We used Artisan Events after getting them as a recommendation from friends and they were wonderful to work with! We worked with John for our engagement photos and then he teamed up with Erika for our wedding. They were an amazing team to calm nerves and make sure what we spoke about during the planning process came to life. I appreciated the fact they have a streamlined planning process - a document will be shared with you months out from the wedding that you fill it out as an overview of what you want and it helped ensure nothing was forgotten or misunderstood. There were little moments during the wedding day I was so grateful for them (e.g. definitely left without my bouquet and John suggested I might want it :)) where they do a little extra or coaching to keep things moving. We joked that Erika was our MVP - every time we stopped for photos she had some new amazing angle she planned to get by scaling a wall, climbing a tree, etc.! Our photos were turned around really quickly and are exactly what we hoped for. Definitely would recommend! read more

Artisan Events was the very first vendor we booked after getting engaged. We heard from other friends that finding the right photographer was one of the most important parts of planning of wedding because after the day is over you want beautiful, perfect pictures to have forever. We found them on the knot and the minute we walked into their space in Chicago and met we AJ we knew we had found our perfect photography company and even decided to go with AJ as our photographer. My husband and I currently live in AZ and the Artisan Events team made long distance planning and booking so easy and convenient. AJ and her team showed up on time to our hotel, they were friendly, professional, and made us laugh and feel comfortable. The first thing she did was give me hug and gushed about how she's been looking forward to photographing us for so long (due to my husband's deployment we had a 2 year long engagement). Nothing ever felt forced and she took our ideas for our "around town" city scape pictures and turned them into something more than we ever could have imagined. AJ and her team captured every moment perfectly and we are absolutely obsessed with our pictures. I cried when I saw them and my family did too, because they are that breath taking. We decided not to go with a videographer, but just looking through all of the still photos brings us back to that day in vidid detail. We cannot say enough good things about Artisan Events and AJ and their team. We would recommend them time and time again! read more

My husband and I could not be happier with our choice to go with Artisan Events for our wedding photographers. They made us feel comfortable with the process and answered any and all questions from our first consultation through the album design and ordering process. First and foremost, we absolutely LOVED our photographers, Hanna and Erika. We didn't do an engagement shoot with them prior to the wedding, so we were a little nervous about feeling awkward or not meshing with them day of. This was totally not the case though. They made us feel comfortable the whole day and gave us direction while still asking our opinions and making sure they got the shots we wanted. They were also amazing at corralling a semi- rowdy wedding party and keeping everyone in line. It was clear they went above and beyond to get every great shot they could. We felt confident that we would have great pictures with them, but we were still blown away by the pictures when we got them. They were everything we wanted and more AND they got them back to us super fast. The office staff has also been so helpful in coordinating everything and explaining each step in detail. Photos are such an important part of a wedding (or at least it was to us) and we are so happy we entrusted Artisan Events with this important task. We love all the pictures we got out of it and will keep them in our lives forever. read more

My husband and I cannot say enough wonderful things about the Dream Team we developed to help pull-off our wedding day. AJ and Hannah from Artisan Events were part of that team. We were married on what seemed to be the coldest, rainiest day of the summer on August 4th, 2017 at Hidden Vineyard in SW Michigan. We decided to hire a local Chicago photography team and have them travel to our location knowing that there was some face-to-face meetings both before and after the wedding day. AJ and Hannah arrived promplty and were full of pep and spunk. They had time to walk around the venue to determine what locations would be suitable. The weather did not deter them nor us. Luckily it was only sprinkling during our "reveal" and "wedding party" photos so we were able to take pictures around the beautiful landscape. Although we had to take the family photos inside, AJ & Hannah were able to locate an area that worked well and provided the rustic barn feeling we were going for. They followed the family photo list but were flexible to make some change. At the end of the evening, the rain stopped and we had a beautiful sunset which our photographers were able to capture brilliantly. What I especially liked about AJ & Hannah was their diplomacy. They had a way to be nice to our family and friends but at the same time communicate the shot they were looking for (i.e. asking people to move in/out of the photo, how to pose, where to be placed and where to look). Emily has been fantastic communicating with us both before and after the wedding. She's kept me to task to make sure our photo album is one we are happy with AND actually accomplished. We are really pleased with the production of our photos - they captured what we wanted. In 20/20 hindsight, I would hire Artisan Events again without any reservation. read more

