Go talk to Art of Artistic Pianos about Pianos:) Here is to the point: 1. Quality of Kawai's beyond competitive and technological. 2. Always match Art's pricing to any of his competitors. He will give you a much better deal. 3. Always shoot for the better piano. They will make it happen as long as you talk to them. read more

It was a pleasure to learn from Art about how piano works and how digital ones mimic an acoustic one in different ways. Definitely recommend if you want to buy a piano that suits you. read more

Art is a super nice, piano loving human, and his store is a great place to check out pianos. I went in to check out the Kawai GX-2, but fell in love with the Shigeru SK2. He is very chill, and he let me hang out for 2 hours playing the different pianos. He would check in with me, answer questions, play something to demonstrate, trade stories, etc. Being a small father son business, his prices really are kind of amazing. I was able to trade in my piano, and take home the SK-2 which I did not expect. My new SK2 at home is just as sweet as it was in store. Every time I play, I smile just as wide. So also, this is a thumbs up review for the SK2, which is an absolute joy to play and listen to. The control on dynamics and touch, its hard to describe. Just love. Thank you Art, for such an easy experience! read more

Great experience with Artistic Pianos. Working with Art is fantastic - he is knowledgeable and thoughtful. Found the perfect piano for our needs. Art made the delivery and tuning process easy. Thanks again! read more

I had a very Enjoyable experience visiting artistic pianos. I've actually never been in a piano store so I didn't know what to expect. Tyler Greeted me as soon as I came in and showed me the full line up of available pianos. I had a lot of questions and he was very gracious to answer all of them with expert knowledge and a friendly demeanor. The place is warm and welcoming and Tyler did an exceptional job making me feel comfortable as I tried out the various types of high end pianos. I learned a lot from him and really appreciated his enthusiasm for the rich history of Kawai pianos. He even took the time to teach me a quick lesson on timing, because that is what I struggle with the most. Tyler is a very personable and honest guy that will steer you in the right direction when your not sure what type of piano your looking for. He let me play any piano I wanted and as long as I wanted without feeling any pressure to buy. I hope to upgrade from my older baldwin soon, and will definitely seek out Tyler's professional help when I do. I Highly recommend visiting Artistic Piano! read more

Art is a real gentleman and a pleasure to deal with. He answered all of my questions and because I am a piano rookie all I had to rely on are the comments on Yelp and my impressions of Art. He helped me get the piano I wanted, and which was in my budget. Absolutely no pressure! I was not disappointed. I bought a new Kawai Baby Grand Piano, and it is in my house now. After your piano is delivered, Art will send his piano tuner person to come to your house and tune the piano ON HIS TICKET because a new weather change and the move itself sometimes requires the retuning. I don't plan on buying another piano soon but if someone is thinking of buying my advice is to go and talk to Art first and decide for yourself. read more

I wish I knew the owners name! He was a sweet heart! Helped me pick out a piano a few months ago, I let him know I was on a budget and found something that was in my budget and plays beautifully! I then came back a few days later because I needed a piano stand and he helped me out there too! Will recommend this place to all my friends and family ever in the need of a piano! read more

One of the best experiences I've had with a piano store. Friendly, helpful and honest. Very good prices and zero sales pressure. It's obvious they love pianos and music and that their goal is to help you find the right piano. read more

This is the third piano store we visited within a week, and here we saw better piano selection and wayyyyy better help and knowledge the store owner exhibited. Art was kind, funny, approachable, and so knowledgeable and willing to demonstrate. We came in pretty sure about getting a digital piano because the baby naps throughout the day, I need to be able to practice without waking her. He helped us learn more about what the digital piano we were interested was able to do. We decided to purchase it within 30 min. It was a no brainer. We should've come here first instead of the other two places we went to! I would be recommending this store to a friends and family who are interested in buying a piano! read more

Artistic Pianos - Sitting in front of the digital piano (Roland) today, and baby's first piano! - Piano Stores Near Me - San Marcos, California

We love Art at Artistic Pianos. You can tell he truly loves what he does and genuinely wants to find the right piano for you. We bought a 1984 Baldwin L from him and couldn't be happier. His prices are fair and they have a great reputation throughout the county with technicians and other musicians. You can trust them. read more

Loved their selection & happy that we got our new Kawai piano from them! The owner is very knowledgable & kind.

