I'm from Benton Harbor. I just happened to be in Detroit AND to have time to get my hair done. I…read morehad been trying, forever, to get the "right" hairstyle, but every salon I'd been to kept messing it up. I went in and talked to Victoria and explained what I wanted and she immediately seems to understand! A sort of Kate Goslin on top, but longer in back and then blend it ....plus I wanted blonde, but not strawberry...my hair always turns out goldish, which I disllike. She nailed it on both ends. The cut was PERFECT. The color was PERFECT. I loved it. I now travel 300 miles to get my hair done. Victoria is down to earth and comfortable to be around. There's a couple more ladies in the salon also. I don't know their names. One is a younger blonde. Another one is a black lady about my age. She did my hair once also, and did a great job as well. Victoria was there to explain what I wanted and she followed suit. Very nice ladies, both of them. Another thing I like is that I don't like to be talked to death when I go to get my hair done. I'm in business and I have a lot of my mind. I prefer to be left to my meditations rather than engage in meaningless chatter. These ladies don't force feed you with shallow conversations. If you want to talk, they are very personable, but if you sit quiet, they'll leave you alone and just do your hair. Personally I really like that. The atmosphere is simple, clean, bright and comfortable. The prices are OUTSTANDING. For what all I usually have done (highlights and color and cut) I usually pay upwards of a hundred bucks. Here, the most I've paid is half that. I just wish they were closer to home.

I can be a man of simple tastes - especially when it comes to my own haircuts. That's why when I…read morewas out for a walk the other day and saw Signature Cuts promising a $10 haircut, I was instantly intrigued. Some in our society look down on the $10 cut, while I actively seek it out... there is nothing finer than having a good haircut on the cheap. When I walked inside, I instantly got the impression that this place was pretty new. Listening to the owner/barber (stylist? It was a lady...) talk to some of the other patrons, it was all but confirmed. I don't know how long she's been in business, but it looks like they're just starting out. That being said, the inside leaves you with a little bit of an empty feeling as the walls are almost bare. Not that I want fine paintings all over, but it seems to me that most barbers/salons usually have something, even if it is only pictures of people with awesome haircuts, on the walls. The rest of the inside stuff was tastefully done, however. I dug it. Not too fancy, but not a dump either. The real gravy is in the haircut. It's pretty hard to really screw up my cut, so I'm not going to mention whether it was good or not because, well, it came out fine as usual. It doesn't take a lot of skill to make me happy. I will comment that Victoria was great at striking that delicate balance between too much talking and talking just enough so I wasn't sitting there all awkward like. None of that usual, "So what are you doing this weekend?" bullcrap a lot of other places like to pull. Thumbs up to you, Victoria. So it was an okay haircut for a great price. The type of stuff I really like to see. I hope Signature Cuts gets enough business to stick around because it's really close to where I live (at the moment) and I felt comfortable chilling out in there. Plus, I got a few leads on where to search for a job. Score! Check it out if you're looking for a decent and cheap haircut. I did and I sure am glad.
