I have wanted to get a professional designer for years but was nervous about the cost, the process,…read more and how the rest of the family would feel about changing our living room around. But I finally made the leap this summer with Heather Fulkerson and I could not possibly be any happier with how our living room turned out. She won over my two toughest critics, my husband and my teenage daughter. Heather came over and together we talked about my hopes for the room and our needs as a busy family with two dogs and she immediately recognized how we could rearrange our existing furniture and TV to make our beautiful 2 story stacked stone fireplace the focal point in the room. When we first moved in 9 years ago we bought all our furniture at Havertys and used their free design service. (Dont get me wrong- I still like Havertys) But ultimately I felt what happened was they just sold us more Haverty's stuff but it was up to us to do the "designing". (which is not not my strong suit, haha). Here's the difference.... With Heather I felt she got to know us and our needs to create a room that is absolutely beautiful, reflects the soothing, relaxing space that you *want* to come home to and did it all while keeping our budget in mind. We needed contractors to come out on 2 different days, and they too were prompt, courteous and did a fantastic job. Then on "installation day" when we finally got the "reveal" I was thrilled. There were so many little details that pulled it all together. If you have never worked with a designer before but have been thinking about it , just know that Heather will work with your budget, explain the process, and create a beautiful space for you that your whole family will enjoy. I cannot even tell you how many "Wows" I've gotten on this room and how wonderful it is to come home to after a long day.

Heather and staff are clearly very talented. However, I felt that many times during our project…read morethere were long periods of time with no communication. In the middle of the project, she almost quit, stating her discomfort that I had stated a preference for furniture in a room she was doing. Install day was very mixed. There were may aspects that were beautifully done. However, there were many accessories that looked like they were thrown together at the last minute. This was especially problematic because they did not reflect my style, pillows were horribly scratchy and uncomfortable, and I had requested that I like things a bit minimalistic and it was over-accessorized in every corner. However, this would have been ok with me if we could have clarified what was wrong and it was fixed for the next project we planned on hiring them for. Instead, when we communicated about the things we wanted to return, she told me she was would no longer decorate for us. We had invested a lot in service hours, and she refused to compensate any of that, despite the fact that we were unsatisfied. In my opinion, it felt as if the whole thing was about making her happy and not us as the customers.

Terrible - caused catastrophic damage and refused responsibility…read more I hired this company to install outdoor carpet on my terrace of a brand-new home. Before work began, I explicitly instructed the contractor not to use nails, screws, or make any cuts due to waterproofing and structural concerns. These instructions were clear and non-negotiable. Despite those warnings, the contractor ignored my instructions and used fasteners and cuts anyway, directly compromising the waterproofing system. As a result, my home suffered extensive water intrusion and damage that now totals tens of thousands of dollars. When I discovered the damage and attempted to address it professionally, the contractor refused to engage, hung up on me, and has since avoided all responsibility for the destruction caused by his work. There was no attempt to inspect, repair, remediate, or even discuss a resolution. This was not a misunderstanding -- it was a complete disregard for client instructions, property protection, and professional accountability. The work performed has resulted in major financial loss, legal action, and months of disruption. If you value your property, your investment, or basic professionalism, do not hire this company. I am now pursuing this matter through the courts because the contractor has failed to take responsibility for the damage caused by his actions.

I would NOT recommend 3Kings Cleaning based on my experience with the owner, Terry. He has expanded…read morehis business to exterior painting. I had multiple conversations with Terry and made every effort to ensure there was zero confusion about the scope of my project or the price. I met with Terry twice at my home to go over the entire job. He knew exactly what I expected. He even came to my home the morning the job was supposed to begin to finalize the paint colors. We also spoke several times by phone the night before to finalize the contract. The written estimate was very clear. It listed the work to be completed and showed a $1,458 subtotal, a $291.60 military discount, and a final price of $1,166.40. The estimate specifically included the deck, wood rails, stairs, shutters, garage doors, front door, and preparation work. Then the crew arrived. That's when everything changed. The employees apparently had been given a different understanding of the job than what Terry and I had discussed. Instead of Terry taking responsibility for the communication problem, I witnessed an attempt to low-ball his own employees on the amount they were expected to be paid while simultaneously trying to increase the price of my job. That is completely unacceptable. You cannot meet with a customer multiple times, personally inspect the property, finalize the colors, discuss the project repeatedly by phone, provide a written scope and price, and then change the deal when your crew shows up because you failed to properly communicate the job to your own employees. If Terry underbid the job or failed to communicate the scope to his crew, that is a problem between the owner and his employees--not something that should suddenly become the customer's financial responsibility. What makes this even more frustrating is that I did everything I could to avoid exactly this situation. I communicated directly with the owner, met with him twice, spoke with him multiple times by phone, and had him at my home that morning to finalize the colors. I even accepted the contract. The issue wasn't a lack of communication from me. The issue was the owner's failure to properly manage his own business and communicate the agreed-upon scope to his employees. I have no problem paying a fair price for quality work. What I have a problem with is agreeing on a price and scope, only to have the terms challenged when the crew arrives. Terry (Owner) had already personally inspected the property, discussed the complete scope with me on multiple occasions, and came back to finalize the colors. This wasn't a situation where he was seeing the property for the first time. My advice to anyone considering 3Kings: BE CAREFUL. Make sure you have everything in writing, make sure the owner and crew have the exact same understanding of the scope, and do not assume that the price you agree upon with the owner will necessarily be the price they try to charge you when the crew arrives. This wasn't just a disagreement over a few dollars. It was a serious issue of professionalism, communication, and trust. Unfortunately, after my experience with Terry and 3Kings Cleaning, I would not trust them with my home or recommend them to other homeowners.

This company was hired by a plumber who flooded me from an upstairs unit. They had the scope and they had an opportunity to tell their client (the plumber) that they didn't have enough space and needed a packout. Instead they chose to move forward with the project and did terrible work. The work in the picture is what they did and never once did they tell me that it wasn't up to their standards. I have not threatened them. I've told the plumber that the work was unacceptable and that they need to get it fixed or be sued. I've also told ECS that I would share examples of their work with the public. The reality is that many times insurance and liable parties don't want to pay what it will cost to get work done warning everyone that ECS may take the job anyways and then leave you with a mess as they did me. Furthermore, their staff openly admitted to me and complained to one another that they didn't have the skills to do the drywall or the electrical work. companies who take cheap contracts often have under skilled laborers and the result will be poor execution. This is a standard example of that. Consider yourself warned.