When my wife, Alison, and I went through the process of choosing a wedding photographer, we had a clear vision of how we wanted our special day captured. We wanted someone who could find the natural beauty in the setting, had an eye for picking out the best shot, and would truly let us be who we are (no lame poses). We also knew that at the end of the day, our pictures are what we'll have to remember the event. All that said, when we found Artisan Events and met with Tina, we had a good feeling we found the photographer who could fulfill our wishes. When the day came, our "good feeling" was 100% affirmed. In the midst of the madness of the day, Tina brought a level of comfort to Alison and I, letting us enjoy the moment and truly be ourselves. She and Danielle (our second shooter) conducted themselves with such professionalism, being accessible at all times while never disrupting the evening. And when we saw the shots for the first time, I can only say I was blown away. In each shot, I could feel the emotions all over again. She and Danielle (our second shooter) were able to capture us in such a way that we actually relived our wedding day sitting at our laptop. We chose Artisan for their style - artistic photojournalism - because we wanted the shots to showcase the surroundings and the moment as much as they showcased us. What we got far exceeded our expectations. Tina has given us the ability to remember our wedding day in the most vivid and stunning light. We could not be any happier. read more

My husband and I can't say enough wonderful things about Artisan Events, and Tina in particular. When we began the wedding planning process, we knew that photography was an area that we really wanted to invest in--I mean, it's the most important day (and one of the most expensive!) of one's life, so wouldn't you want everything captured on camera?! Tina was very professional and so easy to get along with--which is SO important with someone who is with you the entire day of your wedding. She made us feel comfortable and didn't have us do any goofy photos. We were even more comfortable on our wedding day because Tina did an engagement photo session with us, which went spectacularly--They were great photos to use for our save the dates! Everything felt so natural in the moment on our wedding day and it really translated once we got the final photos. Tina and the staff at Artisan Events have been such a joy to work with once we got our photos back and began discussing our photo album. We've just finished the editing process for our photo album and can't wait to see the finished result! We've also ordered albums for our parents, which made for great thank you gifts for their love and support through the planning process. We're also looking forward to getting the digital archive of our photos, so we can print our photos and hang some around our house. Thank you Tina and Artisan Events for helping us capture the love and joy that we felt on our wedding day--We will be able to look back and remember that special day forever now! read more

Tina is the most wonderful photographer we've worked with and John is also fantastic! Though pricier than many competitors around greater Chicago area, Artisan Events is one of our favourite vendors for the Big Day. We love the authentic emotion Tina and John managed to capture, which brought tears back to our family and friends each time they look through the photos. Also highly recommend their highlight video service! Great editing efforts and high quality footage. read more

We met with Allison from Artisan. Her work is amazing... We ended up picking Pen Carlson Photography, but Artisan was in the top 2... I would recommend looking at her work for your wedding photography. The only con: she seems more expensive than other photographers.. but to be fair, she does have a lot of experience! She is definitely a pro. You know that if you hire her, you will get great shots. read more

AJ and Tim were such a pleasure to work with. On the day of the wedding, you end up spending a lot of time with the photographers, so it was great to have AJ and Tim because they are both easy going and professional. The photos turned out AWESOME! We went back and forth on wether or not we wanted to do a first look (we did it in the end and it turned out amazing!) AJ was great at helping steer us in the right direction, as all the decisions regarding photos can become overwhelming. AJ suggested that we did some night shots, while people were dancing, so we snuck away for a few minutes and we love these photos too! All in all, Artisan allows you to tell them what types of photos are most important to you and they work to capture what the bride and groom want. They did a fabulous job and we cannot thank them enough! read more

We found Artisan Events through my co-worker's recommendation. My husband and I could not be happier with our decision to hire them as our wedding photographer. The service they provided us during our wedding was superb and highly recommendable. Hannah and John were amazing, accommodating and very professional. All the pictures they took were amazing and beautiful (especially our limo pictures), just the way we have hoped for. We are really glad that we found them and we would recommend them in a heart beat to any couple who are planning their dream wedding. read more

My husband and I are so happy we decided to use Artisan Events for our wedding photos - particularly AJ (main shooter) and Emily (2nd shooter). They were the only company we met with but we knew instantly AJ was the one we wanted with us on our special day and we were not disappointed. Day of, I was a little anxious that I would not like the way I looked in my photos and AJ somehow picked up on this and throughout the day gave me glances of pictures she was taking (which were always awesome) and it eased my anxiety so much & helped me relax and enjoy the moment, not focusing on the fact that I was being photographed. She had very good judgment of what was making us happy/comfortable (picking locations with less people vs. standing in the middle of Michigan Ave, which is not my style). AJ played therapist, bus driver (meaning our driver was an idiot and she had to direct him to our locations since our wedding was on Marathon weekend, lots of street closures). She was also protective over me when people were trying to ask me questions, she would direct them elsewhere so that I would not have to deal with the stress. Also, because of Marathon traffic, the bridal party was late to the first look and Emily had to calm my sometimes impatient husband down, and she did a great job at that too. Almost all of my family and friends commented on how awesome both the girls were - they were really fun to hang out with day-of and really felt like they were just a part of our group. We just got our wedding photos and WOW - we were blown away. They are beautiful and they perfectly captured our day. Our photos are soft, romantic, candid and timeless. I cannot say enough good things about them!! Highly recommended! read more

