non repairable..I then contacted AO Smith as he advised it was still under warranty and Kehle could obtain a new Unit, obtain a permit and install the next day for a labor only charge. After agreeing on a competitive price, Kehle handled the rest, obtaining a new water heater, permit and install in less than 24 hours. The installer, Jeremy 3, yes more than one, lol, arrived at promptly at 830 am ready to install. As I watched, Jeremy 3 meticulously removed the defective water heater and replaced with the new one. I noted that the install was much more professional and secure than the original by the builder. He was assisted by Jeremiah, an apprentice. At that time I brought to Charlie's attention that the tank had a serial date of 2021 and he replied but the warranty starts today (August 2022.) Well, the Inspector told me that the Insurance Co goes by the serial manufacturing date which is 2021and some Insurance Companies want the homeowner to change out their water tanks at 10 years old. Due to Charlie's plumbing not installing a current year manufactured tank he does not realize the implications to future home owner's insurance requirements. When the technician arrived, my wife answered the door and he didn't introduce himself -- he simply stood there and bluntly said "you got a leak." After she acknowledged, he walked into the house without any professionalism or courtesy. He did not wear shoe covers or take any basic steps to respect our home. The leak detection diagnosis he provided turned out to be completely wrong. Based on his direction, I ended up taking apart a large portion of my kitchen -- removing granite countertops and cabinets -- only to later discover the leak was nowhere near where he said it was. This caused unnecessary disruption, time, and expense. The lack of professionalism, poor communication, and incorrect diagnosis was extremely frustrating. I expect the company to review this situation, explain how this happened, and reach out to discuss how they intend to make this right. I will be documenting this issue and filing a complaint with Florida consumer protection authorities as well as escalating this to Mr Rooter corporate if it is not addressed. I would strongly caution anyone considering using this company for leak detection until this matter is properly resolved. I will update this review based on the company's response.

To fix the leak with a long term solution, they fixed the plumbing under our sink so it would not have so many areas of connection (less points to leak). We realized the previous work was done only with a compression (no adhesive, etc.) so they corrected that also. Since they had to come out anyways, I asked them to look at our master toilet and they replaced the guts so that it will fill correctly going forward.
