Friendly service I happen to stop by during a tasting event and the staff were very knowledgeable of their selection read more

The cutest little artisan wine shop in Beacon. We stumbled upon this little place and somehow I never even knew it existed if it wasn't for their wine tasting sign on a Friday afternoon from 4-7pm. Somehow, my eyeball peeped it, we looked at each other and said: wine not? What sets this shop apart is that everything is hand picked, carefully curated, organic, natural and biodynamic. COOL! Let's start off by acknowledging their orange rainbow wine wall galore where you can pick from all hues of orange wine. I'm an orange wine newbie - super late to the game - BUT, thanks to their guided tasting (and amazing wine connoisseur) I was able to gain so much knowledge. We got to try a white (Spain), a delicious smooth red (France) and an incredibly funky and fun orange Hungarian wine. I hadn't even tried Hungarian wine before until now. Pleasantly surprised and it for sure was something unique. In case you're curious to try it too it's their Jász Laci 'Rising Sun' Somló 2022. We loved it so much we picked up a bottle to take home. The tasting bottles are also discounted if you participate in the tasting which is super awesome. Overall, so happy we came here. Definitely recommend doing the tasting that way you can grow and try new flavors - hand picked and recommended by the wine specialists themselves. read more

Great wine shop. Super helpful staff. They don't try to upsell and make sure you get what you're looking for or as close as they can.

My favorite wine shop north of Manhattan. The selections are eclectic, sophisticated and displayed in categories based on taste characteristics rather than by place off origin. It makes it easier to shop and also makes it educational. Prices are very reasonable and some featured low price wines taste as if they could sell for a lot more. There are tastings every Friday and Saturday evening and on occasion they have events where wine is paired with food. They have a full open kitchen in the back of the shop. This is where I buy my hard ciders. Best selection in the lower Hudson Valley. The staff knows their stuff and is always helpful. The restroom is very clean. If I ever open a wine shop, I would model it after The Artisan. read more

Love the selection. There were so many unique offerings it was hard to choose one. I loved that there was a wide range of price points so you could find a great everyday bottle or something really special as well. A pretty extensive cider and liquor set as well. read more

Artisan Wine Shop - Beer, Wine & Spirits Near Me - Beacon, New York

First of all, a big shoutout to Lydia L. for giving me a mini-tour of downtown Beacon and gladly assisting in getting my shop on! We got our coffee and bagels. We dropped by a few boutiques and consignment shops to get some gift shopping done. Hmm...something's missing....wine! The Artisan Wine Shop has such an interesting variety of wines to select from - wines from small, regional vineyards as well as California and Europe. Wines are organized by flavor profile and body, which is so helpful if you're looking to pair a wine with a particular meal. Even if you're not an oenophile, the selection of other spirits and liquors is impressive and worth a look. The full-bodied reds section made it very easy to locate the Riojas. I was ecstatic to find a Rioja I had with dinner not too long ago, and at a fraction of the restaurant price. Next time I'm in the area, I'll have to pick up a bottle of sparkling sake! read more

A really beautiful space with friendly and knowledgable owners who have clearly placed their focus on pairing food with wine, which is evidenced by the kitchen space in the back and weekly wine pairings with food. Wines available in every price-point are organized by categories like lush, medium-bodied, full-bodied, crisp, sweet etc - and almost every wine has cards which describe the grape, region and wine in detail. A nice touch. Great selection and the focus tends to be on smaller producers with a few lesser known areas represented. In all honestly, other than local wines that I am familiar with, I only recognized about 4-5 other producers, which is exciting for someone who likes to experiment with some new names. When we visited, we tasted a lovely lighter red from Lanzarote, which is one of the Canary Islands! Not really a place that you hear much about in terms of wine. I also love that they store bottles on their side, which is better for the cork. read more

It's really something special to have a local, small business that provides such a great range of carefully selected wines, for every budget, and with knowledge sans pretense.Thank you for all your careful attention to safety as well. read more

A very, very good wine shop run by someone who knows exactly what they're selling. A real rarity, now I think about it. The wines they sell are very well chosen and laid out in a logical way - a wine beginner will have an easy time here, as will a connoisseur. Good selection of spirits too - alas, this is also the only local place which sells my favourite whisky, George Dickel - and I was heartbroken to discover that they've upped the price from $28 to $34 since I was there about six weeks ago. Why?! Seriously good place but that knocks a star off for me. read more

Cute wine shop for a cute town. We wanted to pick up a bottle of wine for evening sipping, and Artisan Wine Shop was the perfect stop. Not only was the selection carefully curated, but the staff was extremely helpful. They have a fully-equipped kitchen in the back and we not only sampled a few reds and white, but they were also serving a homemade patee to accompany the drinks. We made off with two delicious bottles of red based off their recommendation and we absolutely loved that "small town shop" feel. Grab a post-hike treat! read more

Great find on Beacon's Main Avenue. The wine selection was broad, arranged by flavor profile, with reasonable prices and detailed and engaging descriptions displayed with every bottle. They offered a wide range of international spirits, with bottles that hailed from Australia to Austria. The staff was knowledgeable and held a personal tastings with wine and a small but delicious food paring (free). read more

Awesome little gem on Main Street. There are a few liquor stores in this area, but go here if you want specialty wines and liquor. The staff is super helpful and knowledgeable on what they have in stock and what you may be looking for. I always am concerned places like this will be pretentious. But the staff here truly just want to help you find a great buy! Love this place. read more

Love this place. We just moved here and I was worried about finding a wine shop that could meet the high standards of my old local. This wine shop is fantastic. Great variety, really nice owners, decent prices, good 'sales' and they actually have a kitchen in the back where they make little snacks to go along with some of the wines they offer for tastings. What a great place. Highly recommended to any wine snob. read more

Ok so it's a storefront with wine stored in bins. Up there was a montrachet, a sancere, and other wonderful varieties with excellent service and knowledgeable staff. Decent pricing. read more

Friendly, all price points represented. Up to date. Smart & courteous (carried my case of wine 2+ blocks to my car). What's not to like?

Very nice layout, lots of room and what looks like a well-curated selection. It might have been nice if even schlubs like us were acknowledged -- the person working the floor bypassed us and worked their spiel on the couple who came in right behind us. :) read more

Nice shop. Both women were very nice. Asked the man if they had sweet wines to taste and he had this attitude and replied we only have dry wines. Okay, won't purchase anything for here. read more