Art and his son are the nicest! Art is always so helpful, and knowledgeable. Visit Artistic Pianos, you want regret it.

My mom had been waiting to help me get the right piano for many years. She did some research and found this place, and decided to go with me to see what they had. It was close to my birthday and Art was very friendly and helpful right away with finding the perfect piano. We found a Roland since my mom has a Roland as well, and right away I loved the one he showed me. He played the piano so beautifully!!!! My mom asked if she could put a deposit down until I could pay the rest the next month, and he gladly did that for us. I was so thankful and beyond happy and couldn't wait to bring my piano home. Very impressed with my experience here and I absolutely love my new piano. read more

We went into artistic pianos thinking about buying a digital piano. We were not planning to buy on the spot but they had such great deals we couldn't pass it up. We had a wonderful shopping experience. The owner was super knowledgeable and NOT pushy at all. It was nice to be in a store without high pressure sales man in your face. I really appreciated it. If you are in the market to buy a piano I would definitely go here. Being a small business owner too, I feel good about purchasing from other business owner than giving my money to a big corporation. read more

We have an 85-year old baby grand that we wanted to refurbish but we didn't want to be without a piano for the time it would take, so we started looking on craigslist for a replacement. Artistic Pianos had a wonderful used piano in a lovely satin black that we were very interested in. We spoke with Art (as in "Art"istic Pianos) and he was incredibly helpful with our seemingly endless questions and requests. He sent us additional pix and we made a verbal agreement to purchase the black satin piano. He just took our word for it and didn't even require a deposit. Trust is good business :-) Today, we went up to San Marcos to see the piano, and while it was a great upgrade to what we already had, it wasn't enough of an upgrade to be worth the cost. Its cabinet was way better than ours, but we both felt that our current piano's sound was superior. Art then showed us another used piano and then a brand-new one that we fell in love with. We had no intention of buying a brand new baby grand, but the piano and its price were irresistible. Art was helpful and encouraging and not pushy one bit. He and his son Tyler gave us the time and space we needed to fall in love with the piano and know that it was the right choice. Art's incredible piano talents helped us realize this was the piano for us. So, we're awaiting our piano delivery this week and we're SO excited. Thank you, Art and Tyler for being helpful and just amazing people to work with. Highly, highly recommend Artistic Pianos! read more

My friend Rosemary has been singing the praises of Art. But, it wasn't until I talked to another musician friend, who also had some great dealings with this place...that I decided to write a Yelp review. It's great that there are still businesses out there that run this well. It also bothers me that...well, when I saw the 1-star review done by a person, I had to read what their complaint with Art was. It was merely the fact that they didn't get the price they wanted on a used piano. That's ridiculous!!! A business should be grading/rated on a number of things. Not getting a price you want, shouldn't be the be all/end all. Otherwise, no car dealership would have any good reviews. This place knows how to treat customers. Two of my music friends praising it, is good enough endorsement for me. read more

Art, we can't thank you enough for helping us buy our new baby grand piano. Your exhaustive knowledge, your patient, calm, kind demeanor, and your honesty and integrity make us want to tell the world to shop here and nowhere else. We went to Artistic Pianos to begin our search for a new piano, with absolutely NO intention of purchasing that day. Once we began looking at and playing the many and various pianos on the floor, we came to realize that the deal we were offered would be rare or impossible to find in the future, so we jumped at it. Only AFTER the sale was complete did Art tell us he had another customer who had planned to come back in a couple days to purchase "our" piano. While other sales people might tell you such a story beforehand (true or not) as a high-pressure sales tactic, Art had the integrity not to introduce it into our decision-making process. I LOVE doing business with people of character. I would never buy a piano anywhere else. Art, we wish you all the best -- you deserve it! read more