Loved using Artisan Events for my recent wedding. I instantly knew I'd want to work with them after my initial consultation at their office. They were organized, timely and, most importantly, I loved their photos and aesthetic. Hannah was our photographer and she was lovely to work with! She was chill and made me feel calm during the process. I don't love posing for photos and she understood that and made it a speedy process! Would 100% recommend Artisan Events for any upcoming event! They were the best! read more

AMAZING. DO IT, JUST DO IT. My husband and I worked with AJ for our engagement and wedding photos and they are unbelievable. Not only was the final product more than we could have hoped for, she was a great director the day of, making sure the bridal party was sticking to our timeline and looking at her cameras, not the random iphone takers on the street. We have yet to have our meeting to get the photo book but I'd recommend her and Artisan Events to anyone and everyone. read more

I cannot say enough how much I loved working with Artisan Events. Not only were AJ and Jon good listeners, organized and focused; they were FUN! My bridal party kept saying how much they enjoyed the photo sessions (which no one every says). But most importantly, the photos the took were absolutely breathtaking. They somehow captured EVERY moment beautifully. I mean seriously, I'm not sure if they even went to the bathroom all night! I am so, so happy I hired Artisan Events because now I have the full night captured so perfectly. Thank you! read more

My husband and I are so happy we discovered Artisan Events! We met with a couple of other photographers, but we felt really good vibes after meeting with studio director, Cindy. The company's overall aesthetic is in line with ours. Their handmade albums are beautiful and honestly one of the reasons why we decided to book with AE. All of the AE photographers we had to choose from are super talented, but we fell in love with Ashley's work. Ashley and associate photographer, Amanda were very patient and had great attitudes throughout the wedding day! Our wedding party had a blast working with them! Cindy is also very easy to work with. She answered all of my emails and questions (and I had a lot!) in a timely manner. And even if she didn't have the answer readily available, she was able to find the resources to help me. AE is very transparent with their costs and try their best to assist you with your budget. What a great experience to have when it comes to one of the most important days of your life! read more

Artisan Events was recommended to us through our wedding planner, and after evaluating a few photographer options, we selected them. If you live in Chicago, they have a pretty convenient location and their studio is really nice. The wedding albums they provide are also EXCELLENT (there are however some upgrades during the wedding album creation process that would be nice to know on the front end, so be sure to ask a lot of question about that pricing if you're on a tight budget, but it can all be done at the base price if you are willing to be flexible). Our lead photographer was AJ, who is very easy to work with and friendly. She is an Associate who did a nice job (the Senior Associates were out of our price range). We weren't sure who the second shooter would be for our wedding until right before the date, which is something that could be nice to know ahead of time. In the consultation process, they have multiple lead photographers you can choose from depending on their availability, your budget, and if you like a certain photographers "style" more than another. In terms of the wedding photos themselves, we got some really great pictures that we're excited about. There were a handful of instances where good pictures were taken with so-so backgrounds which somewhat spoiled the photo, but they can touchup many things at your request. Hope this helps! Artisan Events is an amazing photography studio full of talented artists! I spent long days scouring the web for the best photographer, and my work paid off! We worked with AJ and Tim, and they were phenomenal. We couldn't have asked for a better shooting team. They have great energy and just are so great at what they do. The investment was 100% worth it and can't wait to receive our album. Did I mention, we got all our photos back in 2 weeks? That's unheard of and amazing! AJ and Tim, thank you so much! You two are fabulous people with overwhelming talent. We love your energy and passion and are so happy you were a part of our special day. read more

We got married on an unseasonably warm day in September. Artisan Events did a great job photographing our wedding and covering every event throughout the day. The pictures really reflected the emotion from everyone as well as the beautiful sunny fall day. Artisan assigned us a photographer based on what type of pictures we wanted. Through out the "planning phase," Emily stayed in touch to ensure the photographers captured certain moments and groups of people. We met with a few photographers and Artisan Events was the most reasonable. They provided quality service at a great price. We would work with them again and are looking forward to receiving the final album they put together for us. Thanks! read more

Artisan Events did a great job capturing our wedding day. The whole team is extremely communicative and strive to make your experience work with them great. This place is a class act. If you are looking for photo journalism styled wedding photography or baby portraits definitely check out Artisan Events. Amanda, the owner, has set the bar very high. The album styles range from actual bound books to more traditional albums to mini, purse-sized brag books. She has a lot of great photographers working for her which offers some variation in style and price levels. A friend of mine hired Amanda to shoot her wedding, she had 2 additional assistants capturing the event making sure not to miss a thing. If your not looking for a photographer she has a boutique that sells beautiful albums, stationary, frames and framing. Pricing is on the high end but you get what you pay for and in this case you get extraordinary photography and album design. http://artisanevents.com/ read more

