It is very long story Arkansas bank known as Arvest close both of accounts after allowing my checking account to go in the hole when I had my checking account on no overdraft so basically they paid them anyway use that for an excuse to close out my acc and then they send me a check certified mail days now finally made it to Michigan. I live in Huntsville Arkansas same town. The bank is in. They had my phone could've called me. Come down to discuss while we're .... No word no signal. Now my electric is overdue. Now my water is overdue. All my bills are overdue. I do not have any money to get back and and there's no telling when I'm going to get this check if I get this check because now my mailbox is over a quarter mile away from my house. I have had so many problems with people tearing up my mailbox getting mail out the mailbox and only get mail on Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays cause that's the only time roll through. I have sat down there and watched. think Arvest put me in this situation the whole time I've had my never been in the red until they decide to go ahead and pay something that comes through that they shouldn't And I pay the cost for it by making me go in the hole read more

Being that Arvest Bank is our bank, they were our first option when it came time to establish financing for our new home construction. We even came to the table with over $100,000 in collateral. We thought for sure there would be no issue in getting approved and starting the process. To our dismay there was an issue regarding a small debt on record and our financing was denied. We immediately paid the debt off and requested financing services for a 2nd time. We got no response and were ignored. Thankfully Simmons Bank approved our request with no issues for financing and our new home construction began shortly after. I'm heavily disappointed in my own bank. Our experience with Arvest has clearly shown their incompetent risk assessment. Our finances, credit scores, and collateral were well within the threshold of being Very Low Risk to Arvest. Our loan denial from Arvest came as a shock and even more so when the only discrepancy on our behalf was resolved and we were still denied and ignored. Since this took place we have patroned other financing institutions for vehicle loans and other financing needs and will continue to do so. read more

I you want to verify sufficient fund of a check off the account of their members Arvest policy is not to verify funds. This policy is asinine and needs to be changed. I would be interested if the check did Not have sufficient funds if Arvest would pay the return check fee, since they denied the request to verify. In the future I will not accept any Arvest checks to avoid any issues. Bank elsewhere read more

Within the last 6 months, Arvest Bank opened a second card on my account to a stranger, because they didn't bother to check that customers ID when they came in for a new card. Customer made chargers and Arvest said my ONLY option was to open a police report because there was NO WAY they could have made a mistake. Opened the report, had to use a PTO day, just to realize they're being lazy with people's money... (the officer handling my case said he was personally closing his account because that wasn't the first time Arvest told someone to open a report due to their lazy error). Months later, they put my cash deposit in the account of the person in front of me in the drive thru line, wouldn't have caught it if I weren't actively checking my app. Today made a deposit they didn't post so I'm praying the money isn't in someone else's account yet AGAIN. They miscounted a withdrawal my brother made, told my dad he couldn't withdraw the amount of cash he wanted, promised to send me a letter to ease my mind about all of these errors, never did. I cannot visit this branch on one simple occasion without an error on their end. Perhaps me being a young girl rather than a wealthy executive means I'm not deserving of answers or accuracy from my own bank. read more

I used to love Arvest years ago when it was State Bank. It has changed over the years. In this day and age when they could send you an instant notification if you are overdrawn via text or e-mail, they still send a postcard. But they send it as slowly as possible. Local mail should take 1-2 days. I was overdrawn on August 18th and was not informed until August 23. It is simply a corrupt desire to get that $17 fee off of every purchase. This "overdraft protection" is mostly to their advantage again because they earn more fees from your human errors. I asked at my location in Tulsa if they have a way to opt in for notifications of some sort. Nope. Just an app that I can check every day. read more

Came here the other day to open an account up with my husband. Frist we were helped by Jeremy - who was awesome. Very informative, helpful and friendly. He showed us our options and pros and cons of different accounts. He was able to set up our account within a reasonable amount of time. We came with our little 17 month old daughter and he was so nice to her. He brought in a kids play table into his office so she could play - since she is a wiggle machine haha. Speaking of kids... they have a lobby area with some kids books and toys which is helpful. They also had a red kids car in the lobby (not for kids use, but for display) and they were really kind to let me little girl play in it while we finished our account up. They also offered water and candy for all of us. Next we talked to John who does loans (mortgages, etc). He was really helpful, informative and friendly as well. He stayed after the bank closed to finish talking to us as well and walked us out. Overall, very happy with my experience here and am glad to be banking here. read more

Customer Service on the phone is terrible. You can give them your tax id number and social security number but they can't help you unless you know a recent transaction. Seems to me if you have that information you should be able to get help. If your a busy person like me and you have things automatically withdrawn and deposited its just too much to remember. I will be looking for another bank. Any suggestions would be appreciated. read more

Arvest in general is a terrible entity. Save yourself time, energy and sanity and go with different bank. These people lack customer service skills, professionalism and could care less about the experience you have with them. read more