I had a fantastic experience buying my first REAL piano here. I had just bought a house, of course outgoing finances were more than I was comfortable with, I have a lot of classical training, but never bought a keyboard/piano because I always needed the real action to enjoy playing and never had a permanent home/space. I got a beautiful baby grand Yamaha from Artistic Pianos, older 1970s model, which they worked with me on the price. My first tuning was included too. I was a little uncertain going above my budget slightly, but I am so happy I went for this piano. Art understood my situation, and he said I could trade in to a better one in the future, full credit given for this one if it was kept in good condition. So I'm doing my 2nd tuning after 4mo and very happy with it. Originally I had a deposit on a piano from Greene Music, and they have very pushy salespeople trying to sell me a $15-20k+ first piano immediately after my first home purchase. I've bought cars and the car salespeople there were saints compared to Greene. I'm about to post a negative review on Greene, because I got a follow up call yesterday from the salesperson I thought was really scum. I had a deposit with Greene for a piano, but canceled after about a month. When I visited Greene again after putting my deposit with Art, he gave me the same forceful sales pitch (you can sleep under your piano, you can eat on your piano, it won't be a priority so just go for it now), and I wanted to punch him in the face almost. We spent hours together before I put a deposit on a piano with him and not only could he not remember me but also pulled out the worst sales pitch/tactics I've ever seen. I may upgrade with Art if my tax return is good in 2016. Really A++++++. I'm sure we'd all love a brand new Steinway or Yamaha with silent action which is available through Greene, but even semi-serious skilled pianists aren't going to spend $20-$50k+ on their first piano. Maybe in 20 years, but Greene definitely won't get that business. I'm happy to give my business to Art. read more

Art and Tyler are knowledgable, friendly, and helpful, but honestly the most important things are quality and pricing. The quality of the digital piano I bought is simply amazing, and I checked online after I bought my Roland and the savings was significant! Art also threw in a free used piano bench! I could not be happier with my purchase. Know that if you go anywhere else, you are Not getting the best deal you could get! Artistic Pianos is the only place to go for a piano; great deals new and used. read more

The original store we purchased our piano from 5yrs ago closed. I visited several stores because my wife wanted to upgrade (and change color, ha, ha). Art at Artistic Piano is Absolutely Terrific! He's extremely knowledgeable and nothing like the "sales" people I ran into at other stores. We couldn't be happier with our new piano and Highly recommend Artistic Piano. read more

I know from experience that Art stands by his pianos, no matter how long ago you purchased from him. I have made several purchases over the years from Art, the most recent this summer when I bought a new, traditional Kawai. I couldn't be happier with the price, quality or delivery. My kids took lessons for years, but I have taking private piano lessons for only a little over a year, yet I feel like Liberace on my new Kawai! Kawai offers a superior, yet affordable, collection of pianos and Art has lots of selection, including used pianos from Kawai and other top manufacturers in every price range. You will never be pressured. See Art first. read more

What a great experience!! I would highly recommend them!! Art and Tyler are such genuine people, it was a pleasure to work with them.

A piano is a piano. A piano shouldn't cost more because of where the store is located. And a piano should not cost more because the owner of the store has fallen victim to the elitist snobbery so common in San Diego County. Art Olson treated me like dirt when I had the nerve to offer ten thousand dollars for a used Schimmel piano. He clings to the industry-wide falsehood that used pianos sell for half the price of their new counterparts. That's piano-dealer ancient lore (horse-pucky). I've read Larry Fine's book, too. However, I can actually comprehend what it means. The Fine book is far from a reliable source for appraisal information, and it can't be used to generate some sort of "MSRP" for a used piano. So, as I sit here in the warm glow coming off my $10,000 Schimmel piano, purchased from a dealer in Orange County, allow me to say to Arty-boy, you need to come down to earth: when 10 grand causes you to sneer, it's time to go back to the piano bar and play for tips. Will good ol' Arty admit he was both wrong and dismissive? What do you think? read more

