Dr. Gallagher did a thorough eye exam and was very knowledgeable about my specific vision issues (relating to side effects from a previous procedure and an illness). He took time to answer all of my questions and I didn't feel like he was in a hurry. Back in the area where frames are sold, there was no pressure to buy frames from them. In fact, they gave me a laminated card with my prescription to take with me (presumably to make it easier to buy frames elsewhere if I wanted to). I had some unique vintage frames that I wanted to get my new prescription put into and they were able to do them for me on the premises. It's unique to find a place where someone with this skill actually works in the shop. The glasses were ready in a few days and reasonably priced. Every single person there was pleasant and helpful. I know you can buy cheap glasses online, but I'm happy to support brick and mortar businesses in the community that offers excellent service. You get what you pay for.

I went to Hanover Eye Care to get three pairs of glasses a year ago (2021) and they were wonderful…read more The reason I'm reviewing now is because I had problems with each pair that needed to be addressed (a large scratch in one pair, many scratches in another pair, and a loose screw in another). They took care of the screw and large scratch while I waited (about 5 minutes). The pair with many scratches was about a month beyond the 1-year scratch warranty, but the staff at Hanover Eye Care was able to get the warranty company to cover the repairs anyway. I got a text from Hanover Eye Care about a week later letting me know my new lenses were ready. Everyone there was fantastic, and I will always go to them when I need new glasses.

When I asked the optometrist a money question about my glasses, she said she couldn't answer that, Mitch had to answer that. So when I asked Mitch the same question, he said he couldn't answer that. The other person had to. All I got was the run around, being rushed, no friendliness, and demanding money for a botched job on eyeglasses that they blamed on my dry eye, trying to pass off coupons to fix the problem. What an awful experience. Don't waste your time or money. They don't care about the patients.