We found Artisan Events on the Knot website while planning our summer Chicago wedding and I am so glad we did! We interviewed a few different photography companies in the city prior to meeting Artisan, specifically Cindy, and we were sold! We are so impressed with their professionalism and timeliness with our planning, and our photographers were phenomenal the day of. They worked with my husband and I, as well as our wedding planner, to make sure we felt prepared and set for our day. They were organized, professional, and very talented. I did not want cookie-cutter wedding photos, and I was able to find Artisan Events through our wedding venue's preferred photographers list that was provided. These guys are incredible. We loved how they capture the REALITY of weddings - from happy tears to intricate details and the beautiful architecture of the ceremony and reception space. Artisan Events capture photos that are truly authentic. Since they were listed first on our vendor's preferred photography list, they were extremely familiar with the venue's locations, best spots for photos, how to work with the venue manager, and how to navigate the wedding throughout the day which definitely helped put my mind at ease. The wedding images turned out truly amazing! We can't wait to see the wedding album once its ready. read more

I cannot emphasize enough how amazing AJ and Tim were as our wedding photographers. AJ's personality clicked wonderfully with our bridal party and the people at the wedding. My husband and I worked with Tina from Artisan Events for our wedding this past October and I cannot say enough good things about her and the studio in general. On the logistical end of things, everything about the studio is professional and efficient. On the photography end of things, Tina's photos of our wedding were stunning and managed to capture the emotion of the day, while also looking like artwork. Their albums are true masterpieces, which is what made us choose them in the first place. Tina also has the absolute perfect personality for a wedding photographer. She's friendly and pleasant to be around, while striking the perfect balance between offering her professional wisdom and asking for your input. All of the obligatory altar photos following our ceremony were timely and efficient, to the point that even our wedding party raved about Tina and her colleague (whose name I unfortunately can't remember but who was a joy to work with as well). We are so happy with the photos from our wedding and our entire experience with Artisan Events. read more

Artisan made the process so simple and stress free. All of our wedding party and family pictures went so smoothly thanks to Hanna's direction and we ended up being ahead of schedule! Amanda, Suzanne, Kristy, and Yatzik-Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Where to begin-your photography is absolutely beautiful, unique, and truly captured the emotion of the day!! It was a full day and you never lost your excitement and enthusiasm to snap shots that would forever be our memory of our special day. We received so many compliments about your professionalism during our wedding day. Amanda-our album is a work of art, your creative ideas and quality of the production are impeccable!!! We would recommend you all to anyone for your artistic ability, professionalism, and overall friendliness to work with (and we have, my best friend and sister-in-law both have used Artisan Events and would in turn recommend them on to friends and family). I first heard of Artisan Events when my daughter was planning her wedding. She had researched photographers both in the city of Chicago and the Western suburbs. We checked out several, but were particularly impressed with Artisan Events owned by Amanda Sudimack. After making an appointment to view her work, she emailed and called my daughter Katie to make sure the directions were complete and understandable. She also met us outside of her studio to greet us. After that , the photographs she shared with us were amazing. She asked us what type of photographs we were looking for and she proved to be the best of the best of the photographers we interviewed. We had 3 photographers on the day of the wedding who never seemed to be in the way, yet captured all the wonderful moments of the day. They were great. That does not really sum up all that they were. When the proofs came in, it was difficult to chose as all of the photographs were unique. Amanda did the wedding album for us as well as a parents album which I cherish to this day. Since we had such a wonderful experience with Amanda, we recommended her to several of my daughtes' friends as well as to my son-in-law's sister. The friend who used Amanda was just as pleased as we were with how her wedding photography was handled. My son-in-law's sister was also equally impressed and so pleased with her wedding photography. I cannot say enough great things about this studio. Several of my daughter's friends used other photographers and were not pleased at all with their choices. I can honestly say that Artisan Events made out "Special Day" that much more special with how they photographed it. This studio is truly unique, professional, creative and so very artistic. We truly made the right decision in using Artisan Events. read more

We have been working with Tina and Amanda and it has been such a treat! Tina shot the day. We met with Tina a few months before the wedding and when we told her what we were looking for she instantly understood what we were going for - a little bit artistic, but with a heavy focus on trying to capture the emotions of the day. They coordinated the details with my wedding coordinator and so I didn't hear from them until Tina showed up at my house on my wedding day - completely stress free! Tina was so un-intrusive, I didn't even know she was already at my house and taking photos! The photos at the church were unbelievable. Then we when to the country club to take bridal party pictures outside. Other vendors were trying to talk to me and get in the mix, Tina jumped in and made sure that they left me alone to enjoy the moment with my husband. Artisan Events was very friendly and professional, and the photographers took beautiful photographs. The only reason I gave 4 out of 5 stars is because we did not receive the family photo at the reception that we asked for (we took the photo, but apparently it did not turn out).
