Manny's specializes in not only a wide selection of high quality art supplies for all mediums, but also a variety of gift items and novelties as well! We were tempted to drop major cash on some new oil pastels, but instead settled for some inexpensive but adorable wallet-sized animal figurines (a lamb for me and a dinosaur for the boyfriend - so cute!) I haven't seen a small business that sells art supplies outside of my beloved Blick's in Cambridge, MA, so it was cool to visit Manny's in New Paltz and not only support a local business, but support the arts as well. The staff was knowledgeable and kind, and made shopping here an excellent experience. It was a wonderful way to start our New Paltz adventure!

The prices are average, not over-priced, and the staff is absolutely excellent at helping you find the best tools for you! I was looking at paints one day, not really sure what brands were the best or worst, and as I was going to check out, the lovely older gentleman of the staff actually helped me find a type of paint that was cheaper than what I had picked out yet would still work perfectly for what I wanted. He helped me save money and gave me some useful information, not to mention that he and the other staff members are always very friendly! I love making trips down to Artware!

I'm happy to support this local, family-owned business, not only for the aforementioned reasons but…read morealso because their employees are both knowledgeable and helpful. I tend to come in to have prints matted and/or framed. Archival materials are the norm. The staff will also mat to ready-made frame sizes or custom. Their training also makes choosing mats easier. "Do you want bright white or eggshell white?" "Let's look at them together." Additionally, they offer to amend things that I didn't notice. A print I asked to have matted and framed was slightly curved. I was assured the print would be flattened prior to being matted and framed so it would sit more snugly. I'm sure most customers would appreciate that attention to detail. Here's to hoping this establishment continues to provide goods and services to this community for a long time to come.

They sell the pencils individually so she can selectively restock the ones she runs out of most. They also have a nice selection of gift items like small pouches, reusable bags, socks, cards and assorted small art themed things. The selection of easels is extensive and includes table easels and standing easels. Tons of canvas, paints and paint brushes. Prices are reasonable. I found the staff a little overbearing (they greeted me multiple times) when I entered the store but were friendly at checkout. Highly recommend.