This place is amazing. Art, the owner is very knowledgeable. Was helping my daughter find an electric piano. Not a very big budget to work with for her. He was so helpful and non judgmental about the budget. He helped her find just what she needs. I had read the great reviews and they are true. It's a fabulous place; no pressure and lots of good info. No need to go anywhere else to shop. read more

I took piano lessons for many years as a child and was looking to get back into it. My husband and I happened upon this store and decided to look for a digital pianos. Art was a so helpful in showing us various options and we didn't feel pressured to buy anything but ended up finding the perfect one! He showed me how to use all the features and helped us unpack it and fit in into our tiny car because I insisted I wanted to take it home that day. It's been 4 months or so and I still think it was a great purchase. I highly recommend Artistic Pianos! read more

Art is fantastic and so knowledgeable. We own Forte Academy of the Arts and are very happy with our Yamaha grand piano. I have had 2 families purchase pianos from Art at Artistic Pianos in the last two months. Both families received excellent customer service and advise on purchasing the best pianos for their budget. One family chose a Kawai 300 upright piano and the other family chose a GL10 Kawai grand piano. Both excellent choices. The students receiving these pianos will have a lifetime of musical enjoyment. I as a piano tuner/technician and piano instructor in Murrieta appreciate Art for giving my students great advise on their purchases and for not being high pressure. I recently purchased a beautiful Albert Weber 6'1" new grand from Art at Artistic Pianos. I never thought that I would buy this brand- I am a pianist and a professional musician. After doing my homework and spending some time with Art at the showroom-i realized that he was helping me make an informed decision on a new piano based on how the piano felt and looked-not on my preconceived and frankly outdated ideas. Art didn't pressure me but he was available to answer any questions that I had and I felt very comfortable. I absolutely love this piano! I'm a busy piano teacher and I shopped around thoroughly for a new piano for my studio. Art is absolutely the most pleasant non-pushy person I came across in the local piano dealer scene. I was looking for a digital piano to replace my old Roland. It had been a long time since I was in the market for a piano, and I knew little about what is available today. After seeing the great reviews for Artistic Pianos, I contacted Art to ask what he might have in a low price range that would be a good replacement for my broken piano. He replied promptly, and remembered our email exchange when I was finally able to come into his shop, weeks later. I was very pleased with my experience there. Art showed me the features of the various models, and let me take my time in trying them out. I appreciate that I wasn't made to feel second class simply because I didn't have a lot of money to throw around. I went home with a good basic model at a price I could afford. I also enjoyed looking at and trying out some of the gorgeous acoustic pianos, just for fun. I only wish I could have taken one of them home with me! It was clear that Art is a man that loves music and the instruments he sells. read more

This transaction was and continues to be as good as it gets. Art is incredibly helpful and empathic. I arrived at the store looking to purchase a particular piano. After some discussion and tapping into Art's 47 years of experience, I ended up purchasing not only what I sought, but an addition, CLASSIC piano as well. There is no other place to go to look for a new or used piano. It was just a tremendous experience and I happily give Art and Artistic pianos a five-star rating. If the scale went to 10, it would be 10. Thank you, Art! read more

Art is the best! Honest and fair and he works really hard to find the perfect piano for every customer. I trust him implicitly....I bought a baby grand in 2006 and upgraded to a better instrument in 2010. Art helped me every step of the way in both transactions. He has a lot of knowledge and is willing to work with a customer for as long as it takes to find the right instrument. I looked in every piano store in San Diego (no explanation needed) - one store reminded me of buying a used car and the other was so high pressure that I felt like I needed to wear a flack jacket! read more
